LUCAS’ POV.

As I drove to work, I couldn’t help a smile from forming on my face. Emily being jealous was just the cutest thing ever. So all because she saw Katie kissing me, she decided to be curt and distant with everyone?

And what was that she said about being possessive with her male friends?

I laughed; I had acquired a possessive female friend.

I got to work, and met Tray scolding two female employees who had accidentally managed to smear lipstick on an important piece of paper.

“This is really crazy. How in the world did you manage to do this!?” He asked, throwing the paper on them.

“Look at that paper. Does it look like it was typed out? No, idiots! It was handwritten! And you smeared lipstick all over it like that? Tell me why you were putting on lipstick at work. Did you come to work to flirt or to look pretty? How do I apologize for this?” He asked, and I waited in front of the elevator, while he raged on.

“We’re so sorry, Mr. Turner.”

“Don’t you worry. Maybe if I tell the writer that I fired the nasty employees who did this, maybe he won’t be so angry.” He said, and walked away. The two female employees followed after him, pleading and looking like they had landed in real trouble.

“Don’t follow me!” Tray snapped, and the first one began to shed tears. “Why are you crying? If your job meant this much to you, then you wouldn’t have done this. The lipstick was yours, right? You’re always the one wearing this brown lip gloss, smiling at all the men in your department.”

“I’m so sorry. I’m really sorry.” She cried.

“Just… I don’t know. We’ll sort it out. Clean it as best as you can, without it suffering a single tear.

” He said, and came to join me in the elevator.

“They stained Mr. Trelawney’s proposal. Damn, I don’t know why that old man refuses to use a computer.

He’s just stressing us out. Now he expects us to sign the letter, and send it back to him. Why the hell does he do that?”

“Don’t stress yourself over Mr. Trelawney. He’s a stubborn man, and he knows the power he possesses. That’s why he’s this way.” I said, as we went up.

“I really don’t know what to do with the damn paper. Oh, before I actually forget, the new project is ready.” He said to me, and I raised a brow with a smile.

“Quite fast, right? That’s the power of money.”

“So, is everything done completely?”

“It’s ready, but we could still add a few touches.

The building the influencers will use is close to the company, and as for their headquarters, we’re merging it with one of the tech companies like we discussed.

We already have the makeup artists, camera men, directors, and all the people that’ll help the influencers make their reels.

They only have to do well, get really famous, and we’ll be getting a percentage of their revenues. ”

“Oh really? So, how many people have applied for the job?”

“Seven ladies.”

“I think that’s enough for a start. If they do really well, then we can decide to hire more. Is the building big enough for seven ladies?”

“We’re going there today. You’ll see, and judge for yourself.”

“What about the contract they’ll sign? Is it ready?”

“Yeah, but we still have the drafter going over the whole thing.” He replied, and the elevator door opened.

We stepped out, and walked to my office, where I worked on a few things before setting out again to see the building the influencers would be using. Just like Tray had said, it wasn’t very far, and we got there in about ten minutes.

The living room was painted in a light cream color, with little touches of grey around the edges.

The seven rooms were each painted in a single color of the rainbow. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.

The kitchen was spacious, and there was a white room that could serve as a studio, should the girls need to shoot something urgently.

“Overall, I think it’s really good. They had better do well if we’re providing them with all these.” I said, looking into the dining room.

“We still have to meet the girls. They’ll be at the company soon.” He said, and I fell to the sofa.

“You should have told me before we left for the house.”

“It’s still the same thing. We’ll be going back to the company anyway, and since you’ve seen this, then we can leave.” He said, and I reluctantly got to my feet.

“So, I think we shouldn’t merge the two companies. I think this new company should stand on its own to better suit the needs of the influencers, while the tech company can merge with another company.” I said, as we walked through the door.

“That’s not bad either.” Tray said.

We got into the car, and drove back to the company.

“What does it mean when a girl says she’s possessive with her male friends?”

“Some girls are like that.” He replied, typing something on his phone.

“Oh really? Let’s say she sees the friend kissing a girl, then becomes cold to everyone all throughout the day, snapping and glowering; being in a foul mood.”

“Whoa, that’s not friendship on her part.”

“It’s not?”

“Did Emily do that?”

“Yeah,”

“Then she… Wait, who did you kiss, Lucas? Oh my, you’re finally becoming me.” He exclaimed and I chuckled.

“No. Katie kissed me, and I was too much of a gentleman to push her away. I did break the kiss though, because it felt wrong, and she was a little hurt, so I decided to tell her how I felt before she healed from that, so she could heal all together. The double rejection.”

“What are you saying?”

“I’m saying she was hurt because I rejected her kiss, so instead of her healing from that hurt, and expecting more from me…”

“You decided to let her know you liked someone else, so she could deal with it all, and heal at the same time?”

“Yes. It’s better than her healing from the first rejection, only to get hurt again from the second.” I said, and Tray nodded.

“That’s kind. So, dear Emily saw it, and went berserk?”

“Exactly.”

“Dude. She likes you.”

“Well, I don’t know about that.”

“I’m saying she likes you!” He screamed into my ear. I pushed him away, and we both burst out laughing.

The ladies were already waiting for us at the company, and I settled on a sofa in my office with Tray on another sofa adjacent to mine.

“You can bring them in.” I said to my secretary, and shortly, the seven ladies entered.

They all ranged from beautiful to cute, to sexy, to innocent.

The first one seemed to be the smart type.

She packed her hair in a low bun, and had a professional smile on.

The second seemed older, but had a childish excitement on her face, and she was dressed in all pink.

I couldn’t help noticing how people would like her energy.

The third girl was quiet, and was dressed in black, like she was mourning, although I could see she was the cute type the boys would get hung up on their computers watching everyday.

The fourth girl was bouncing, rocking back and forth on her heels, and had a really bright smile on.

Her hair was in a high ponytail, and she winked at Tray shamelessly. Tray coughed, and looked away.

The fifth girl had a little smile on, and seemed a little reserved, and a tad unsure about herself.

You could say she lacked confidence. The sixth girl looked audacious, and was dressed like a model preparing to slay in flashy clothes.

She was radiantly beautiful. The last one looked a little shy, but had large, round eyes that would captivate the viewers. She also appeared to be the youngest.

Judging their appearances, and the first impression of their personalities, it seemed like we could hope for a hooked audience.

“Okay, I think they should introduce themselves now.” Tray said, but just then, I felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise.

A bad feeling…

No, a bad aura…

And I sensed it from one of the girls.
