Page 141 of One Nightstand With My Ex's Uncle
LUCAS’ POV.
I left the garden, right after Emily, and made my way to John’s room. I wasn’t going to try to calm him, or strike a deal like Emily thought. Instead, I was going to threaten him. If he really wanted to go against me, then he was to go ahead and try shit.
In any kind of battle, I was definitely going to win.
I knocked on his door hastily, but there came no response, so I opened it. The room was cold, and deserted. He wasn’t there.
My next destination was the Raymond mansion, hoping he didn’t go there to tattle off to his father first. Although, I doubted he’d do that.
He’d probably want to think about it, and decide the best way he could use it to his advantage, and he was likely to try to threaten Emily with it also. Try to order her around.
However, the lights of the mansions were off. Then, it hit immediately. He had probably gone to await Emily in her room.
My feet didn’t waste any time in rushing back to my mansion. Before John did anything irrational in his drunken state, I needed to be there.
I bounded up the stairs, my heart pounding, as I found my way through the number of doors lining her hall.
Pushing the door open, my heart dropped. John was there—strangling her.
“John!” I boomed, clenching my fists hard at my sides. He let go of her, and she slid to the floor, coughing hard, with her slender fingers caressing her neck.
John turned to me slowly.
“You can’t blame me.” He said, walking towards the door. I hit his chest with my palm, and he staggered backwards. “She’s there. She needs you, Uncle.” He called sarcastically. “Should you be fighting me?”
He walked past me, and slammed the door as he went. He was quite right. Fighting him wasn’t what I needed to do at that moment. It was for later.
I went to Emily, and lifted her up, placing her on the bed.
Tears ran down her eyes, and her hands stayed fixed to her neck like she was scared it would be squeezed again.
“What if he… comes again? And you’re not around?”
“He won’t do it again.” I assured her. “He won’t.”
“How are you so sure?” She asked, with a sniff, as her eyes filled with more tears. “He was really going to kill me. I was so scared. What am I going to do? How can you be sure he won’t want to kill me again?” She asked, in tears.
“Because he merely escaped me this time. He won’t escape me next time. If he hurts you, he knows he’s done for.” I said, pulling her into a hug, and she sniffed, holding on to me.
We locked her door, and used her room that night. She lay in my arms, breathing slowly, but her heart wasn’t settled.
“If you see John is suspicious, you’re to call me. I’ll get you the Tasers tomorrow. Don’t hesitate to use them on him if he tries anything funny.” I said to her softly, and she nodded.

The next day, I was completely absentminded at work, thinking of Emily. She went to work with John, and I couldn’t help but wonder what on earth was going to happen. I should have ordered the Tasers early in the morning incase he tried anything funny at work.
Although, I wasn’t sure he was going to risk it at work. There were just too many eyes, and ears.
“What’s on your mind?” Tray asked, and I snapped out of my thoughts.
“Is it that obvious?”
“You stare into space every three minutes. There’s definitely something on your mind.”
“John found out.” I said, with a sigh.
“Found out what?”
“About me and Emily.”
“What? So he knows right now that you both have a thing together?”
“He was mad, and drunk. He tried to strangle Emily.” I said, looking into Tray’s wide eyes.
“What got into him? Why’s he suddenly acting all demonic?” He asked, sitting next to me.
“I don’t know. It drives him crazy, not being able to get what he wants. He’s never had to strive to get anything, so this really gets on his nerves.” I explained.
“It brought out the beast in him.” Tray added softly.
“I’m going to have to get off work early, so I can check on Emily. She might get home before John.”
“Sure. I’ll take care of what needs to be done, and I didn’t forget about the Alpha Marriage stuff. I’m looking into it.” He said, and I nodded, giving a sigh.
When I got home later that day, I saw the maids cleaning the house.
“Is John home?” I asked.
“No, sir.”
“Why are you doing this then?” I asked. Even if they were to clean, it was something they usually did in the morning.
“He suddenly called, telling us he doesn’t want to see a speck of dust anywhere; he wanted everywhere to be perfectly clean, or we’d be in trouble.” Another replied.
“What about Emily?” I asked.
“She’s not home, either.”
“Just do whatever you can. He’s not going to go around checking everywhere.” I told them, before walking back the way I came.
I got into my car, prepared to make my way to the company. Already, I had Tasers with me to give to Emily. John was dangerous, and his dangerousness came from his unstable emotions.
Shortly, my phone chimed, and I took it out, checking whatever message had dropped in.
It was from John, and he had sent a video.
“What the heck is he up to?” I muttered, even though I was a little nervous. What if was a video of him torturing Emily? John was the kind of man to do that just to make me mad.
I clicked on the video, and it was one of John in his office.
“John Granger here. I’m not going to waste anyone’s time, as I want this video to be as short as it can be.
You all remember the golden jubilee celebration we held a while back, right?
There were pictures displayed on the screen—pictures of my Uncle and my wife.
Everyone said they were having an affair.
I spoke out that day, saying no…” He leaned into the camera, looking directly at it.
“Well, I’m about to change my words.”
Underneath, was the caption of the childish video he had sent.
