Page 172 of One Nightstand With My Ex's Uncle
EMILY’S POV.
Instinctively, I swatted his hand away. I was used to being abused, but not his rough touch. No matter how violent John was, he didn’t have that rough grip that the man in front of me had.
He let out a bark-like laugh, and clapped.
“Feisty. Do you know where you are? You’re with Lopez now. You see, the three of us are going to show you magic, and it would be best for you if you enjoy it.” He said, and one of them stood in front of me, jerking my hair downwards, making my chin tilt upwards forcefully.
“Stop it.” I said, panicking as one sat behind me. “Stop!” I screamed, as his hands came underneath my T-shirt from behind, grabbing my breasts, and me to his chest. I began to scream, as the one in front of me began to take out his belt.
The third one, struggled with my shorts. I didn’t give him the chance, I fought, throwing my legs around.
“Surrender!”
“You’re only making it worse.” The one behind me rasped, and hot tears burned at the back of my throat.
“Leave me! Let go!” My hand went behind and pulled the hair of the one holding my chest. He yelled in pain, and I received a slap from the one in front of me.
“You wench!” Another shouted, and I managed to bend, sinking my teeth sharply into the thigh of the man beside me, wanting to get my T-shirt off. He had decided to leave my shorts be for the time being. He let out a loud yell, and I received a whack that seemed to stop my brain from working.
They pinned me to the bed, whacking my face repeatedly, until I felt blood rushing down my nose, and busted lip.
“Hey, hey, hey!” I suddenly heard, and the men stopped. “Cut the crap. Her love has paid.” He said, and my tears doubled.
The men looked at me with spite.
“Come on, girl.” Lopez said, and I got off the bed quickly, rushing to him.
He stroked my head. “Good girl.”
An elderly woman was waiting for me, and she took me with her to a pretty room, with golden lights.
She prepared the bath for me, and I soaked myself in it, closing my eyes, and feeling on the verge of tears.
However, I held them back. Every single part of my body disgusted me, and I wanted to wash my very skin off.
After bathing me, she dressed me in a light peach dress that sparkled.
It hung on my curves lightly, outlining them.
Then it had a little flair at the thighs.
Pleats ran from the spot above my sternum, round my left arm, and stopped between my shoulder blades.
The right arm sleeve was also off the shoulders, and it was just about three inches long.
She wore me a necklace, and I almost scoffed. Lopez was packaging me to John. Maybe a way of apologizing for my hair.
The woman styled my hair in a half up, half down hairstyle, and decorated it with pins, living two handfuls of hair hanging down the sides of my face.
“You are beautiful.” She said, looking at me in the mirror, and my eyes fell to my fingers.
“Thank you.” I replied. There was only one person I wanted to call me beautiful, and I didn’t even know if he was doing fine.
My whole life just seemed like a huge mess.
I ought to be relieved that I was leaving as soon as I came, but it only made me feel the strong urge to cry.
With beautiful sandals, I was led out of the room, and taken to the living room.
I sat, watching the others stare at me with envy in their eyes.
The women who had been friendly to me waved, and I managed a sad smile, hoping they found their way out too.
It was so hard to believe I was kidnapped all because John had refused to pay his debt. What if worse things had been done to me? What if I didn’t survive it? If those men had raped me, and I had given up the ghost, was that it? I’d just leave like that?
Lopez sat opposite me, watching me with a smile, but I didn’t pay him any heed, and shortly, John came striding in, his eyes searching.
When his eyes found mine, he hurried his steps, and came to me. His hand held my cheek, and the other touched my hair. He stared at my short hair, and pulled me to hug him.
I let him hug me, and it only made the tears feel like terrible waves threatening to overcome me, and pour out.
He stroked my hair, but I felt no comfort from it. He wasn’t the one I wanted. The one I wanted to look at me with such worry was yet to come. He was the only one who could make me feel safe, and command a spark of joy with just a single smile.
He released me, and held my hand.
“Did you have to cut her hair?” He asked Lopez.
“Oh wait. Then you prefer her finger?”
“You could have just waited.”
“You wouldn’t have come then. She was so sure that you didn’t care about her.
Either she was wrong, or she was lying.” Lopez said, and John looked at me, but I kept my gaze downcast. “She’s a really quiet one, uh?
Not my first time seeing her, but I believe the first time I saw her, she had a bright smile on.
Seems like I’m not the only nasty man on earth. ”
“Keep your mouth out of my business. I gave you your money, Lopez.”
“What’s going on with you? All the news of you hitting, and assaulting.” Lopez asked, and John sighed.
“Worried about me now?” John asked.
“Of course, the money speaks. The old beef is over, and if you need a business partner, call on me.” He replied, and John gave a soft scoff.
“So you can kidnap her again?”
“You mean you’ll break your part of the deal again?” Lopez asked with a smile.
“I don’t trust myself, man. Thanks for cutting her hair and nothing else.” John replied, and got to his feet. He held out his hand, and I took it.
Raising me to my feet, we walked out together from Lopez’s mansion.
When I got into John’s car, I looked up at it, and saw it looked like an old deserted mansion. A haunted one. It looked so undesirable outside, but was a beauty on the inside.
John drove into the night, away from the mansion, and another sigh escaped me. Why was I scared in Lopez’s mansion?
John’s mansion was just the same, and he was taking me back to it.
Back to hell.
