EMILY’S POV.
It was a complete mess at work. John took all his anger out on the employees. He had been cranky all morning.
“I need to check the sales performance of each department.” He had suddenly said, getting up from his seat, while he and the directors discussed in his office.
Together, we all left the office.
“Mr. Granger. If we have to check all the departments, and their sales performance, then you’ll be at least, twenty minutes late for your meeting with Mr. Steve Collins.” I said, looking over his tight schedule.
He didn’t say anything; he simply ignored me, and everyone around, noticed that he had ignored me.
“Mr. Granger.” I tried again, “You have an appointment with…”
“Laughing? What’s so funny? Count me in, and let’s tell a joke while our sales are dropping every minute.” He snapped at two female employees, who laughed while looking over something at the computer.
The both of them as straightened up immediately, and got to their feet, as did everyone else.
“It’s not as you think, sir. A competitor tried to use dirty means to make their products superior over ours, but failed woefully. It was a little thrilling, sir. We are sorry if we gave you the wrong impression” One of them said, and they both apologized.
“The competitors are out there, trying to make their products sail over us, and you’re watching them?
Shouldn’t you try to do something better?
Did you come to work for this?” He snapped.
“If you don’t want to walk out of here without your staff ID, then you’d know better to throw your laughter into the bin. ”
Just like that, John went around, scaring everyone, snapping at them, even for their appearances.
He went as far as raising his voice on a lady simply because her clothes weren’t fitted, and looked a little drabby on her.
He showed his true colors, as a rather immature leader, incapable of keeping his emotions under control.
When I finally retired to my desk, I began to take calls, apologizing to clients because John called everything off, much to his disadvantage.
“I’m so sorry once more. Thanks for understanding. Have a nice day, ma’am.”
The call ended, and I proceeded to punch in a new number, but my colleague tapped me.
“Yes?”
“Can I ask a question?” She asked, and I nodded.
“Go on.”
“Uh…Did you and Mr. Granger fight?” She asked.
“Why do you ask?”
“Everyone noticed. He didn’t even look your way, throw you a glance, or speak to you, and they all say instead of taking out his anger on you, he’s transferring it on to the employees instead.” She replied, looking around as if John would suddenly come round the corner, and see her.
“Well, it was just a minor fight. Something about me not being in line with his thoughts. I don’t think it’s enough for him to take it out on everyone though.” I replied, and began to punch in my numbers loudly, so I wouldn’t have to listen to more.
I placed the phone to my ear, “Hello, ma’am? This is Emily Granger…”

Not too late in the afternoon, I drove home in John’s car. He had me sit in the backseat, with his two new assistants on either side of me.
It was a very awkward feeling, as the both of them kept on stealing glances at me. It made things appear like they had planned something for me—like they were going to do something bad to me.
I was quite sure John in all his immaturity, had disclosed almost everything to them, just to fill in the empty spot Katie left.
Contrary to my thoughts, all they did was just stare. When we got home, they followed John into his room, and I went to mine. Lucas was already seated on my bed.
“Hey, are you okay?” He asked me, as I began to take off my shirt.
“I don’t know. For now, he’s not talking to me. He’s literally ignoring me.” I said, and he stood up, walking to me.
“Here.” He said, handing me two Tasers. I pressed a button, and electricity came blazing out. My eyes widened as I hadn’t expected such ferociousness. It made me laugh.
“Okay, now I feel a little safe. Did you seriously have to go this far?” I asked, turning on the second Taser.
“Of course, I have to. Keep it on you at all times.” He said, returning to the bed.
“You’re home early.” I said, taking off the fitted skirt.
“Was worried about you.”
“You didn’t need to.”
“John already made his move.” He said, and I looked at him, from where I stood in front of my wardrobe.
“What did he do?”
“He sent a video, explaining how you cheated on him, and how I seduced you. Quite childish of John, but if that gets out, I wouldn’t just be the one getting hurt, you will too.
I didn’t think he’d actually tell anyone.
I was thinking his pride wouldn’t want anyone to know he wasn’t desired by his wife. ” He said, and I joined him on the bed.
“He says he’s going to upload it?” I asked.
“He didn’t say it directly, but I feel he wants to use it to control us. I don’t want him to be able to do that. Who knows what he’ll make you do?”
“So, what next?” I asked, dejectedly. “Would anyone believe his words without evidence?”
“People are quick to confirm their suspicions, with or without evidence. People are quick to respond to, and share rumors. That’s why I thought long and hard, and came to a crazy conclusion.” He said, his eyes suddenly alight with an eager green fire.
“Okay? Crazy… doesn’t sound good.” I chuckled nervously.
“Yeah, doesn’t sound good, but if this works out. If we manage to make things work our way, we might manage to get you some kind of freedom from him.”
“Freedom? From John??”
“Tray sent me some info this afternoon after I came home, and I started thinking of what I could do, and how his info could help. So, I came to the conclusion that…” He paused, looking at me intently.
“What’s with the suspense thing? Go on.” I said, impatiently.
“We should take our case to court.”
