Page 155 of One Nightstand With My Ex's Uncle
JOHN’S POV.
Emily ran back to me, as the car went out of sight. She took my hand, staring at me with desperation as her beautiful eyes blinked, wet with tears.
“Please… don’t do this. I beg you! This is a little too much. You have the antidote! You do. Why do you have to send him away?” She asked, holding on to my hand, as she cried.
The feeling of her holding on to my hand gave me mixed feelings, but anger was the most prominent. She was only touching me because of Lucas. If I didn’t send Lucas away, she wouldn’t beg me.
“I’ll be nice to you. I swear! Please just bring him back! They’re going to hurt him. John. John, please…” She begged, as more tears streamed down her face.
“Now you’re begging? Now you wish to be nice?” I asked, and she nodded frantically.
“Mira, take Raymond in.” Aunt Genevieve said, and I watched Uncle Will get into his car, ready to chase after the car that took Lucas.
“John!” Aunt Genevieve called, sharply.
“Please…” Emily cried.
“Derella, take the kids in.” Aunt Genevieve ordered, walking towards me. “John, did you do that to Lucas? What am I hearing?”
“And what if I did? Can anyone prove it?” I asked, and she looked shocked.
“John, you will call those men now, and tell them…!” She began, but I cut in.
“I’m not going to say or do anything, Aunt Genevieve. Lucas is gone, and that is it. As for you…” I turned to Emily, and pulled her with me.
“John!” Aunt Genevieve called, and Emily tried to tug free out of my firm grasp.
“Finally! I’ve waited for this day.” I said, slamming the door, as I walked in. “You should have just stayed with me! You went looking for trouble. You’re the cause of everything.” I said, feeling a sense of joy.
“Let me go. Stop!” Emily cried.
“No Lucas. The house is free of his toxic energy. I can do whatever I want, without having to see his annoying, overprotective face. You are mine once more, Emily. No one to save you. You know, I should have done this a long time ago. I should have gotten rid of him.”
She jerked against me, and I dragged her roughly to me. She staggered, and I held her, steadying her.
Her angry eyes brimmed with beautiful tears, and a smile lit my face.
“This is why they say never to give up.” I said, raising my hand to touch her beautiful face.
She shook her head, sending her brown curls flying, and I laughed. Then, I headed to her room. The maids around, cleared the path for us fearfully, unable to say or do anything.
I pushed the door to Emily’s room open, and pushed her in. She fell on the ground hard, and her hair poured all over her face. Before she could swipe it away, and get to her feet, I had taken the key, and slammed the door, locking it.
In a second, she was pounding on it, screaming my name.
With a smirk, I bounced the key in my hand, walking away from her room.
In the living room, Aunt Genevieve and Aunt Mira sat, with grave expressions on their faces.
I sat in front of them, and they stared daggers at me.
“I’ll be appointing guards to surround my mansion. From this moment on, let’s have our separate affairs. If you attempt to come into this building without permission, you will be denied entrance, and dragged off if necessary.
“John!” Aunt Mira called, sharply. “Hear yourself!”
“Acting like an Alpha, when you’ll never become it.” Aunt Genevieve spat, and I laughed.
“Dad grows weaker by the day. Very soon, he’ll have to leave affairs to me. I’m his first and only son. No one else.”
“Lucas will have to be Alpha.” Aunt Mira said, making me laugh hard again.
“Lucas? A beast? An Alpha who can’t control himself? A man who almost killed his lover? That’s the person who will have to be Alpha? Stop kidding.” I chuckled.
“John.” Aunt Mira snapped.
“I’m going to make things very different, and will do as I wish.”
“You dared to defy your father, and made your Uncle a beast.” Aunt Genevieve spat.
“Oh, so you admit he’s a beast.” I chuckled.
“Do the needy, John. Before Will comes back.” Aunt Mira warned.
Who was she kidding?
“What needy? You saw the video, didn’t you?
You saw him squeeze Emily’s neck and try to throw her over.
You saw him fight me, and nearly murder me.
When Uncle Will returns, you’ll see he’ll tell you the same thing.
It’s already out of my hands. There’s nothing I can do.
Even if this matter goes to court, Lucas will be sent to a worse place, and it would be a public trial at that.
You want everyone knowing he turned into a monster?
I doubt that’s good for the reputation you so much love.
Isn’t it better as he’s gone quietly like this?
He’ll be treated soon enough, so don’t you worry.
” I said, getting up from my seat. “I have a prior appointment, so excuse me, please.”
“John!” Aunt Genevieve called, but I didn’t reply. The both of them called for me, but I ignored everything.
It was finally my turn to do things however I liked.
I drove to the little restaurant I and my men used to eat at, and they were there already, waiting for me.
“How was it, sir?” Rebal asked.
“A success. He has been taken.”
“Perfect.” Landon remarked,
“You both are great masterminds. He will not be back for years. It’s the end of him. He will die there with his unborn kids.” I said, and we all laughed, before I ordered for drinks, and finger foods to entertain us.
I continued, “I’ll need you both to find men who can guard well. No criminal records, but they should fight well, and know how to withstand trouble. They will be needed around the house.”
“Like how many do you require?” Landon asked.
“Lets start off with twenty.”
“Twenty?” Rebal asked.
“I will need some to guard us, and the rest will be placed around the entrances to my mansion. I will also need some to follow Emily wherever she might go.”
“It’s a great idea, Sir. We will work on it.” Landon assured me.
“Expect extra money to celebrate.” I said, and their eyes gleamed with happiness.
They thanked me repeatedly, and ordered more drinks.
I returned home drunk, and stumbled on my desk, while trying to pull off my socks. My eyes fell on a tiny bottle, and I smiled, managing to throw it into the hidden depths at the top of my wardrobe, where no one was sure to search.
It was the antidote.
