Page 137 of One Nightstand With My Ex's Uncle
EMILY’S POV.
When my eyelids fluttered open, I could see the brown ceiling. Great.
I was home, and no longer in the hospital. Next to me was my window, and it was open, bringing in a cool breeze.
I turned my head, and saw Lucas next to me, his head propped on his elbow, as he stared at me. His features were as handsome as ever. Eyes as green as the forest leaves, hair adorably soft and brown, and lips completely seductive.
“You fainted. Right outside the hospital.” He said, and I blinked.
“I know. I was feeling so weak, and the sun just… it just became too bright, and too hot for me.” I replied, and he raised a brow.
“Okay, I can accept that you were feeling a little weak, but why were you in the hospital?” He asked, and I gave a little smile.
“I went there for a checkup.”
“Checkup?” He asked, although he seemed like he didn’t want to believe it.
“Yes, I felt stressed, and just decided to check up on myself. We’re always told to go to the doctor if we’re not feeling ourselves.”
“And what did the doctor say?”
“He says I’m mentally stressed.” I replied.
“I kind of understand that. After the wedding, John’s crazy behavior. Everything. Still you should try to let all that go. Things will get better.” He said, tucking my hair sweetly behind my ear.
“Hopefully. I can’t wait for them to get better though.” I replied, and he placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.
“If you need some more sleep, you can get some.”
“You know, I think I know something that relieves stress.” I said, moving closer to him.
“What’s that? Is it something I’m thinking of?” He asked, in his lowest voice.
“Is the door locked?”
“Yes, it is.”
“Are you free?”
“Yes, I am.” He replied, and his mouth came down on mine.
We kissed repeatedly, making sweet sounds each time our lips parted, and I dug my hands under his shirt.
We kissed like that for minutes, breaking the kiss, and making the sounds louder each time.
It was crazy how a single kiss from him could turn me on, sending shivers down my spine.
I let out a soft sound, as I moved closer, despite there being no space.
His hand came down on my back, and he pressed me to him. Just what I wanted. Already, I could feel his manhood hard behind his trousers.
My hand found it, and rubbed against it. It made him give a moan, and I kissed his neck sweetly, going to his Adam apple, kissing it while making deep sounds from my throat.
Then, he rose, and bit my ear lobe, whispering sweet nothings in it. How I loved the way he did it. My breath was coming out louder, and faster, and my head became fuzzy.
All I wanted at that moment was him.
I unzipped my skirt, and pushed it furiously off me, and he undid my shirt buttons, while my hands romanced his manhood, making him groan, and get lost in it.
He took off his trousers, and I touched it, it was as hard as a rock, ready to penetrate. We kissed again, while he played with my nipples, making them go hard, and scream to be touched. He kissed, and bit them slowly, enough to draw moans from me.
“Now.” I breathed out shakily, and he dug his hands into my already wet panties, playing with me how he liked.
His fingers went in, and I moaned softly, grinding against them.
“You know how to make me a different person while doing this.” I said, moving my hips, and he sucked hard on my breasts, moving his fingers faster.
“You like it?” He asked, with a hoarse voice.
“I do.”
“Wait till we do it in the car, in the shower, in the kitchen.”
“Sounds exciting.” I said, and gasped as he slid into me. My nails tore into his back as I pulled him onto me harder.
“We’re not supposed to do this.” He said, and I kissed him wholeheartedly.
“I know.”
He kept on riding into me with full force, and eventually everything built up within me, reaching a climax. I released, and gave a sound of pleasure.
Then, we both went into the shower to take our bath together, kissing as we did so. Sex with Lucas was sweeter than I imagined.

The next day, I went to work with John, and he didn’t say a thing to me. If he thought his silence was going to make me feel bad, or something, he was very wrong. It made me feel better, although there was also a sense of wariness that came with it.
What could he be planning? Why is he keeping his silence? Does he have another huge master plan to spoil my happiness? Why was he so quiet?
The typical John was always angry whenever things didn’t go his way, so why was he so quiet?
I walked into my office and sat behind my desk.
“Congratulations.” My colleague said, handing me a box of chocolate bars. “I always meant to give this to you because I couldn’t attend the wedding. Mr. Granger actually invited us all.” She said, and I raised a brow.
“I wasn’t aware he invited you all. Well, thanks.” I said, taking the box from her.
“So how does it feel to be married?”
“I love it.” I replied, thinking about Lucas.
“Wow. Look at how you stare into space, and say that with that obsessed smile.” She said, and I laughed.
She’d never know the smile wasn’t meant for John.
“By the way, I have a curious question.”
“What’s that?” I asked.
“You both are married now, right?”
“Uh huh.”
“Then why are you still a secretary? Shouldn’t you skyrocket to being a manager, a director, or something more important that doesn’t require you doing much work?” She asked, and I gave her a little smile.
“I wish to remain a secretary. You know, there’s no law that says a wife cannot be a secretary to her husband.” I replied, and she nodded slowly.
“So, you love being a secretary.”
“Absolutely. It’s a nice job, and definitely not for someone lazy.”
“True. He needs you since Katie quit.”
“Katie quit?” I asked, and she nodded.
“You didn’t know about it?”
“When?”
“Just before your marriage.” She replied, looking eager to share information.
“I was wondering why I didn’t see her around. I thought she probably went on a business trip.”
“She didn’t. She quit. You know, there’s a rumor saying she was madly in love with Mr. Granger, and that she was fine watching you two as lovebirds, but she could not stand the thought of you both getting married.
She had to leave, so she wouldn’t keep on getting hurt.
Some even said she tried seducing Mr. Granger so many times. ” She tattled, moving closer to me.
“That can’t be true.” I said, slowly to myself.
“Of course, it’s true. Don’t you think it’s weird that she and Mr. Granger were so close? Something had to have happened? Maybe they…? Oh no, sorry. Mr. Granger probably rejected her a thousand times to stay faithful to you.”
“Katie’s not like that.” I said calmly, to her. “There must be another reason she quit.”
“It can’t be more suspicious. How could she leave work right before he gets married?”
“I know Katie, and I think I might know a little bit of what happened. Don’t be so quick to judge others based on a rumor.
Did anyone see them fight? Did anyone see her trying to seduce him, or confess her love to him?
No one saw that, so how come you’re so quick to believe all these stories?
” I asked, and she bit her lip, withdrawing from me.
“I’m sorry. I should have thought things through.”
“Don’t feel bad. Almost everyone likes to be carried in the flow of rumors. Just don’t be one of them.” I advised her.
Later that evening, I left work, and embraced the cool evening air that flooded me.
I cracked my neck, and stretched my arms. Sitting at a desk all day definitely had its consequences.
Then, I spotted someone looking at me.
It was Katie.
She waved, and I walked towards her.
“Do you have a minute?” She asked, with a little smile.
“Yes, I do.” I replied, and we both walked to a nearby café.
Clutching a glass of refreshing cappuccino in my hand, I watched her, waiting for her to speak.
Finally, her lips parted, “I feel like I owe you an apology.” She began.
“Why?” I asked.
“You’re probably wondering why I quit too.”
“I found out about it today. Didn’t think you’d leave John.”
“I had to walk away. He… he’s becoming someone else.
Something else. A monster born out of desperation, and before he makes me start thinking like he does, I thought; why not walk away?
Why not leave while you still can? Why not start afresh, and cleanse your thoughts?
Find a new environment, find somebody else you’d want to look up to. Don’t be like John.”
“You made the right decision. John is too toxic for anyone good to stay around.” I said, admiring her ability to see past the wall of money that John had built up in her account.
“I was the one who got the documents for the Alpha Marriage for him.” She said, and I stopped.
“You?” I asked, in an almost whisper.
“I’m sorry.” She said, bowing her head.
“You did?”
“He told me it was for a friend. A friend who wanted to get married to the love of his life. He said he was doing them a favor. I found out only after he had forced you to sign it. It made me feel awful. I felt so bad, so angry at myself. It made me feel like trash. I discovered the many ways he had used me to make others cry, and most of the time, I wasn’t aware, or didn’t care enough to ask.
“So, it… it hurt me that I had been that negligent enough to ruin your life, and bind you with him forever. We fought, and I… I quit. That was the last straw. I couldn’t take it anymore.
I’m so sorry, Emily. I’m really sorry. So sorry.
That’s why I decided to let go of Lucas.
I didn’t do this, so I’d get him. No. If you can’t have him, then it’s only fair that I get punished too, for what I did.
It’s only fair that I don’t have him either. I’m going to forget all about him.”
“It’s not your fault.” I said, seeing the large beads of tears in her eyes. “It’s not. John’s an asshole. It’s his fault. You had nothing to do with my misery. You got the papers for his friends, not for me. The fault is not yours.” I assured her, and she broke down in tears, crying hard.
I patted her, and smiled. We no longer had to be enemies.
She was free from John, and it was my turn.
My turn to break free from him.
