Page 180 of One Nightstand With My Ex's Uncle

EMILY’S POV.

Lucas and I packed up our things.

“Did I forget anything?” I asked anxiously, sweeping my eyes over all the things in our room.

“Relax. If you forget anything, you can always buy it.” Lucas said, dropping a kiss on my cheek, as he passed by to get his phone.

“Why do I just have this feeling that I’m forgetting something?” I asked again. “Ah! It’s killing me.”

“It’s just what happens to everyone when they’re traveling for the first time. Relax. It’s just two weeks.”

“I know, but everything has to be perfect for our honeymoon.”

“And you’ve been thinking about forgotten things for almost an hour.” He said, closing up the large traveling bag we had dropped our basic necessities in. He wheeled it out of the room.

“Lucas!” I whined.

“I’m done baking!” Dahlia said downstairs, to the kids who were watching movies.

“Dahlia’s the best baker! Her honey cookies are dope.” Sadie said.

“I’m glad she’s now living here. I need these things.” Derella said, snatching a muffin from Derel’s hands.

“Hey!” Derel shouted, but Dahlia dropped another in his hands.

“You both are leaving already?” Jude asked, getting to her feet. “Let me inform everyone.” She ran out quickly.

Dahlia fed me and Lucas with muffins, and patted our cheeks lovingly.

“The car is ready.” Jude shouted, and we all made our way out. They had all insisted on following us to the airport.

How Sweet.

Paris was a beauty; Lucas and I took photos everywhere. Then finally, we proceeded to make my dreams come true.

We were going to visit the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre, then at night, we’d see the Eiffel tower while on an overnight cruise on the river Seine.

After lodging at a hotel, we bounced out on the streets of love.

“Wow!” I exclaimed upon seeing Cupid at the temple of love. “Oh my God, this is so new!” I said, laughing.

“Look at these naked statues,” Lucas said, and I laughed at his expression, and covered his eyes with my hands, pushing him forward.

“Then don’t look. Your innocence will be stolen.”

“Shouldn’t I be saying that to you?”

“No.”

“Why?”

“Because I’ve seen it all.” I replied, and we both burst out laughing, heading over to the Palace of Versailles.

When we got to the Louvre, I was stunned to see more famous statues, and was actually surprised that I could name them.

“Aphrodite!” I called, and dragged Lucas to it.

“Didn’t you want to see the Mona Lisa?” He asked, and my eyes widened. I immediately raised the camera I had gotten, preparing it.

“Mona Lisa. Where are you?” I sang, as I looked around.

Lucas and I took our fill of pictures, and upon seeing the Mona Lisa, I marveled.

It was in the largest room in the Louvre, and had so many visitors.

Thanks to Lucas’ height, we were able to take lots of pictures.

If care wasn’t taken, I would have gotten lost in the painting, trying to decipher if she was smiling or not.

However, as much as I enjoyed the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre, the best was the river Seine.

The cruise ship was beautiful, and lovely, lined with little lights all around it. From it, we saw the Eiffel tower standing like beauty itself, and I could spend forever admiring the lights of the city.

Lucas and I continued to watch the beautiful sight even from our room which had a large glass window.

“I suddenly got insane ideas.” I said, taking out my sketchbook, and began to draw madly.

“I’ll open a mall for you when we get back.”

“You will?” I asked.

“Definitely. Then, we’ll hire people to work with you. You only need to make the designs, my influencers will model it, and make it popular. The dressmakers will then produce it in bulk.” He said, and I dropped my sketchbook, and straddled him even as he sat. “What?” He asked, smiling.

“This is supposed to be our honeymoon. Why are we talking about designing dresses, instead of talking about taking them off?” I asked innocently, and he burst into laughter.

“Then should we start talking about it?” He asked, placing his hands around my waist, and I nodded. I leaned in to kiss him, my hair falling over both our faces. We kissed endlessly, getting lost in each other’s lips, until finally we landed on the bed slowly taking off our clothes.

His hand roamed my body slowly as we kissed. It was going to be slow, passionate love making. Marking our union as a true couple meant to last forever.

Two weeks later, Lucas and I had a bountiful fill of Paris, ready to return to New York, and start things afresh. A new job, new family, and of course, a new house. A house that had been washed and ridden of the pain it embodied.

However, on the plane, as we flew back, I suddenly gagged.

Lucas raised a brow, and his eyes fell to my stomach.

I shook my head slowly.

“Could it?” He asked.

“Don’t know. You think?”

“Of course, I think. Oh my. Finally, I’m the last Granger to become a parent.”

“Don’t say it out yet. Let’s not get too excited.” I cautioned, with a bright smile. “Let’s branch to a hospital as soon as we land.” I said, and that was exactly what he did.

The moment we landed, we branched to a hospital, and had a test run.

“Congratulations. You’re four weeks pregnant.” The doctor confirmed.

My jaw fell, and Lucas bit his lip smiling.

“I’m a mom!” I squealed, and the doctor laughed, before giving us advice, and papers to sign up for a prenatal class. We accepted it politely, even though we knew I couldn’t enroll in their prenatal school because of the distance.

When we left the hospital, Lucas and I shopped for unisex baby clothes, and the feeling was beautiful—deciding on my baby’s first clothes. In my mind, I tagged it as the baby I had lost from me and Lucas’ one night stand. He or she had returned, and I was going to cherish them with all my heart.

Upon arriving home in the evening, we realized they had set up the dinner table outside, and food had been set up.

“Welcome.” They greeted, and Lucas and I ran to take showers, and change clothes.

“Katie.” I squealed, when I noticed her at the table, and we embraced.

“Look at your hair.” She giggled, tucking my hair behind my ear, and I noticed something glinting on her finger—a ring.

“Katie, this…”

“Katie’s getting married!” Sadie squealed.

“Whoa! To whom?”

“Tray!” The kids all chorused, and my jaw fell, making Katie laugh.

We sat, serving ourselves with dishes.

“How come?” I asked, shocked to the bone.

“Dahlia and I picked out that ring as a congratulation gift.” Lady Mira said.

“How did it happen?” Will asked, and Lucas smiled.

“Alright. Say it yourselves.” He said, and Katie blushed.

“When Lucas was gone, we both were the ones managing his companies, and working on how to get him out.” Katie said.

“It happened like magic. Katie still had low self esteem due to John, and I helped her work on it. Took her to a few parties and all, and we fell in love.” Tray completed, making Katie blush, and Alpha Raymond clapped.

“That’s a beautiful love story there, Katie. I’m happy for you, Tray.” He said.

“Thank you.” They both replied.

“In that case, I also have something to share.” Derella spoke out.

“Go on, sweetie.” Alpha Will replied.

“I’m not full out gay. I’m bi, and I have a boyfriend.”

“Whoa!” Sadie shouted, and everyone clapped. “Okay, my turn.”

“Don’t tell me you’re about to say you have a boyfriend too.” Lady Genevieve asked, and we all laughed.

“No, no…” Sadie laughed. “I’m cured. I no longer hallucinate. My therapist was really talented, and special.” She revealed.

“That’s beautiful.” I exclaimed, as everyone else clapped. I fed her a meatball, and she naughtily bit my hand lightly. “Naughty thing you are.”

“Okay, who else?” Lucas asked, taking my hand gently.

“Jude.” Sadie said, and Jude rolled her eyes upwards thinking.

“There’s not much… uh, yeah. I became the cheerleader captain, and since then, friends have been insanely flocking around me.” She said, in excitement, and we all clapped.

“That’s my girl! Derel, you’re up.” Lady Mira said.

“Uh, it’s quite similar to Jude’s. Ever since I started taking Dahlia’s snacks to school, I have become more handsome, and suddenly have more friends.” He replied, and we all burst into mad laughter.

“In that case, we’ll share something too.” Lucas said, smiling.

“Emily is pregnant! Damn, whoa! Shit!” Sadie screamed, with wide popping eyes, like she had stolen the words from his mouth.

“What the hell is wrong with you? You said yours. Why spoil the surprise?” Lucas asked, whining at not being able to break the news himself.

“Really?” Dahlia asked, looking surprised, pleased, and a little emotional at the same time, and I nodded.

“Oh my God.” Katie squealed, her hands flying to her mouth.

“I can’t wait to see it.” Derella said, and they all began to talk about it.

“What?” Sadie asked Lucas who was still staring at her.

“You have a large mouth, Sadie.” Lucas said, shaking his head at her.

“Watch out for me, Lucas. I’ll personally train your kid.” She said devilishly, sticking a fork brutally into a sausage, and I choked. Everyone began to laugh, while Katie patted my back.

A kid like Sadie???

Under the stunning moonlight, just like that, with my new family, I had found peace.

Lucas and I held hands, intertwining our legs underneath the table, and whispering to ourselves, surrounded by everyone we loved.

And if there was one thing that made me more happy, it was the fact that my children would come out to meet a happy family.
