Page 96 of The Lost Ones
There’s no way I can sever his head from down here and I silently curse myself as I hold him back with a strength I didn’t know I had. That locked down part of me that holds my gifts rattles but is useless to help me, still trapped behind the binds that were put there.
The vampire is so fucking focused on trying to eat me, the blood covering me probably is just enticing him more even though it’s his friends.
Do vampires eat other vampires? Wouldn’t that be like cannibalism? Is it still called cannibalism if it’s vampires?
Shit focus Sage! I berate internally.
I somehow manage to get my knees up between me and the fucker but he’s so damn big I can’t launch him off me and with his speed he’d be back on top of me within a second and definitely beforeI could get back up. I grab one of my knives and stab him in the neck splattering even more blood all over myself. The vampire is in some sort of frenzy though and doesn’t slow in his desperate need to get at my throat. I pull the knife out and stab him again, only just managing to avoid the teeth that snap towards my arm. I’ve got no idea what would happen if this fucker bit me but I’m willing to bet it wouldn’t be good and I’m not risking it. I smash the butt of the knife into the vampires face hoping to stun him enough to get out from underneath him but instead he bellows in pain as one of his fangs snaps off.
Cool.
Whilst he’s slightly distracted, I wriggle until I can reach my other knife and then simultaneously plunge one into the opposite side of his neck as last time and the other into his heart since although it didn’t kill the last fucker it did put him down momentarily. At the same time I use whatever strength I can muster and push with my knees forcing him off me and watching his eyes widen in shock as I rapidly push myself up off of the floor, grasping my swords tightly in my hands as I stand over him. I am literally dripping with blood now. I position my swords on either side of his neck and quickly pull them together severing his head easily thanks to the sharpness of the blades.
As I stand up, preparing for another attack, I glance around noting the stillness, my eyes land on Levi surrounded by at least five bodies as he honest to fucking goddess rips the head off the last one that charged him as if its nothing at all and casually chucks it into the pile of severed heads next to him. I try not to be impressed by his obvious show of strength but let’s face it I’m only human or actually I guess I’m not, am I? Discarding my wayward thoughts, I look for my other guys checking that they’re all ok and impressed that they each have at least three of the vampires in pieces around them.
Well holy fuck. I guess there was a lot more than I originally thought.
One look at my guys is enough to make me realise that although each of them have smears of blood on them that are more than obvious and would be completely impossible to hide, none of them are completely saturated in the fucking stuff like I am. They are all grinning though clearly enjoying the fight as much as I did.
“Shit, are you ok Sage!?” Maverick suddenly exclaims and I instantly have all of the guys attention as they started to run towards me.
“Fuck!” I exclaim harshly as Levi in giant demon form suddenly appears in front of me, sending my heart into my throat. “I guess you got super speed with this latest transformation then.” I state sarcastically.
He raises an eyebrow in an unimpressed stare.
“Are you ok?” He asks urgently his voice deeper than usual and his eyes scanning me from head to toe as the other guys surround us.
“I’m fine. None of its mine,” I shrug smiling.
“Are you sure?” Kai asks worriedly.
“Oh yeah, I’m good. That was fun!” I chuckle and they share a look before grinning.
“Now what?” Hunter asks.
“I guess we try to get rid of these bodies and then see if we can find the school?” Maverick suggests.
“Yeah I have a few fucking things to say to the people at that goddamned school!” I practically growl and the guys look at me cautiously as I give them the sweetest smile I can produce.
“Well they’re fucked!” Kai chuckles, making me grin.
“How exactly are we going to get rid of the bodies?” Jax asks sounding far more curious than disgusted.
“Good question, anyone got any lighter fluid and a match?” Hunt chuckles and smirks.
“Take a picture first, I have a feeling we might need proof.” I say thoughtfully.
“In that case why don’t we load as many as we can into the trunk, it’s massive and if I’m right and the school had something to do with this, they should fucking clear it up anyway” Kai suggests and wicked grin on his face.
“I think that might send the right kind of message, although it’s not exactly like we will be able to fly under the radar if we do that.” I add.
“Did we want to?” Maverick asks smirking and I chuckle.
“Fair point.” I concede.
“Alright, load as many as you can in the trunk and search the car. See if there’s anything that can help us dispose of the rest of the bodies. I really don’t fucking feel like digging over a dozen fucking holes right now.” Levi groans, finally back to normal.
Well as normal as Levi gets now. He’s still bigger and taller than he was and I swear his fangs have gotten bigger and his voice deeper.
