“You didn’t mention that he was that powerful.” Cole mutters sounding seriously impressed.
“That’s because he isn’t. He’s stronger than average like the rest of us but he’s never been strong enough to pull off a stasis spell of that magnitude before.” Asher answers him sounding confused.
I have a feeling the goddess is at work here and in all honesty I would be incredibly surprised if Harry, Ty, Sen and Asher weren’t Cole’s Bonded mates. The only thing giving me pause is that Cole hasn’t gotten a Soulmate Tattoo yet and the guys don’t have warrior tattoos either. The only thing I can think is that for some reason they need to be all together for it to trigger even though that’s not how it usually goes.
“He wants the ingredients for the sana et munda spell.” Harry says jumping up and searching through the books. “It’s been a while since we’ve had to use it, I want to double check the ingredients.”
“What’s going on?” Nate asks.
“A bite from afurrure serpens canis viventemis deadly. Death usually occurs immediately.” I can’t help the gasp that escapes me but Asher carries on his explanation. “Levi didn’t die, in fact it looks like he carried on fighting for a small amount of time before he collapsed. Sen put a stasisspell on it meaning that he stopped the poison from spreading further. No one that we know of has ever survived it but the best shot for him to survive now is the sana et munda salve. Harry makes it but we haven’t used it for a while hence why he wants to make sure that he’s got all the ingredients right.”
“Fucking hell!” I exclaim as I start to pace.
I wish I could be there for Sage, I can only imagine what she is going through not knowing if Levi is going to pull through. He has to though this whole thing can’t just be for nothing.
The room is plunged into tense silence as Harry finds the book he need and starts to tell Kysen how to prepare it and what to do through the Bond link.
“What I don’t understand is what the fuckers were doing so far from the mountains. Sen shared the route they were on and the creatures shouldn’t have been anywhere near there let alone that many of them.” Asher says into the silence.
“It’s probably got something to do with that creep we told you about.” Jett says.
“If he’s got enough power to control them then Kysen and the others are in even more danger than we imagined.” Asher replies.
“Why don’t we go to them?” Cole suggests.
“Not yet.” Ty says.
Cole looks up to him and studies his features before nodding in agreement.
“They aren’t too far from the next village so he sent all of them but Maverick to go and get the ingredients hopefully they won’t run into any trouble.” Harry says tuning back into the conversation.
“Now we’ve just got to wait.” Asher says, “he’s got the best chance of survival if he’s not dead already.”
“Asher!” Ty admonishes.
“Too blunt?” He says sheepishly.
“It’s fine, we’ve gotten used to it.” Jett says reassuringly.
Cole gets up and walks over to Asher pulling him into his arms and kissing him.
“Don’t worry.” He adds and Asher smirks.
“Well I guess we don’t need to research how to find them now.” I shrug. “I hope Levi’s ok.”
“Sen will let us know if his plan works or not.” Harry says.
I nod. The next couple of hours crawl by at a snails pace, after the first couple of times me and my guys asked how Levi was doing Harry pointed out that if he kept asking then Sen is going to know somethings up and Ty was very sure that he can’t know there’s a link between all of us yet. So I spend the time pacing the room and chewing my fingers as my men watch me anxiously, they know better than to try to interfere when I’m like this. After what seems like a century Harryfinally speaks.
“Guys!” He says needlessly as all our attention is pretty much on them anyway. “He’s awake! I don’t fucking know how it’s possible but using the salve, Levi’s own obvious strength and Mavericks healing ability and then finally the Soulmate Bond he’s healed.”
“Thank fuck for that!” I exclaim falling back on to the sofa that just so happens to have my guys on.
Chapter Ten
Sage
“That was amazing I can’t wait to see what else I can do with my gifts.” Hunter says excitedly after he turns back into his human form, watch as the last of the animals he’s just thanked disappear through the trees.
