Page 146 of The Lost Ones
We search the room for the next ten minutes or so before Erin groans.
“Fuck, that was so weird.” She mutters before looking around the room her eyes landing on a large antique sideboard.
Without saying anything to us she walks over to it and with an ease that would show anyone that she is supernatural she pushes it to the side.I gape at what’s revealed in dark purple paint. As large as the entire sideboard the symbol of the Order decorates the wall.
Erin turns back to face us.
“I didn’t see much. I saw three people dressed in purple with masks completely obscuring their faces. Despite the amount of devastation in the room Rebecca and the others were subdued really quickly. It took minutes if that and they didn’t get a chance to fight back. All of this was done after they had been taken. I didn’t see who did it though.” She says.
“So someone at the school is definitely working for the Order then.” I say.
“How the fuck did they get on campus though?” Cole says, “It should be completely impossible. As far as I know there isn’t even a way to drop the protections and let the Order in. My brothers went here and they’ve told me all sorts of things that I shouldn’t know.” Cole adds seeing our questioning faces. “They wanted me to have as much information as possible considering I’m the first male Centre in a while and Supernaturals are surprisingly enough known for being judgy assholes.”
“There’s something we’re missing. At least we know for certain now, that it was the Order though, that’s something.” Levi says.
“Are you ok?” I ask Erin.
“I’m good I think. That was so weird but I instantly knew what was happening which was nice or I would’ve freaked the fuck out.” She says.
“I got Nate to take a picture of what you looked like. You’re going to love it.”
“Come on, let’s get out of here before we get caught!” Nate says and we quickly leave all going to our apartment.
“Where have you guys been?” Dash asks as soon as we enter and I startle when I realise that all of the others are already here.
“Family meeting time!” Kai grins happily from the couch and pats his lap for me.
I roll my eyes but make my way over anyway.
“Where are you going?” I ask Cole as I see him turn towards the door.
“Erm well, Kai said family meeting so I thought…” He trails off.
“Oh no dude you’re family now too. Find a seat and fill us in on what trouble the girls convinced you to get into.” Damon chuckles.
Cole smiles his blindingly beautiful smile, takes a seat and proceeds to tell them everything.
“I honestly don’t understand how you guys gets that much done in the space of a couple of hours!” Hunt exclaims shaking his head.
“We can figure out a plan of attack next but first I want to know if you guys found anything?” Levi says turning to Mav and Dash.
“Yes and no.” Dash starts, “That creature that attacked us is only found in the fire mountains in the Demon realm and it should be impossible for it to get here, with what you’ve said about the void though, that would make more sense.”
“The swords are no longer in their display case, so those,” Mav points to my forearms, “are definitely the swords of Nyx. The only other thing we managed to find out was that Nyx was the last queen of all the supernatural’s. She ruled for a long time before her and her Bonded disappeared without warning. She united all of the supernatural’s against the Order and fought beside them in the war, eventually defeating them. It’s said that her loyalist supporters and protectors were marked with her warrior mark. The mark not only gave them status in the kingdom that Nyx chose to rule from in the Fae realm but it also gave them status and power in all of the realms, she was the queen of them all after all. The mark also enhanced their gifts and linked them to Nyx, forging a mind link with them that meant they could call upon her if they were in trouble and that went both ways, if Nyx needed them she’d call.”
I sit there stunned.
I understand why Nyx would have this mark and mark her loyalist followers but why do I?
Actually I’m not ready to look at that too closely right now.
“This is the same mark that you all have right?” Cole asks.
I told him all about it earlier figuring that it was probably a good idea since he’s going to get one at some point.
“Yeah.” Dash sighs. “So we ended up with more questions and some vague answers. We had to leave because it was getting late but we can go back tomorrow and see if we can find anything else out.”
“You guys did good. At least we know something now.” Levi praises and Mav and Dash grin.
