The rest of the lesson is pure fucking torture.
I loath exercise.
I love fighting and I don’t mind running since it gets me out of my head and helps me to sort through the tangled mess that is my brain and morerecently my feelings. I know they’re my mates, my Bonded, and we are supposed to be together but I don’t want them to feel like they have to love me and I keep getting this niggling thought pop up.
Would they still want me without the bond?
“Of course daughter.”Whispers through my mind and I can’t help but smile.
Well that’s somewhat reassuring.
Regardless though, I fucking hate exercise.
As soon as we’re done I hop up and realise with great surprise that my mind had wondered and I’m not even breathing hard. As we run the laps around the field I’m continuously having to remind myself to hold back and even make it look like hard work, since they were Nicole’s instructions.
“I hate this, I feel like I could’ve run at least five more laps than I have by now and the rest of these fuckers are already dropping.” Maverick curses, the fact we can’t really stretch our legs or our gifts starting to make each of us a bit stabby now.
“I know. Nicole better have a damn good reason for this!” I frown.
She’s going to have some mightily pissed off supernaturals on her hands if it turns out to be for nothing.
“Aw look at the baby supes. Can’t even keep up with the rest of us.” A guy with slicked back blonde hair taunts running next to us as two more appear and the brunette from our Centre class earlier.
My magic stirs already on edge from the amount of effort that its taking to hold back. These fuckers can’t be very observant because although we are pretending to struggle none of us are good enough actors to pretend to sweat or can be bothered to fake laboured breathing.
“Fuck off.” Levi growls, clearly not in the mood.
“Careful baby supe you’re playing in the big leagues now. I can fucking destroy you!” The guy growls flashing a bit of tiny fang and I immediately place my hand against Levi and Kai’s chests as Erin place’s a hand on Dash’s chest surprisingly. All without breaking our stride.
“Aw they have to have their bitches keep them in check. It’s not like they could do anything anyway.” The brunette scoffs and I have had enough.
“Sage . . .” Jax says warning in his tone and clearly anticipating my next move.
“What the fuck?” The brunette gets out before she hits the floor with and almighty bang having tripped over a mysterious head sized boulder that appeared out of nowhere.
I shrug and smirk as we carry on running, her guys all rushing over to her and shooting me death looks in the process.
“I feel like you made that worse.” Hunt comments with a giant fucking smile on his face.
“And I feel like I couldn’t give a fuck.” I grin.
“You should be careful.” Cole says running up besides us and looking asunaffected as we are and my guys share a look as they start to watch him with more interest.
“Why?”
“Well they think they run this fucking place. Until you came along Rebecca was the Centre who not only had actually found her Bonded mates but also had more than anyone else since she had four.” He explains, “she’s likely to lash out at you for that stunt, as amusing as it was.” He smirks and I grin.
“Bring it. I’m already done with this shit and it’s the first fucking day.” I groan making his grin widen.
“I knew I liked you. Just keep your guard up.” He offers.
“Always.” Levi growls, this whole thing has him on edge and his demon close to the surface.
Cole raises his eyebrow at Levi’s obvious show of strength but doesn’t say anything. The bell rings and I’m somewhat sadistically pleased that I actually broke a sweat. That is until I realise that we have to go to another lesson and I absolutely do not want to spend the entire time sweaty.
“Sage!” Domonic bellows and we all turn to him even though he just called my name.
“I suggest that you read the information book that was left for you and I’m sure Becky told you about. It would have made you more prepared and told you that although we expect you to fight in whatever it is that you are currently wearing. We aren’t barbaric enough to make you sit in stinking clothes for your last lesson. More for your next professors than you.” He smirks as the rest of the class rushes past us and into a building that I’m guessing holds showers. “You have fifteen minutes to get back to your rooms and shower before your next classes. Your Realms teachers are not lenient, I would not suggest testing their patients with tardiness.”
