Page 111 of The Lost Ones
I study each of them in turn.
Levi is the most familiar to me but still foreign in a way. His eyes are the red I’ve become familiar with but his fangs are longer and more deadly looking. He’s not only grown in height but in the muscle department too with thighs and arms the size of freaking tree trunks. I cannot wait to explore all of his new muscles privately. His hands are tipped with his black claws that are wider and longer than they ever have been and on his head clearly visible through his long hair are four horns. Two larger ones right at the front that reach up and curve towards each other, almost touching and creating a curved triangle. The two smaller and straighter horn’s are placed just behind each of the curved front ones makes it look like he’s wearing a crown.
My gaze switches to Kai.
Like Levi, Kai has grown in height and has gained some more muscle mass but is more lean and toned. His skin has a slight red tinge to it that darkens in colour around his finger tips that now have dark red claws protruding from them as literal sparks ignite every now and then. I’d be worried about getting burnt but my own flames spark at my finger tips in response causing us both to grin. His skin is also darker around his hairline where two black horns with red swirling patterns in them that light up every time his fingers spark with flames curve backwards, positioned proudly. Unlike in that vision I had of him in a few years’ time he doesn’t have giant bat like wings arching behind him. I wonder if that’s because the vision was wrong or because he hasn’t realised he has them yet and they are remaining hidden.
A flash of silver catches my attention and I gasp as I take in Jax’s new appearance. His eyes are a pearlescent blue that reminds me of mother of pearl but bluer and with streaks of silver. I love his normal sapphire blue eyes but his supernatural eyes are truly stunning. His black hair is streaked with liquid silver, bright blue and teal. Looking just like the ocean. His skin has an almost pearlescent sheen to it and his swimmers build is even more pronounced. Like Kai he’s grown in height. Also like the other two his fingers are tipped with deadly looking claws but his look beautiful too. In a dark almost black, blue withsilver flecks dotted on them. If I had to guess I’d say that he is something to do with the ocean.
“Are you ok Little Star?” He asks.
Holy mother of fucking everything, his voice has changed as well. It’s musical, calming, exotic and damn right erotic all at the same time and a shiver of pure pleasure courses through me.
“Well that’s a dangerous as hell voice you’ve got now.” I grin cheekily and he blinks for a second before understanding dawns and his grin widens.
I vaguely recall reading something about creature’s that lived in the ocean and had beautiful voices but I can’t remember what they were called. I do know for certain that I’m not thinking of a mermaid.
“I think we can take that as she’s fine!” Hunter chuckles deeply.
His voice has changed too although not as dramatically as Jax’s has. Hunter’s is just deeper and rougher. It still has a similar effect as Jax’s does though. Hunter is freaking huge. I mean, I guess I should expect it he was the biggest in muscle and height out of them all when they were just human but now he is seriously massive. His long dark brown hair has come free of its usual low ponytail and falls in wavy disarray around his face. Only just reaching his shoulders. His eyes whilst still hazel, glow more gold than hazel now. One of his eye’s a complete dull gold. Whilst the other is mixed with gold, green and brown.
He looks sexy as fuck.
Other than his eyes and ginormous size though I can’t see anything else supernatural about him. I tilt my head studying him harder and he smirks winking at me. I watch in rapt fascination as he takes a deep breath his whole form starts to shake and creak before it disappears in a cloud of forest green and gold magic. There’s a loud snap that sounds painful as shit and I’m seconds away from panicking until the magic cloud dissipates and there stands a black wolf with a strip of silver running from the tip of his nose straight down his back and to his tail.
Did I mention that he’s the size of a damn horse? Not a pony, nope. He is fucking huge. Hunter is a wolf shifter, intuition tells me that they aren’t usually as big as he is though. It does explain his bond with his dogs though, I’d be very surprised if he can’t communicate with them properly now. He’s a truly majestic being. He dips his giant head that is no shit twice the size of mine at least and licks my face.
“Eww!” I grumble wiping my cheek with my sleeve as the guys laughter booms around us. “I’m going to get you back for that Hunter!”
“Looking forward to it, Sweetheart!” He replies suddenly in human form and disappointingly clothed.
“Aw damn it!” I groan out loud.
“Were you hoping I’d be naked, Sage?” He smirks.
“Who me? Would I be that depraved?” I ask innocently.
“Yes!” All of them answer together and I chuckle.
Ignoring them I finally checkout my last guy.
Maverick is just wow.
That’s pretty much all I can think when I look at him. He’s a similar size and build to Levi but somehow holds more grace in his still form. His sandy blond hair looks like streaks of actual gold is running through it and has been dipped in a rich royal blue that matches his part in the Soulmate Bond Tattoo. His eyes are a bright and ethereal coloured green, similar to his normal eyes but with every possible shade of green in them. If I hadn’t seen the Fae in my vision of the battle with the order, then Maverick’s now pointed ears would have definitely given me an inclination of what kind of supernatural he is.
I am so incredibly lucky.
All of my guys features are more pronounced and if possible they are more handsome with their supernatural sides set free.
I feel like I am truly seeing them for the first time.
Chapter Nine
Levi
That was the most intense and crazy feeling I think I have ever experienced. My gaze never leaves Sage and my demon instincts urge me to go to her. I thought that I might think of my demon side as separate to me but that’s not the case at all. I am my demon side and my demon side is me. We are one and the same.
I finally feel whole.
