He nods once so we all get off of our horses and I watch in fascination as the guy just turns and walks away, the horse shocking me further when they follow him without command or anything.
“You have been signed up for all the general classes as well as your specialised classes for your species. There are more classes that you can take if you become interested in them but as I understand it the Earth realm academy is fairly lax in its curriculum so I would advise that you get used to the work load before taking on anymore.” Director Warminster says.
I’d take offence but at the end of the day not only is it true but he also says it in such a way that it’s clear that he means no offence in the first place. He hands us all thick A4 envelopes which I’m assuming has our room, schedule and hopefully a damn map in it.
“Come on guys I’ll take you to your room and show you around.” Ty says he walks to stand closer to Cole.
There is definitely something more going on there.
Once we’re far enough away from the Director Ty turns to us again.
“I’ll introduce you to my brothers as well. One of them is on the way here but me and the others should be able to help you find your friends.” He says.
“You don’t have to.” I say.
“Don’t worry I want to and I have a feeling they’re going to as well.” He grins a cheeky grin and Cole freaking blushes.
No way.
Damon shoots me a raised eyebrow look clearly seeing what I am.
Well this is going to be fun. I think as I look up at the huge, imposing and damn right impressive castle looming all around us. This one hasturrets, towers, gargoyles and extra embellishes. When you think Disney castle this is what you picture except darker and more threatening.
I fucking love it.
Lets get settled and then get to finding Sage, bitch still owes me a drink I smirk to myself earning wary looks from my men. They know me too well.
As for Ty and his brothers I’ve just got this feeling that we need them and there’s clearly something more going on between him and Cole.
Chapter Three
Sage
Ifeel like I’ve hardly been asleep at all before I’m being shaken awake.
“Wha . . .” My question is abruptly cut short and I glare at Kai who has his hand over my mouth.
He swallows nervously, my look having the desired effect.
He better have a damned good reason for putting his hand over my mouth. Unless we’re having sex and there’s a reason why I need to be quiet I do not fucking appreciate having hands put over my mouth. He puts his finger to his lips motioning for me to be quiet before he takes his hand away. I glance around and notice that Jax is waking the others up too but unlike the way that Kai woke me up, he taps out a pattern on their legs and when they awake they remain silent and alert. No need for them to be warned in any other way. It’s becoming so clear to me that not only have the guys had an incredible amount of training but also how long they have been a team.
Once we’re all awake I follow the guys lead and draw my swords, feeling slightly confused since I don’t really know what’s going on. Kai taps his ear and mouths listen to us. Once I focus on my hearing I can’t believe that I missed it in the first place. Coming from the right are the sound of approaching hooves. It occurs to me that maybe greeting them with our weapons drawn will send the completely wrong message. My tired and still half asleep brain also remembers that we can communicate using our Soulmate Bond although the guys seem to have forgotten that for the moment, instinctively reverting to the methods they’re more used to using.
“Guys, put the weapons away. People always meet aggression with aggression. They could be just passing by or friendly.”I send down the Bond link and receive sceptical looks in return.“Seriously. We can all draw our weapons quick enough if we need to. Let’s just act casually and not start a conflict where there doesn’t necessarily need to be one in the first place.”I suggest putting my swords away and walking towards the fire the boys have kept blazing throughout the night.
Reluctantly they all do the same although Kai pulls out one of his wickedly sharp knives and starts to clean under his fingernails earning an approving look from all of the other guys.
“What’s the plan for today then?” Levi ask’s aloud as we wait for the slowly approaching hooves to arrive.
It would be slightly suspicious if we were all sat here in silence.
“To grab some supplies from the nearest town I think. Although we need money to do that.” Jax frowns remembering our conversation from last night.
The trees rustle and we all turn in that direction just in time to see a large guy ride through. A demon judging from his curved horns. Bigger than I have seen on anyone in the Earth realm but not as big as Levi’s or Kai’s. His hair is a deep purple colour that could almost be mistaken for blue. His eyes are a similar shade but like Kai’s and Levi’s they seem to roll with flames. The most surprising and definitely epic thing about his appearance though is the pointed tail that whips out to the side before wrapping around his waist.
He looks shocked for some reason as he looks over all of us, more shocked than he should be considering that people camping in these woods should be a fairly normal occurrence, at least that’s what I’m assuming.
Levi stands as he approaches, the rest of us doing the same since if he is hostile we don’t want to be at a disadvantage.
