“I might need a bit of extra help but I should be able to keep them contained using my shield. We’re going to have to be quick though. I won’t be able to hold it for long.” Erin replies.
“That is so awesome.” I say. “I can’t wait to get there and see what I can do with my gifts.”
“Honestly you’re going to love the place.”
“Ok well the rest we’re just going to have to make up as we go. It’s starting to get dark now and the spot we chose to enter the city is about an hours ride away. Do you guys need rest?” Maverick asks, turning towards Dash.
“Nope we’re all good. Lets get this done.” He says sounding somewhat grimly excited.
“Excellent, everyone load up then. Kysen can lead the way.” Levi orders.
We quickly pack up the camp and get back on the horses. A thrill of excitement runs through me as I nudge Dave into a canter after the others. The darkness in me writhes with joy at the prospect of the bloody future that no doubt awaits us.
“Nyx, please let us all come back alive and in one piece.”I send up the silent prayer and my chest fills with warmth, letting me know that she heard my plea. I understand that she can only interfere as much as the Fates will allow but I also know that she will do everything she can to help us.
The ride to the meeting spot is fairly quiet and swift, all of us focusing on the upcoming mission. As soon as we arrive, in the hidden area within the trees where we met before we all get off the horse and move towards Levi, he’s automatically become the leader here even though individually the other two Bonded groups have their own leaders.
Hunter turns back towards the horses and his eyes glow with his magic for a moment before all of the horses incline their heads, almost as if they are bowing and move off in different directions through the forest.
“Erm shouldn’t we be panicking about that?” Erin asks, pointing in the direction that her horse trotted off in.
“Nope, Hunt just told them to hide and he’ll let them know when we need them back. At least that’s what I’m assuming he told them.” I say raising my eyebrow in question at Hunter.
“Pretty much.” He shrugs.
“We’re not the only ones that have learnt some pretty cool things, its seems.” Dash chuckles.
“It’s been a learning curve for sure.” Jax agrees.
“Alright from this point forward weapons drawn and try to communicate through the Bond, in theory we should be able to.” Levi orders seriously.
We all nod and start to follow him as he starts in the direction of the weak point Ghost saw. We aren’t that stealthy considering there’s so many of us and ideally we would split up but that’s just not possible at the moment since there’s only one weak point of entry and I’m not willing to split everyone up anyway. Although we are going to have to split up once we get into the castle. Some of us are going to have to stay with Erin when she hopefully blocks the guards in and some of us are going to have to go and locate the Centre’s and their Bonded and free them.
We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Ghost and Knot fly ahead blending in with the shadows and darkening trees perfectly. If I didn’t know they were there I wouldn’t have been able to see them.
We stay silent as we move through the thick trees and right up to the giant stone wall that surrounds the city, hugging it tightly so we’re not seen. By the guards above. Finally we make it to the entry point, we wait below for the guard to walk back to his station and then I watch as the others just start to climb. I hadn’t actually thought about how we’d get up the wall. Fortunately it seems like Supernaturals are just gifted with extra physical strengths and prowess as a standard at least the others have been. Here’s hoping I’m not excluded from that for some reason.
I climb up the rough stone wall with surprising ease and let out a small sigh of relief that I didn’t struggle like an idiot.
The descent on the other side is just as quick and surprisingly simple which I’m not entirely sure is a good thing. Just as the thought has formed in my mind two guards round the corner of the alley that we’ve just dropped down into.
Without any hesitation, Ty swings his sword and efficiently takes of the first guy’s head off as Kai does the same to the other. The darkness within me writhes with joy and I can almost picture it bounding around like a puppy at the show of violence and more so at the show of our matebeing violent.
The whole image is somewhat concerning if not slightly insane and I vow that after all of this is over not only will I tell the guys about the increasing sense of darkness that I can feel growing in strength inside me but also see if anyone at the academy can help me.
“Nice.” I mutter out loud unthinkingly and forgetting that we are supposed to be communicating through the Bond.
Erin grins at me widely and as Hunt, Kyle, Asher and Jax move the two bodies to where they are less likely to be found, she comes over to me her grin getting wider and speaking of mischief.
“Want to make this interesting?” She says quietly.
“You mean more interesting than it already is?” I ask pretending to think about it, “Abso-fucking-lutely. What did you have in mind?”
“How about the person who drops the most bodies buys the other dinner?” Erin questions.
“Deal. You still owe me drinks.” I smirk.
