Demon one-oh-one, at least that’s what I’m calling it. There’s quite a few other students in here. Guys and girls and they all look sombre and boring as fuck. Thank god I’ve got Levi and Damon in here with me. Apparently they teach the Demons and Gargoyles in the same class since there’s not enough of each to warrant separate classes. Trying to keep my demon side from coming out to play is like trying to wrestle a bear.

I am not a fan at all.

I can feel my fire wanting to play, I clench my fist and place it under the desk to try to curb the urge. I hope we learn some useful information in here.

I miss my Beautiful.

She has completely turned my world upside down. I never thought I could feel this way about anyone. I didn’t think it really existed outside of books and movies. The version of love that I had witnessed growing up was definitely nothing like this.

She didn’t have a nightmare last night but I still worry about her. I don’t think she’s aware that I know she gets them and since she never voluntarily brought it up I didn’t want to upset her further by bringing it up myself. The first time she sent one of her nightmares down the Bond I had no idea what was happening, since I was asleep too. Fortunately I was in bed with her so when I realised what was happening I cuddled her and whispered how everything was going to be ok and eventually she calmed. It didn’t take me long to realise that I was the only one she sent them to, whether I was lying next to her or not.

I’m still not sure why. I just know that I get to view them too and whenever she has them I do everything I can to help her and stop the awful nightmare from taking hold. I love how strong she is and how she somehow manages to handle everything that gets thrown at her. If she ever can’t quite manage it I can promise she has the five of us to help her throughwhatever she can’t handle.

I zone back into the lesson when the instructor walks in. He stands and stares at us all for ten minutes as if sizing us up.

“Is it me or does he have tiny baby horns?”I ask down the bond link to Levi.

He leans forward and squints slightly before nodding.

“And fangs too. That’s why he’s smiling so wide he’s showing them off!”He sends back.

“Why’s he just staring?” Damon asks, managing to stay surprisingly quiet for him.

“No idea, did you notice his horns and fangs?” I murmur quietly back to him.

Fortunately we aren’t the only ones talking so he doesn’t hear us. We share a look as the longer he stares the redder he gets as sweat starts to bead on his forehead.

“He’s either going to explode or fart.” I whisper and both Levi and Damon choke on their laughter, trying to cover it up as coughs.

“Eventually you will all be able to hold your full demon forms for as long as I just did.” The instructor starts proudly and I feel my eyes widen as I share yet another fucking look with the guys.

“Well fuck!” Damon mutters quietly summing it up perfectly.

“Now don’t worry you’ll get there. I imagine that by this point your claws might have come out once or twice or your fangs. Maybe your eyes have changed colour. This class is for demons and gargoyles since the two species have a similar background and learning curve. We used to have the demon classes split into what kind of demon you were but thanks to the drop in Centres and their Bonded, Supernaturals are feeling far less inclined to enroll in the training academy. I won’t get into why now. I’ll let your Realms instructor this afternoon get into all that with you.” He glances around at us all making sure we’re listening.

“Now I want you all to get into groups of three since the seating is set up like that anyway and practice pulling your individual gifts out. In this lesson all I’m expecting you to be able to do is to feel where your demon magic resides. If you can bring a small amount forward then I will be impressed. Eventually you will be learning how to use your gifts to fight and help detain various supernaturals who have broken our laws. You will also learn how to bring your various demon attributes to the forefront and keep them there for a short amount of time. Handy in a fight. Now get to it, I will be coming around to assist.” He finishes as the room starts to chatter.

Everyone’s wondering what the hell we should be doing since he actually gave us no instruction what so ever just, find your magic.

“Remember what Nicole said don’t show your true strength.” Levi reminds us and I grin.

I desperately want to play with my fire and now thatI’m thinking about it I realise that I don’t need to try to find my demon magic it’s always there and a part of me. I subtly glance around and noticing that the instructor who didn’t even bother to give us his name is on the other side of the room. I click my fingers and flames burst to life on the tips just like I envisioned. The flame seems to have a mind of its own though and as I move fingers weaves in and out of them like it’s playing.

Damon nudges my ribs.

“That’s so cool dude but not exactly subtle.” He chuckles.

“We can play later in the practice room.” Levi adds watching as I snuff the flames out.

“I don’t even know what gifts I have so I’m definitely up for that.” Damon chuckles.

“What the fuck did you just say to me!” Someone yells from across the room and we all turn to watch as two guys rise to their feet.

“I said some pussy whipped dickhead like you has no hope of actually finding their gifts.” The dark haired idiot gloats and I roll my eyes.

The instructor just leans back on his desk and smirks. That seems like the appropriate thing to do in this scenario, not.
