I mean I know my father’s own the agency but I can’t help but feel like there’s more to it, as freaking usual. They don’t tell me fuck all apparently. I finish getting dressed in flexible and easy to move in black jeans, a loose black top and you guessed it, a black hoody. I’m not saying I’m expecting to get blood on me at some point today, I’m just saying it’s easier to coverup on black. The guys are all dressed similarly to me.
“Hey Beautiful.” Kai greets as I step out of the bedroom and go in search for coffee.
“Hey!” I reply as I kiss him softly.
“Morning Darling.” Levi says handing me a steaming cup of my favourite thing ever, “There’s no food apart from protein bars but they had the good sense to stock the tiny ass kitchen with coffee making supplies.” He chuckles before kissing me and returning to get his own cup.
“Thank you!” I grin taking a sip and sighing heavily.
I place my coffee on the table as I lace up my boots and then look around for Jax, the only one I haven’t said good morning to yet.
“Hey guys, we got a letter posted under the door,” he starts and waves it around in one hand whilst he looks at a small stack of papers in his other, “this is so cool our schedules tell us what we are. For those that it’s not obvious,” he adds shooting Hunter a smirk, “Kai you’re a fire demon, Levi’s a higher demon,” Hunter and Mav explained briefly earlier when we were getting dressed about Levi being a higher demon so thankfully I’m not as lost as I would’ve been otherwise, “I’m a siren. That’s so freaking cool and Mav’s a fae,” He says and then bounds over to me, peppering my face in kisses, “and you my gorgeous, stunning Little Star are our witchy Centre!” He smirks and I giggle.
“That’s pretty cool. I mean I knew I was a demon of some kind.” Kai says landing on the couch next to me with a bounce. “What does the letter say?”
“Oh right yeah,” Jax replies and moves back, opening it and scanning it quickly before he frowns, “Ok so it’s from Nicole. It pretty much says we need to not let out our full supernatural forms at all in front of others. We all need to make out that it’s hard and we can’t do it. Erin and her team too. She said it’s of the upmost importance and to find her in her rooms after dinner tonight and she will explain. She adds that we need to make it appear particularly difficult in front of the Director,” he grimaces, “but we can use our enhanced strength, speed and gifts but Sage needs to stick to one, she suggests fire and we all need to make ourselves appear weaker than we are. She promises to explain later again.”
“Well fuck!” Maverick curses. “Do we trust her enough to follow her advice?”
“I trust her a hell of a lot more than I trust the fucking Director!” Levi curses.
“Pretty sure we all do.” Kai adds.
“A whole day of keeping our human glamours on sounds like fucking torture though.” Hunter groans.
“I think it might be a good idea. It can’t hurt to keep everyone guessing and honestly, she didn’t say don’t defend ourselves or anything like that just not to let on how powerful we are. Which is apparently powerful. It’s not like we have any idea really.” I say, “I hate the idea of keeping ourhuman glamours on but I’m starting to get the idea that the way we all feel about our human glamours isn’t actually the norm.” I finish.
“Yeah me too.” Jax agrees, “Alright human facades it is but if when we talk to her she doesn’t have a good reason for it then I’m not holding back. Having said that I don’t think we should walk around without our human glamours all the time. I don’t think everyone should know exactly how powerful we are and we need more information. That’s Maverick and Dash’s area of expertise.” He says making some really good points.
“Yeah we’ll go to the library tonight after the meeting with Nicole and see what we can find out. We better get going, I’ll go and tell Jett and the others what’s going on. They’re going to be as pleased as we are!” Maverick replies moving towards the door and pulling his human glamour on. “God that’s uncomfortable.” He mutters.
“Tell them to make sure they keep their marks that link to mine hidden as well even from Nicole. I don’t think it would be a good idea to show those off!” I call after him as I get up from the couch and stretch.
“Good idea, Darling!” Levi praises and I grin. “Alright lets go, I’m hungry and I get the feeling we’re going to need as much energy as we can get today.”
I groan as I stand up and pull on my human glamour the guys all doing the same.
“Damn that’s nasty. I feel like I’m fucking wearing one of those all in one Lycra suit things but three freaking sizes too small!” Hunter grumbles rolling his shoulders as if he’s trying to loosen it a bit.
“That’s a good way to describe it. It’s already making me fucking grouchy!” Kai pouts and although I get it I can’t help but giggle at the face he’s making.
“Alright let’s go!” Levi smirks ushering us out the door.
Erin and her team are already out there and looking just as freaking uncomfortable as we are.
“Well one things for certain, everyone is going to buy that we’re uncomfortable but they’ll definitely have the reason why wrong.” Nate points out.
“Silver lining I guess.” Jax grumbles as we all make our way downstairs to the dining hall where they serve all our meals.
It’s a good job we’ve got Erin with us because I’ve got no freaking idea where we are going or even if Becky pointed it out to us on her whirlwind tour yesterday. Fortunately all the stares being aimed our way are actually starting to amuse me more than piss me off. Don’t these people have anything better to do?
When we get to the dining hall, the entire place falls silent and everyone turns to stare. I can’t help but smirk.
Seriously with this?
Everyone’s on the same page as me though and we just carry one walking in. Not pausing in our mission to get food. Hunter practically runsto the hot plates filled with all sorts of breakfast foods. I have to say I’m slightly surprised at the variety and quality that’s being offered.
“They train us really fucking hard, they have to feed us well too.” Jett explains quietly as we all load up our plates and find a couple of tables near each other that we can all sit on. None of them being big enough for all of us.
