“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours?” She grins cheekily.
“Hell yeah, how could I refuse an offer like that?” I smirk, “it’s pretty cool you guys already have a matching tattoo!” I add and she frowns.
“We don’t?”
“AH fuck!” I groan, “you do now.”
“Without trying to sound weird I think I read about this. Are they on our left shoulders?” Dash asks.
“Yeah.” I reply as they all start to look at the design.
“If I’m right, then I think you guys should all have one too in the same place.” Dash tells us and my guys instantly strip their shirts as I move my t-shirt to the side exposing my left shoulder.
“Whoa yours is way bigger than ours!” Jett exclaims.
“Of course it fucking is. What does it look like?” I ask, I don’t have it in me to be surprised anymore.
“It’s got the two swords we saw that woman fighting with in the vision, and a shield in the middle like ours but yours is then surrounded by a ring of runes whereas we’ve all only got the one. All of our Runes are on you!” Levi explains, leaning in close and studying it.
“What’s it mean?” Jett asks.
“More to the point, how did you know that we’d all have them?” Damon asks Dash.
“I found a book in the restricted section of the library but it only mentioned that the Goddess Nyx had her Soulmate Bonded men but also had her most trusted protectors and that each one was marked with her mark to prove their loyalty and status.” He says and we all look at him.
“And?” Jett asks impatiently.
“And what? That was it, that was all the book said.” He shrugs and I groan.
“That’s what Nyx meant!” I say and suddenly wide eyes are turned to me.
“I could’ve sworn that you just said Nyx, as in the goddess Nyx?” Erin exclaims and I nod.
“Yeah everyone sit down and I’ll explain. I haven’t forgotten about the whole lying parent thing but I can’t deal with that now especially since they won’t answer my calls anyway!” I sigh heavily and Hunter pulls me down next to him and I snuggle into his massive body, that apparently gives off a hell of a lot of heat now. The movies got that right at least, wolf shifters apparently run hot.
“I went down when I was trying to get to you guys to check you were alright, my magic apparently wrapped me up so the guys couldn’t get to me while I was out. The goddess Nyx spoke to me, she said that the birth rate of Centre’s and their Bonded hasn’t gone down but that the Order have developed a way to detect and take them as young as infants. They are building an army and she wants us to save them.” I start and I have their full attention as I continue to tell them what happened.
When I’m done I sit back and watch them warily. It’s quite an amazing thing that I’m asking them to believe and I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t.
“Holy fuck!” Kyle exclaims, “Well we aren’t ever going to be bored arewe?” He chuckles and everyone joins in.
“It’s ok Beautiful, we’ve got this!” Kai smiles softly.
“Together.” Erin smiles but as her smile turns into grin that already has me smiling wondering what she’s going to say next, “So, what was she like, all regal and shit right? Was she stuck up?”
“Erin that’s the goddess you’re talking about, who is now suddenly less of a vague notion and is an actual being which means everything that we’ve been learning about is actual truth or close to it. Events in history always end up getting warped and twisted a bit.” Dash starts a cute little ramble and before anyone can reply, Maverick’s joined in.
“I need to know everything that they’ve taught you so far. We need as much information as we can get if we’re going to rescue the Centre’s and Bonded. Can you get me into the restricted section?”
“Sure I’ll take you after classes tomorrow. You mind some company?”
“Definitely not. It’d be nice to study with someone for a change, these dicks couldn’t care less!” Mav chuckles gesturing to the guys and I smirk sharing a look with Erin.
“Nerd-gasm!” We say together and promptly fall about laughing.
“Do we want to know?” Kyle asks and we both shake our heads.
What can I say nerds are hot, especially my nerd.
