Page 98 of An Omega for the Lycan Prince
“Is it going to work so fast?” I asked the doctor nervously. “Or should we use additional protection?”
The doctor smiled at me. “We worked on the formula ourselves, and it’s made to be used for werewolves and Lycans. Give it an hour for your werewolf genes to latch onto it properly, then you are safe.”
The hour we used to eat something.I made sure to wait an additional hour, but nothing was stopping us anymore.
We decided to sleep in Liam’s bungalow for some privacy. In the dead of the night, I step out onto the veranda to collect my thoughts.
It’s a warm night. There is a slight wind rustling through the trees, and I can hear the chirping of a few crickets. And… It’s then that I hear a few noises. Giggling, chatting, rustling. I silently walk to the other side of the veranda and see several teens in the secluded area between the bungalow and the forest. I know one of them, at least.
“Aurelia?” I whisper.
The kids’ heads shoot up, looking around in surprise. Aurelia is up on her feet immediately. “Annalise?”
“Yes,” I chuckle. “It’s me.”
“Shhhh." She whispers, scooting closer. The others are following her. One of the guys with her is Nox, and I remotely register that the others are her age too. I think she even introduced me to them during pack training.
“Is she Alpha Liam’s mate, Terry?” one of the girls, a cute blonde with a round face and shoulder-length hair, whispers.
“Yes, Tori.” The boy, Terry, is quite tall, and a bit lanky. He is still growing into his features. He looks kind, though.
“Then he is probably around, too,” Tori whispers.
“That’s bad,” Terry agrees.
I am a bit amused that they are having this whole conversation right in front of me.
“What are we going to do now, Aurelia?” another guy, quite tall and muscular, wants to know. He sounds a bit more confident than the others, but his slightly insecure gaze betrays his bravado. He has wild dark blonde hair and looks like an Alpha. Aurelia introduced me to him also, I realize. What was his name… Lionel? She teased him by calling him Lion.
Goddess, how will I ever remember all these names?
Looking at them now, I can’t help but grin a bit. It’s obvious they snuck out of the packhouse for some fun. Typical teens. Aurelia seems to be the only one who isn’t looking at me scared. Wary, careful, but not scared. Liam is right. She is fearless and smart, and she has potential.
“Annalise?” Aurelia starts again. “We- “
“Call me Annie, please.”
“Annie,” she pauses. “Where is Liam?”
“Asleep,” I grin, noticing how a sigh of relief goes through the bunch. “Better keep your voice down.”
“I didn’t know you were staying here tonight,” she explains with a sigh.
Figured. She is too smart to sneak out and then basically camp in front of her older brother’s house when he is currently there. “It was a spontaneous decision,” I smile.
“Did he show you the pack?” She wants to know.
“Yes, I think I saw most of it.”
“And?” Lionel now approaches us, too; he eyes me expectantly.
“It’s beautiful,” I smile brightly. “I have never seen such a beautiful place before. It’s no surprise you are all so proud of Silverlake.”
Terry now grabs Tori’s hands and pulls her with him closer to us. “It is, right?” he beams. He nods toward the girl. “That’s my younger twin sister, Tori. I’m Terrence.”
“It’s nice to meet you two.” My heart melts a bit. I turn to look at the other two guys. “You are Lionel and Nox, right? I saw you when I visited the training grounds earlier.”
Nox seems surprised that I remember their names. Gladly he doesn’t know the effort that goes into keeping all these faces and names straight without mixing them up. “Yes, Miss Annalise,” he says politely.
