“But-”
“I will do it,” Elden interrupts us. “I don’t fear Liam’s wrath.” He pauses and smirks. “Well, not much.”
I contemplate his offer. Despite Elden always being respectful and kind towards me, I’m still a bit scared of him. However, being trained by him… sounds like a great honor.
I could probably learn a lot more from him than from anyone else.
But Iron Alpha Elden?
“Would that really be…” I shift around a bit. “Do you really not mind? I don’t know how to fight at all.”
He chuckles. “I wouldn’t have offered if I hadn’t meant it. I fully support your wish to be able to defend yourself. I deem it important too.”
What do you say, Leah?
No clue,Leah seems to be uncertain too.Worth a try. He is mate’s father. Strong. He can teach us how to protect ourselves and… him.
You mean protect Liam?I want to know.
Better be prepared for everything. Who knows? Also, I have heard Lycan wolves know how to make the human connect more to their wolf. Doesn’t that sound cool? Our connection could grow. It would make us stronger.
I take a deep breath. “Thank you,” I say with a crooked smile. “Not sure if I will regret it, but I would appreciate your help.”
“You won’t regret it,” Elden says, amused.
We start right away. Elden waits for me to switch into my training clothes, and then he leads me to a more secluded training area. I assume it’s his own private training space. I’m glad, though. The last thing I want is prying eyes watching me fail.
Training with Elden is a new experience. He is demanding and strict, but he knows how far he can push someone. He praises and encourages in the right moments and pushes and demands in others. I slowly understand why Liam looks up to him so much. As hard as it probably was for a teen to train like that, it probably meant to encourage Liam to grow and get results. What amazes me more is how well he understands my wolf though. I always thought as an Omega, we couldn’t really train our wolves’ minds to get stronger, but after just one training with Elden, I can already feel my connection to her growing.

Chapter 42 A Luna’s advice
*ANNALISE*
“Thankyouforyourtime,” I tell Elden as I dry my forehead with my towel. “You helped me a lot. Would it be possible to repeat that? I mean… I don’t want to ask too much. I know you don’t have a lot of time, but…”
“Of course,” Elden interrupts me and saves me from babbling on and on. He smiles at me. “Anytime. You did very well.”
I look at him skeptically. “I don’t think so but thank you for trying to raise my spirits.”
He laughs slightly. “You think I’m just saying this to make you feel better?”
I shrug.
“Considering this was the first time you have done something like battle training, I think you did well. You listened well. You tried to follow my instructions. You stayed focused and concentrated.”
“That’s the least I could do,” I point out.
He smirks. “Maybe I’m just used to my teenage kids who like to push my buttons.”
I laugh. “Maybe.”
“That’s why Liam does the training for the younger wolves,” he explains. “He is better at it than I am. He is a bit more patient.”
I nod thoughtfully. I know Liam loves working with the younger wolves, and he really is good at training them.
Elden looks at me. “May I ask you something, Annalise?”
