Great, other mates have sweet nicknames, and get called babe or pumpkin… or I don’t know… pop tart, poopie pants… I heard sweetpea and honeyboo once too…
Okay, on second thought, I love octopus! They are ethereal, intelligent animals. I'd rather be an octopus than being compared to a massive orange vegetable or poop in your pants.
“A penny for your thoughts,” he chuckles.
“Believe me,” I grin. “It’s definitely not worth the money.”
He chuckles again, before kissing me lazily. I doze off shortly afterwards, being lulled into a deep, calming and nightmare-less sleep.
Chapter fifty-six
Chapter 56 Chunky Bunky and Sugar Daddy
*ANNALISE*
“WAHHHHHH,Imissedyouso much!!” Dave squeals into his phone, almost making my ear explode.
“Goddess, Dave,” Ella grins, stretching out on my bed.
Liam and I have completely redecorated the Alpha and Luna suite, though some parts still need work. Liam wants new doors, and I want to renovate the kitchen. It’s still not completely done, but we are getting there. The building is well thought out, built with good sturdy material, and designed smartly to accommodate as many people as possible. It just looks ugly. But we are working on it.
“Wait a bit with your excitement,” I grin. “Celine and Finn are not on yet.”
We decided to get the whole group together and have a group video call. With all the craziness going on, I haven’t seen any of them recently.
“I’m here,” Finn blurts out happily when his video pops up on the screen. “Where is Celine?”
“Here,” Celine’s voice can be heard. She still seems to fumble with her camera before we can see her face as well. “Hi, guys.”
“You look even hotter than before,” Dave compliments her.
“Thanks,” she chuckles. “You too, Dave.”
“We should start setting up a day to meet, maybe every other week,” Ella points out. “So we can see each other regularly.”
“Good idea,” Celine nods.
“I can’t wait to visit my classes in person again,” I comment. “It’s not the same doing them online.”
“Will you attend all classes in person?” Finn asks.
“No, I’ll need to do some of them online, but I would like to go to the most important one in person. Liam is very supportive and is happy I want to finish my studies.” I would never drop my education. Of course, things are great now, but you never know how things could progress and develop or what the future holds for me. But no matter what happens, no one can ever take my education from me.
“So, tell me everything,” Dave insists. “Did you beat the bad guys? Is everything and everyone well again? And… Annie, you’re the queen bitch now?” he inquires with a grin.
I drop down on the bed next to Ella, giggling madly at Dave’s comparison. “Close enough,” I chuckle.
“And Ella’s rank went up?”
“Through the roof,” Finn states proudly.
“Okay, tell me everything.” Dave grabs a bowl of popcorn and a can of beer. “I’m listening.”
So, we fill him in on what happened over the last week. I honestly can’t believe all that took place in just a few days. Dave asks questions here and there but mostly listens. His expression morphs from surprised, worried, shocked and finally amazed. “Unbelievable,” he mutters after we finish telling him everything.
We chat a bit longer when the door suddenly opens, and Dante and Liam appear. Liam has a folder in his hands. I know he wants to go through the pack’s finances with Dante. We are not short on money. Liam and his family are wealthy, but Liam wants to make sure that our pack grows and invests properly.
“I apologize,” Liam says when he notices us. “We didn’t want to invade your privacy and interrupt your meeting.”
