“As it was Alpha Liam’s and Luna Annalise’s wish, we will follow with the acceptance of the new pack members to Red Claw as well.” Samuel takes a parchment scroll and hands it to me.
I nod. Now it’s finally getting a bit more interesting. “I will call each one of you. Step forward and speak your oaths to the pack. It will sever your ties with your previous pack and make you officially part of Red Claw.”
We decided to include Dante and Aryanna in this ceremony as well. Although they had already become members of the pack, they wanted to show Red Claw how seriously they take our new pack.
I start with Dante, then Aryanna; each of them pledging their loyalty towards Red Claw. I was a bit scared when it was Marius’ turn… I almost expected him to spit on the floor and stomp off. Thankfully, just like Dante and Ari, he takes his part in the ceremony seriously, pledging his loyalty to the pack and me. The other members of Silverlake and the members of Crescent Moon follow, and, lastly, I happily welcome Emerson, Daisy, Fleur, and Emily.
Once it’s done, I link Annalise.Words can’t describe how you look today, my love.
It’s all thanks to your mother, she tells me.
No, my mother just made sure to accentuate what’s already there. To have everyone see you the way I see you every day.
To my surprise, I can see a slight flush on her cheeks.I wish you would also know how I see you, Liam, and what you mean to me.
Your love is all I need,I state.Knowing you love me spurs me on every day to be the best possible Alpha and mate.
She turns her head and smiles warmly at me.
I hear the crowd whispering a bit at the gaze we share, probably envious of how lucky I am to have this angel at my side. But she is mine, I think with pride. My mate.
“In the Top Five of the most boring ceremonies?” Felix asks with a grin.
When our father looks at him warningly, he scoots to the side a bit, pushing Dario forward instead.
“But Annie looked so beautiful,” Aurelia states. “Seriously, she looks stunning! I couldn’t take my eyes off her.”
“Pretty sure you were not the only one,” Finn points out dryly.
I can’t help but feel a stab of jealousy but also pride. I just chuckle in amusement while my mother pulls me into a warm hug. Then, the rest of my family follows. They look so proud and happy for me; it touches my heart.
“Where is Marius?” my father asks, noticing that he is missing.
I sigh. “Probably left already.”
“I can’t believe it,” Dad huffs.
“Come on, Dad,” I smile at him. “Not today, all right? After all, he followed protocol throughout the whole ceremony.”
“Yes,” my father mutters. “Little Emily followed protocol as well and she is five. All she needed was Emerson holding her hand.”
“Maybe you should have done that?” Finn asks dryly. “Hold his hand?”
Vincent bursts into laughter, to which Felix and Aurelia join in swiftly. Even Aurel and Edward, who are normally more reserved, chuckle. For a split second, I am not sure if Finn’s words will piss off my father further, but then his humor comes through, and his lips tug slightly. “Next time, I might consider it.”
“He will be thrilled,” I chuckle.
We get interrupted by a ruckus going down next to us. My in-laws are currently hugging Annalise tightly. Rosalee has tears in her eyes while Brian is full on crying. He blows his nose loudly. “I can’t believe how beautiful my baby looks,” he sobs, thankfully nodding at Harmony when she hands him another handkerchief. She exchanges an amused glance with Alpha Cedric and Celine.
Soon, Steve joins in the family hug until Annalise and Rosalee have enough. Rosalee laughs and pulls back while Annalise pushes her father and brother away with a chuckle. Steve grabs her hand, his eyes widening when he sees the ring on her fingers. “Dad,” he blurts out. “There is a freaking ring. She is going to marry him!? We will lose her forever now!”
“I can’t freaking believe it,” Harmony mutters sarcastically, side eyeing Steve and Brian.
“I know,” Brian dries his eyes. “Liam asked Rosalee and me beforehand. Unfortunately, your mother was really into the idea.”
“See,” my father mutters. “One of my sons can follow protocol without me holding his hand.”
Finn and Felix burst into laughter again while Dario and Aurelia exchange a grin. Then the whole crew congratulates both of us. Loudly.
