Page 194 of An Omega for the Lycan Prince
Jun opens the car door for me before accompanying me to the restaurant. Ella follows suit after checking our surroundings.
“Annie!” Finn calls out from our table. He stands up, pulling me into a tight hug. “I’m so glad to see you again. You look fantastic!”
“I agree!” Dave beams, tugging me out of Finn’s arms and into his own.
Celine grabs my hands and squeezes them tightly. Even Anders goes as far as to pat my shoulder.
Looking past Celine, I eye my sister. Of course, she is here as Celine’s Beta. There is also another young pack warrior with them. “Harmy!” I call out in joy, hurrying past the others to hug her.
“Annie,” Harmony wraps her arms around me tightly. Her voice sounds almost a bit strained. “Goddess, I’m so glad to see you. And you look so well, and… you grew up so much… when did all of this happen?”
I pat her back softly. “Hey, Harmy, you know… Dad and Steve are the dramatic ones?”
Harmony chuckles through her tears.
“And here is my girl, El!” Dave squeals when he sees her. He kisses her cheek playfully. “Jesus, babe, where are those muscles coming from! Wow, remind me not to piss you off.”
Ella rolls her eyes, but I can see how proud she is. Her mood has been really good recently. She even allows Finn to pat her head teasingly without biting his hand off.
“How are Mom and Stevie doing?” Harmony asks.
“Good. Steve is training with the pack warriors and helps Liam a lot. He has grown so much, Harmony. I can’t believe it. He is going to leave for Moon Blood tomorrow, though.” I sigh. “And mom is hitting it off with Flora. They are basically inseparable. I think Elden and Dad will have tough times coming up for them,” I grin.
Finn snorts. “A week with my mother, and she corrupts everyone,” he says.
“Yeah, I’m still traumatized by that talk we had in the kitchen when she said the way to an Alpha’s heart is riding his cock,” Ella mutters. “Later on, Flora repeated it in front of Rosalee, and Rosalee agreed, saying it works the same with Betas.”
Finn grimaces and gags while Dave, Celine and Harmony burst into laughter. It’s rare for both of them to laugh like that.
“Your mother, Finni,” Dave sighs. “Sounds like my soul mate.”
“You can obviously never meet her!” Finn exclaims in panic. “I don’t even want to know what the two of you would talk about.”
Once we sit down at our table and order our food, Dave’s gaze catches Jun.Oh my god, he voices quietly towards Ella and me once he notices him. “You, honey, look like you jumped right out of my wet dream.”
Ella and I suppress a groan, whereas Finn and Celine hardly react.
Jun looks at him evenly. “Thank you,” he says in a matter-of-fact tone. “You are very attractive too.”
Ella snorts into her drink while Finn and I almost break down laughing. Not even Anders, Harmy or Celine can contain their amusement.
Dave’s expression is hilarious. His mouth drops open in disbelief, and it seems like he wants to say something, but no sound leaves his lips.
“Did I say something wrong?” Jun asks me.
I chuckle. “Not at all, Jun.”
Dave recovers fast, though. “Talking about hot guys… what was that talk about you probably sniffing out your mate, Celine?”
Celine shrugs. “I’m not working too hard to find him.”
“Why’s that?” Ella asks curiously. “Believe me, I’m the first one who can understand. That’s why I ask.”
“Because I’ll never leave Moon Blood, I can’t. I’m the heir to the Alpha position, and they’re relying on me,” she says firmly, but I can hear the underlying fear hidden in her tone. She is scared of being rejected. “No matter who my mate is, I can’t leave my pack behind. That’s a fact. And…”
“You are scared of being rejected,” Ella concludes. She squeezes Celine’s hand. “Take this from someone who had the same fears. It’s worth the risk.”
We are all silent for a moment before Dave skilfully changes the topic. He turns towards Jun, smiling at him. His perfect seductive smile. Dave is pretty and charming. It’s easy for him to get another person’s attention. “Jun, was it?”
