“Most wolves like it.”
“But you don’t,” he points out.
“No,” I say.
“So, what made you think I like it?”
I am at a loss for words. To my surprise, though, Liam turns his head to the side suddenly. “Sorry, I am making things awkward again, aren’t I?” he says.
At that moment, realization dawns on me. Without our wolves, we are just two people who barely know each other. Just two normal people. “Do you want to leave and go to a quieter place? There is a pub in this area. I quite like it.”
Liam nods and takes my hand. He kisses it softly, making my heart flutter. The things this man is doing to me…
Ari has hooked up with a young wolf, so Liam tells her to meet us later while we grab our stuff and leave.
Chapter ten
Chapter 10 One question – one answer
*ANNALISE*
“IthinkIneedmore than one beer,” Liam chuckles. He is so much more relaxed now than when I first met him. He raises an eyebrow. “So clubbing isn’t your thing either?”
I shrug. “I wanted to do something you would enjoy.”
“Well, I certainly did enjoy the evening,” he says, his eyes locking with mine for a moment. His lips tug into a teasing smile.
I blush. He’s so bold.
He doesn’t give me the chance to be embarrassed, though. Instead, he asks, “What do you like doing?”
I look at him tentatively, hesitant to answer.
He looks at me with surprise. “You are speechless? I must be dreaming?” His gaze turns into one of worry. “Or did I say something wrong again?”
“No,” I make a dismissive gesture with my hand. “It’s just… I don’t want to appear too geeky.”
His interest only seems to grow at that. “Goodness, Annalise, you know how to raise the tension. If you aren’t going to tell me anytime soon, I will start guessing.”
“Please do so,” I giggle. He is acting so juvenile and laidback right now. It’s heart-warming.
“You collect dolls… the creepy ones who always stare at you,” he begins. “And you keep them on your bedside table.”
“No way!” I laugh, shuddering slightly.
“You love unicorns,” he continues.
“Oh, that I indeed do,” I admit.
He just chuckles. “You like clowns,” he continues.
“What!?” I squeal.
“You cross-dress,” he muses. “And are into bug fights.”
I burst into hysterical laughter. “That’s a thing?”
He nods, a big grin on his face. “My twin brothers found out. I think they had the short-lived plan to make a little bug-sized arena and have bugs fight there. They also planned on having a little labyrinth for them and holding racing competitions. Eventually, my father intervened because their first set of bugs got free and found their way into his office during an Alpha meeting. One of the Lunas there almost had a heart attack, especially after my mother caught one of the bugs and gleefully showed it to her.”
