He reaches out his hands again. This time he brushes over my naked shoulders, his thumbs rubbing over my collarbone. My skin tingles.

I look up at him, noting how one of his eyes isn’t icy blue anymore. Instead, it’s dark brown. “Fenris?” I shake my head, noting how his other eye is still blue. “No, it’s both of you. You can have both yourself and Fenris on the surface?”

He nods, his gaze still fixed on my neck.

“How?”

“I have trained. It’s one of my gifts if you want to call it that.”

I was so preoccupied with drooling over him that I never asked him about his gifts as a wolf. “What else can you do?”

“Kiss us first,” he demands. “Or Fenris won’t want to back down.”

I smile, grabbing him by his shirt and pulling him towards me, smashing our lips together. He wraps his arms around me. “Bold,” he grins against my lips. He holds me tighter, lifting me up. I wrap my legs around his waist, feeling how he turns us over until my back hits the wall. One of his hands is still pressed against my butt and the other moves to my shirt. It’s a stretchy material, easy to tug into any direction. There are sleeves, but they rest below my shoulders. He easily tugs the shirt down further, revealing my bra.

Thank goddess I listened to Dave and bought new underwear. It’s a strapless bra with hooks in the front. Liam seems to be instantly drawn to it. He glances up at me. His eyes are glinting with want, though they are back to their usual blue color now.

“Oh, I see,” I tease. “It’s all Fenris, huh? Always blaming the poor wolves.”

The kitchen timer draws us out of our lust with its consistent loud beeping. Whatever Liam is cooking seems to be ready.

He bends towards my ear before he allows me to slip down. “You have one heck of a cheeky, sassy mouth, my mate. I can't wait for you to put it to good use.”

I flush furiously at his words, my heart skipping a beat. It looks like my non-existent mouth filter has gotten me in trouble again. However, this time seems to be the best, most awesome trouble I've ever been in.

Liam lets me down, watching as I put my clothes into place again. “You look hot,” he states while turning to his oven.

I smile happily.

To diffuse the sexual tension in the air – I don’t want to go right to dessert without having tasted his actual cooking – I decide to continue my interrogation. “So, what about your gifts?”

He glances at me. “You didn’t forget.”

“Of course not.”

“One gift I have is… I can make people tell me the truth.” He pauses. “No, that’s worded wrongly. It’s not a mind control thing, but I can ask questions and instantly know if they’re lying. I can steer the conversation to my liking then, manipulate it until I find out what’s going on.”

I think this through. “That sounds pretty useful,” I muse. “But it must have been hard to train and develop.”

“Yeah,” he states, there is a hint of bitterness in his voice. “Like everything about me.”

I touch his arm softly. It’s a sore topic, it seems. “You can tell me one gift a day,” I say with a smile.

He snorts in amusement. “You think I have that many?”

“It doesn’t need to be supernatural gifts,” I smile at him. “Today, I learned you can cook, you are a lie detector, and you like fancy bras.”

He smacks my butt as I walk past him. “Back to being cheeky, I see,” he smirks.

I laugh.

“Here,” he hands me two glasses of wine. “Take these along to the dining room. I will follow with our dinner.”

When he serves us dinner, I realize that everything Liam does seems to be… neat. He has decorated the plate perfectly. There is a medium-rare steak, thinly sliced, on mushroom risotto with a bit of tomato cucumber salad perfectly placed at its side, dark balsamic sprinkled over it.

He is a perfectionist. Oh shit.

“You look shocked,” he states. “Anything wrong?”
