Story: Scarred Assassin
If this man asked us if we ever involved in any sexual assault, they would think about it and Jordan’s name would come up.
“Do you think Troy or Rick were ever involved in sexual assault? Maybe they have an illegal brothel, or they traffic girls?”
Troy did that, but Rick didn’t. Rick was peaceful with a pregnant wife, even though he had a terrible past that bit his ass ten years later.
“My sons weren’t involved in things like that.” Stupid old liar. “Troy was a businessman and Rick was a peaceful man. Do your research well on this Alex, I need to know who he is.”
They still think Alex was a boy, jokes on them.
“Alex drops evidence of illegal sexual activities only after killing the criminals, we should expect evidence of Troy and Rick’s involvement in such before taking any step.” Did Jordan have any evidence for Rick? I mean there should be evidence for Troy, tons in fact. He literally groomed and sold girls for a living.
“My sons are dead. Two of six sons killed by a mystery guy and all you have to say is ‘wait for evidence.’ What part of ‘trace this Alex for me’ don’t you understand?”.
“I am trying sir, but Alex doesn’t have any properties or anything in his name.”
I heard a‘because you think I’m stupid’ from Jordan and I almost laughed as I imagined what she looked like, talking to herself.
“And as for the majority that I mentioned earlier, the news aired that they are planning to write a petition to Alex, to form his own justice squad since they think he does it better than the cops.”
My dad snorted at Mr Tee’s statement, shaking his head in total disbelief.
I heard a small gasp from Jordan as she turned on the television. I’d loved to be with her at this moment, to see and hear how she felt about this news. She had always been a fan of justice and being asked to create her own justice squad with the support from the majority would help her leave hiding.
“I’ll find this Alex, and when I do find him, he will regret ever being born,” my dad threatened. He wasn’t lying, he could do it, He could make Jordan’s life a living hell unless Jordan did it first, which she could because she was no longer the little girl that I wished I had protected.
‘Not if I find you first,’ Jordan said. I heard rustling and the jingle of keys.‘Jayden, Sam dies in a week.’My head snapped to my brother, who was completely oblivious to the fact that his time was ticking.
‘Tell on me to stop me.’
I’d never, I’d never do that.
I heard her lock the door of her house, where was she going? She lit up her car engine and drove off to where I’d know very soon if she didn’t remove her interlink.
“Mr Tee, you said Alex only kills whoever is involved in sexual assault, right?” Sam asked and I gulped. Where was he heading with this?
“Yes, Mr. Sam.”
“And you said he’s mostly on a sent mission?”
“It seems so, I’m still investigating. Finding his first kill will help us find out who he is even more.”
‘Ouu he’s smart,’Jordan complimented and I wondered how she wasn’t scared or nervous about all this.
She didn’t seem to be fazed by the fact that she might be caught really soon, while I was dying inside at the thought that she might one day be found, punished and finally killed.
This girl was going to give me a cardiac arrest some day, I was sure of it.
“Three weeks. You have three weeks to find out all about Alex,” dad barked. Mr Tee nodded and stood up. He shook my dad’s hand and left.
Sam would be dead in a week, which meant he would know who Alex was by then.
It was such an irony. Nobody would know who Alex was until it was their turn to die. It was thrilling to hear and scary to experience.
“What did Dana say?” Dad asked Sam who sighed.
“Dana is at the hospital. She’s in shock and can’t speak. Only her mom is allowed to visit her for now, she should be able to tell us something when she recovers.”
“How did she even get to her mother’s place if they were both in Westland?”
