Story: Scarred Assassin
“Do you have a death wish?”
“Oh come on, don’t be so mean to me. Just today, and I’ll never ask you again.”
“I have things to do. I’ve never seen you work, don’t you have anything to do?”
“I’ve only ever had four things on my to-do list.” I held up my fingers to count. “Find Flower, be with Flower, kill with Flower, and finally run away with Flower.”
“For the last time, Jayden Antonio, we won’t be running away together, ever.”
“Why did you call me by my full name?” She shrugged as I asked.
“Just trying to remind myself that you are an Antonio.”
I slumped my shoulders and twisted my lips. She still had something against me. It wasn’t like I was innocent or trying to be, but I didn’t expect her to still associate me with my family.
I’d never be on her good side, would I?
“You haven’t forgiven me. You never want to be with me, so why am I here?”
“You act like I called you,” she sneered.
I was losing my patience with her. She was treating me like I was nothing. “So I’m only here so you can fuck me in the night and be mean to me in the morning?”
“Jayden leave,” she turned her back to me and proceeded into the bathroom, but I pulled her and backed her to the wall.
“You will listen to me, Jordan Kamari Vincenzo.” She raised an amused eyebrow before smirking at me. She wasn’t taking me seriously. I tugged her harder and she scowled at me. “What do you want from me? I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, what else do you want from me?”
“Leave my fucking life and go to your house to wait for your turn to fucking die.”
“I begged you, I beg you everyday. I said I’m sorry, I said please let me love you, I BEGGED.”
“IT’S NOT ENOUGH,” she bit back at me. “Your fucking sorry is not enough. You and your family ruined my life and I’m never forgiving you for that. I have every right to not forgive you, Jayden, I have every fucking right.”
She was right, she always was, but where did I stand? I wasn’t right, but was I wrong? All I knew was that Jordan didn’t care where I stood in the middle of all these. I was an Antonio and that was all that mattered to her.
“Flower I…”
“I hate you, Jayden, I swear you have no idea how much I hate you. If you knew, you wouldn’t be here.”
“You didn’t say this when you came on my dick last night, or the nights before that.”
Her smirk returned to her face as she stared at me with so much hate in her hazel eyes. “You came on to me yourself, you’ve always come to me yourself. Do you remember what you said last night?” I kept quiet as she sniggered and pushed my chest. “You saidUse me.”
“You want to be alone, okay be alone. You want me to leave, fine I’ll leave. I tried, Jordan. I tried very hard to make up for it. I was stupid, agreed, I was a coward, agreed. But the truth is, you’re a coward too.” She glanced up at me, her brows slightly creasing, and I gave a small dark chuckle that held no amusement.
“I’m here right now. I’ve been here a couple of times before. You’ve seen me unguarded and vulnerable.” I snorted as I thought about it even deeper. “You’ve seen menaked, yet you haven’t tried to hurt me once.” Her eyes darkened and she threw a glare at me.
“Don’t,” she warned, but I raised my hand to stop her as I moved closer to her.
“I dare you, Jordan, I dare you to hurt me right now. My name is on your list, isn’t it? Then kill me right now and clear it off.” I held her hand and placed it on my neck. “Strangle me. Strangle me and kill me right now, I dare you.”
She rushed to the bathroom and locked the door. “You can’t hide in there forever, come out and talk to me.” I rested my head on the bathroom door for a while, before I sighed in defeat and left the door.
I was mad at her, so mad at her because she was being unfair to me. She kept treating me like a piece of shit, like I was worth nothing to her.
I sat on the bed to think about where I went wrong in trying to get her to forgive me. She loathed my family so much and I couldn’t help but think that she only hated me because I was also an Antonio. Would it all change if I changed my name?
The only reason I didn’t change my name before was because I wanted it to be easier for her to find me, but now that I met her, I realized that she never tried to find me. Well she did, but it was only to kill me and nothing else.
