Story: Scarred Assassin
Death.
“You fucking bitch, you killed my sons,” he barked, slamming his fist on the table beside him.
“All. Of. Them,” I seethed. “And Uncle Cedric…” I mocked his name, “I’d do it again.”
“You,” he pointed at one of the men. “Hit her until she begs you to stop,” he said and I snickered.
I never begged. I was Alex, people beggedme.
The man came to me, flexed his hands and gave me a big punch in the mouth. The punch was so heavy that it threw my face to the left.
Fucking Lilith, mother of hell, his hand hurt like crazy. I tried to take a minute to adjust, but he gave me another punch, throwing my face to the right.
I tasted blood in my mouth and that was when I knew my lips had busted. He punched me again and again, while I winced as I had no time to adjust to the pain. He stopped and I peered at him through my hooded eyes. My lips curled up in a dark sly smirk, while the guy stared at me like I had gone insane.
“I’ll do really bad things to you, boy.” He scoffed mockingly at me. He must definitely be underestimating me, probably wondering how I planned to take on seven men all by myself. “Just run the moment you guess I might break loose because if I do…” I stared straight into his eyes until I saw a flash of fear run past. “I’m coming for you first.” He gave me another punch and my head fell to the front.
“Stop,” Cedric commanded. He stood up and walked closer to me, but I didn’t lift my head to look at him. He got to me and kicked my chair, which fell and I winced in pain when my head hit the floor. “You killed my sons.” He kicked my stomach and I coughed out blood. Through my hooded eyes, I could see Gideon fighting to free himself on the floor.
“Tell me something I don’t know,” I snapped back as one of the guards bent down to my level and cut my ropes with a knife. My eyes went to the guy who had punched me earlier and I smirked at him. Cedric lifted me up with my hair and I groaned, my scalp hurting like shit.
He tugged my hair and spat on my face. “You are acting like a fucking victim when everything happened because of you. If Laura hadn’t been pregnant with you, Chris would have died. She promised me.” He whined like a child and slapped me. “She promised me we would kill him, then suddenly she got pregnant and realized she loved him.”
“Your mother is a bitch.” He kicked my stomach again and pushed me backward with my hair. I winced as my body fell. I immediately grabbed my head to stop the ache, but it did nothing to soothe my pain.
“Yeah, I figured that out.” I struggled to get the words out and clawed my fingers on the floor. The pain kicked in and it felt like I was being thrown into fire.
“You even turned Jayden against me. He followed you to South Africa, didn’t he?” He asked and I realized that his investigator must have trailed us in South Africa.
“He did? Sorry, I didn’t notice,” I joked and my hand gripped my stomach to keep it from hurting so much. He twitched in anger.
He didn’t need to shoot me, the pain in my stomach was enough to kill me and I wondered what he broke to make it hurt so much.
“You turned him against me.”
“He was always against you, Uncle Cedric. He has always known you as an asshole, guess what he thinks you are now that he found out you killed his mother.”
“I’m going to kill you,” he snarled as he made heavy steps toward me. “I’m going to kill you before I go to visit your bitch of a mother in South Africa.” He explained about the woman I now didn’t give two shits about.
That was it. Angel of death was finally coming for me like she promised she would. One of the guys threw a gun at Cedric and I tilted my head to study it after which I looked on and waited for the gunshot to hit me.
“Don’t shoot me in the arm, I’m very strong and I might survive again.” He cocked the gun and just as he was about to pull the trigger, the door flung open.
I breathed a smile as Jayden dashed in like the angel he was and immediately winced from the pain.
Great, my whole body was hurting.
“GET AWAY FROM HER,” he screamed as his eyes searched and locked with mine. “Flower.” He ran to me, pushed his dad and immediately sat on the floor, placing my head on his lap. I smiled at him and he touched my face, retracting his hand whenever I winced.
The guards all made attempts to attack Jayden, but Cedric lifted his hand to stop them and they recoiled.
“See what your dad did to me again.” I pouted and he rested his forehead on mine, his face already dampening with tears.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” He glared at his dad with so much hatred in his eyes. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Get away from her son, I’m warning you.” Cedric snapped. Jayden stood up and moved closer to his dad, poking him in his chest.
“Youget away from her, I’m warning you.” I grinned. Someone was getting confident.
