Story: Scarred Assassin
“C’mon that was years ago, I doubt anyone still has that video.” Raphael ignorantly continued.
“I said shut up.” Jayden hung up and I flared my nose.
How dare he hang up the phone when I was listening to things about me?
“Jordan, I’m… I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to be. I expect nothing less from the Antonios. Go to your house and under no circumstance should you switch off those interlinks, under no circumstance.” I warned and without replying, he lit up the engine and drove faster.
This was going to be fun.
JAYDEN
That stupid man, he just kept blabbering like the stupid asshole he was. Jordan must be mad now. She must be furious to know they still had her video.
But did theyallstill have the videos? It would be weird and creepy if they did, it’d been ten years already.
My mind trailed back to when Jordan poured gin on her wound. I had opened my mouth in shock as I still only saw the little Jordan who ran from spiders, the young Jordan who would flinch after hearing a balloon pop.
She was so fragile.
I had placed my hands on my head when I realized that we were the one who broke her and I cried when I realized just how badly my family ruined her.
If we didn’t do that to her, she would still be in the university, probably studying Law. She had always had a big thing for justice.
It was all our fault, and if Jordan thought we deserved to die for it, then we should die for it.
I raced faster toward my dad’s house and heard a quiet snort from Jordan with a stern ‘don’t die.’
I won’t baby, I won’t.
I got to my dad’s house and entered to see my brothers already seated with the private investigator.
At least with the interlink in her ear, Jordan would know if this weird man would be following her.
The interlink was safely hidden behind my hair, but I still worry they'd see it. I'd hate to be the reason Jordan got caught, I didn’t want to put her life in danger ever again.
“Jayden is here,” Raphael announced and I ignored him. Our relationship was strained and there was no need of trying to fix it. We were the closest, but he broke my trust. There was no way I was ever trusting him again.
We were never going to be the way we used to be.
“Hello Mr. Jayden,” the private investigator greeted. “I’m sorry for the death of your brother.” I nodded in response. I was sad when I heard of Rick's death, but only because he was my brother and it was normal, I guessed. I already knew what he did, so his death was bound to happen.
“Mr Tee said something and I wanted him to repeat it in front of you all,” my dad announced and we all looked at Mr Tee.
He didn’t find out it was Jordan, did he?
“After a few investigations, I have found out that the majority think of Alex as a hero.”
Through the interlink, Jordan said‘I guess I have fans,’and I snorted, causing everyone to look at me.
Fuck, I must save myself.
“He’s an assassin. Who thinks of an assassin as a hero?” I pathetically saved my ass and Jordan gave a soft chuckle. I would have loved to see that, I hadn’t seen her laugh since I met her again.
“Even though he is an assassin, his motives are always clear. Investigations and records show that he only kills people involved in sexual assaults.” Mr Tee eyeballs us in turn.
My brothers looked at each other and I tensed.
