Story: Scarred Assassin
The court did set him free. But in Alex’s court, there was no mercy for sexual assailants so I had hunted him down last month, killed him after cutting off his dick –which I respectfully left beside him, I mean what was I supposed to do with it?
I sent evidence online and the news that aired it, with the headline titled “ALEX IS BACK.”
I swore those people had a crush on me.
The current case with me was a twenty-four-year-old man who locked his ex-girlfriend in his house, raped and tortured her for days because she was getting married to someone else, then killed her.
The first time he raped her, she had reported, but the cops said and I quoted directly from their mouths, “boyfriends don’t rape their girlfriends, they have sex.” If she didn’t give consent, it was rape, but they didn’t care about that.
He was well aware that I was on his trail and Gideon was helping me track him.
My phone rang and I looked at the caller to see asshole calling. I picked it up with a smile.
“Hey.”
“Suspect in a wine bar. Was coming from the late night brothel at King street and is going to 12, Jason street, his house. You might want to hurry if you plan to kill him in the bar, or take your time if you want it to be at his house.”
“Thank you, Gideon, I’ll get back to you.” I hung up and stood up, my eyes still on Jayden. “I have to go, Jay. Alex’s got to work.” I pressed a kiss on his lips and caressed his cheek with my thumb. “Incase you didn’t feel that, I just kissed you. I’ll be back later, I love you.” I told him and left the hospital room.

The guy took a sharp left turn again, I cussed and followed him. I thought he had a bodyguard or a security agent who called him because how did he know I was trailing him?
We were rounding the city because he didn’t want to park his car and he didn’t want to show me his house. Fool, Gideon already showed me his house, I just needed him to stop driving and die peacefully.
They never wanted to die yet they never stopped causing others pain. The guy killed his ex-girlfriend, yet he was so scared of death? No matter how scared they were though, the funny truth always remained –they could never survive me, even if they hid in a hole in the fucking ground.
My phone rang and I picked it up, as I took another left turn because little mister ‘drive around the city so she’ll leave when she gets tired’ took a left turn. I thought it was Gideon and it wasn’t until I heard the voice that I realized that it was the doctor from the hospital. My heart skipped in fear. Did something happen?
“Ms Alexis, I’m calling from the hospital.”
“Did… did something happen?” I suddenly felt bile in my mouth and I bit down on my lips to stop myself from whimpering.
Only two things could make them call me from the hospital; Jayden woke up or Jayden… No, he would never. He promised me that he was going tofind me, be with me, kill with me and finally run away with me. He wouldn’t break his promise.
“I called to tell you that Mr Jayden just woke up and he is demanding for you before letting us touch him.” I searched for a safe place to park my car as I breathed a laugh into the phone.
“Really?” I asked in a barely audible voice. He couldn’t be playing with me, right? I just left the hospital.
“Yes Ms Alexis. The truth is, he had been awake for a week now, but he was still incredibly weak. During that week, he could hear, feel and even perceive things, but his brain still processed everything as a dream. I just didn’t want to tell you, because I didn’t want to give you a false hope, but now he can fully distinguish the real from the imagined.”
There was a time last week that I felt his hand move in mine and when I tried to make it happen again so I could call the doctor, it didn’t and I just laughed at myself for being so delusional.
I wasn’t delusional, Jayden really did try to hold my hand when I said ‘bye’, he had been awake all those while.
In case you didn’t feel that, I just kissed you.He had felt it, he had felt my kiss earlier. A tear fell from my eye and I realized I was crying. It was like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders.
“Thank you doctor, I’m on my way.” I said as I lit my engine, ready to drive again.
“Okay Ms Alexis, see you soon.” I dropped the phone and took a U-turn to Jayden’s hospital.
The man I was trailing? Oh please, he could wait or run around all he wanted, right now I had to see my man. I would catch him anytime I wanted because he was on my list and people on my list? They never survive.
Ah, except Jayden.
