Alpha Denzel was glad she had agreed and was not so anxious to join her peers because it was her birthday.

This could take a lot of time, but it was very important to him because of the burns. Raven was trying but had still not provided the solution.

In less than a month, she would turn eighteen, which meant she would be leaving the pack, which she was unaware of.

Alpha Denzel would be happy if Alice could use her powers without any negative effects, but he cautioned her seriously.

"Just make sure you don’t burn down the woods." Another way of using one’s powers brilliantly was the ability to manipulate it and not the other way around. Alice giggled and did as told.

Instead of channeling her powers to the woods, she directed them at the lake, and it was beautiful to see the fire floating on the lake.

Alpha Denzel wished that Alice’s training with Valerie had been done at a place like this. They would not have burned down the woods, but now, they were all grown and beautiful looking again.

"Good, are you in any kind of pain?" He asked worriedly, though not seeing any sign of it.

He was not expecting a response since Alice usually went into a trance during moments like this but surprisingly got one.

"No, Alpha. In fact, I feel no discomfort at all."

Alpha Denzel was finding it hard to believe her until she rolled a ball of fire in her hand and threw it in the direction of a rock. When it hit the rock, the fire quenched.

Then she rolled another and another, forming three different balls of fire, and threw them in different directions.

Since Alpha Denzel did not stop her, she continued to send more balls but was also capable of quenching them before they caused any form of havoc.

Alpha Denzel was amazed by just watching her doing her thing. After a while, she was juggling the balls of fire like a magic display.

Alpha Denzel had seen things like that in Vegas during magic shows and wondered if those things those humans did were just tricks or if they had some strange powers attached to them like that of Alice.

Suddenly, all the fire quenched at once, and nothing was burned. Not even a smoke was seen. "Did I do well?" Alice asked, a proud smile on her face, and Alpha Denzel clapped for her.

"I must say that you did perfectly, but I’m wondering if your powers have the same effect as before."

Confusion twisted Alice’s face slightly. "I don’t understand, Alpha. Are you saying that because I did not get burned or burn down anything, my powers aren’t strong enough?"

Alpha Denzel did not refuse nor accept, determined to know the strength of her powers. "It won’t hurt if we test it, right?"

"On who?" Alice asked. Nothing around them could feel except the two of them, and since she was the one with the powers, the only option was her Alpha, which she did not dare to suggest.

’On him,’ her wolf answered on his behalf. Alice smiled nervously but left with no choice, she informed Alpha Denzel. "My wolf is saying to test my powers on you."

Alpha Denzel frowned imperceptibly, and Alice took a step back, retracting her words at the same time.

"Maybe not. She said I only got burned because she wasn’t there, but now, she is capable of protecting me from being burned.

The explanation made sense that Alice would no longer get burned because of her wolf, but he was still determined to know if her powers carried the same level of strength as before.

"Okay, then, try your powers on me. Like, burn down my shoes."

Alice took a deep breath, being greatly nervous to carry out the command. Perhaps she should warn him. "Your feet will get burned."

"I’m a fast healer," he assured her. Alice bit her lower lip thoughtfully, and Alpha Denzel noticed that even her eye color had changed.

"But your shoes would not return."

"Just do it," Alpha Denzel instructed sternly, and mind-linked Gandolf to bring him a shoe, but before the mind-link was completed, he began to feel pain like fire on his feet.

The trainers he wore began to burn, and so did his feet. He wanted to tell Alice to stop but was still interested in knowing for how long he could endure the pain until a male voice yelled.

"Alpha, your feet are all gone."

Gandolf jogged from the training room when he received the mind-link but was surprised to see the feet of his Alpha burning.

Alice stopped using her powers, and fear shone in her eyes when she saw what she had done. Alpha Denzel could not stand on his feet anymore and was supported by Gandolf.

"I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking."

Alpha Denzel shook her head, not understanding why she accepted blame when it was not her fault.

"No. It’s not your fault," he assured her, but a shudder ran through her, visible on her face when she saw new feet begin to form in place of the burned ones.

Alpha Denzel was equally marveled, but then, if he has continuously been mating with a powerful woman like Valerie, it was obvious that some of her powers were swimming inside his blood and causing this miraculous healing.

He took the trainers from Gandolf and put them on. There was no pain like when he was getting burned.

Now, he was certain that Alice’s powers were strong and without any form of side effects.

"Let’s go now, or we’ll be late," he beckoned Gandolf and Alice. Alice did not know what they were going to be late for but hastened in Alpha Denzel and Gandolf’s direction.

Thinking they were going to the pack house, she was amazed that Alpha Denzel was rather walking to the training room, and when Alice reached there, everyone was there except one person.
