The shock was so intense that no one could bring themselves to clap. "Isn’t Alpha Lawn dead?" One of the Alphas asked in disbelief, and the others nodded in agreement, too stunned to speak up.
Even the pack members of the Evergreen pack had been unaware of this development.
The Alpha King smiled and revealed, "I was just as surprised when I encountered Alpha Lawn at the Evergreen pack. Only he can provide the details of his survival, but our focus today is on his second daughter, Valerie."
Most people quickly realized that Alpha Denzel had his reasons for keeping this information hidden until now.
The mystery surrounding Alpha Lawn’s disappearance had not been resolved, indicating that his death was likely a planned murder.
Tristan began to feel foolish. It dawned on him that Alpha Denzel had lured them here for a specific purpose. No wonder he had even provided them with money. It was a trap.
He stood up abruptly. "I need to use the restroom." His plan was to escape and not return to the Yellowstone pack either.
The only solution, since he lacked money and Scarlet’s affection, was to go rogue.
But Godic intervened, pressing his head down and forcing him back into his seat. "No one is allowed to leave, and no one else can enter until the event is over. It’s for security reasons."
Orion also wanted to leave. He had come for Valerie, but Alpha Idris and Troy kept a close eye on him.
If he had known, he wouldn’t have returned so soon after what had happened the previous night.
Alpha Lawn entered gracefully, dressed in a white suit purchased by Denzel.
He appeared younger and healthier, thanks to his stay at the pack house and the nutritious meals.
Everyone was taken aback as he bowed slightly and took his seat near Luna Fernanda.
Scarlet couldn’t bear to look at her father, her stomach churning with fear. She tried to get up, but a warrior blocked her path.
"Sorry, no one is allowed to leave, and only three more people are expected to enter."
Scarlet realized she had fallen into a trap.
"I am also pleased to announce that Alpha Lawn’s first daughter, Ashley, is here with us, but she will be making her entrance with her sister, the Luna. So, let’s first welcome the Alpha who is like a son to me, Alpha Denzel."
Applause filled the room as the guests realized why there was no program listed for the event.
Alpha Denzel was clearly hiding something. He walked in with Alessia, and the atmosphere grew tense as he took his place on the stage, awaiting his Luna.
Alessia sat at the table with Luna Fernanda, and the pack members were delighted to see her, unaware that she wouldn’t be staying for long.
"With a standing ovation, let’s welcome Luna Va..."
"Wait!" Alpha Denzel’s voice interrupted, causing the Alpha King to pause. He was proud to make this announcement, as Valerie had only grown stronger despite their challenges.
"My Luna lost her wolf before and was gifted an Alpha wolf. In my absence, she will be known as Alpha Valerie Denzel, but in my presence, she has agreed to remain Luna Valerie Denzel."
Alpha Denzel didn’t have a surname, as his reign marked the beginning of a new generation. Having an heir was crucial during his time.
"You heard the Alpha, so let’s welcome the Luna with an Alpha wolf, Luna Valerie."
The Evergreen pack members cheered and applauded, while the visiting Alphas and Lunas were too stunned to react.
Some even had their jaws drop at the surprising news. The Evergreen pack had become the strongest and would now be ruled by a powerful couple.
Orion seethed with anger as he sat next to the envious Luna Ahuma. "How can Luna Valerie be an Alpha now?"
She couldn’t believe it, but Alpha Denzel wouldn’t lie. His gaze remained fixed on Orion as Ashley made her entrance.
"Wow," the guests marveled, and Alpha Denzel chuckled, while Alpha Idris looked at Ashley as if she were the most beautiful woman in the world, his mate.
"That isn’t my Luna," Alpha Denzel declared, causing a stir in the luxurious event tent. Despite the resemblance, he could always recognize his Luna.
"That is Ashley, the first daughter of Alpha Lawn," the Alpha King announced as Ashley stood beside her father.
Scarlet could only hope for the ground to swallow her whole or a massive tsunami to disrupt the event and spare her the embarrassment.
Her father was alive, which meant her secrets would be exposed. But the most painful part was the family reunion unfolding before her, making her feel like an outsider.
As the attention focused on Valerie’s entrance, Scarlet contemplated making a quick escape. If she could run fast enough, no one would catch her.
After slipping off her four-inch stilettos, she attempted to rise but was pushed back down by Godic, who had been assigned to watch over her and Tristan.
"You’re blocking the guests’ view."
Scarlet put on a flirtatious smile, noticing a mark on Godic’s neck but unaware that he was Alpha Denzel’s brother-in-law.
"I just need to use the ladies’ room."
Godic smiled, though his eyes didn’t reflect the gesture. "It’s too late. Luna Valerie is about to make her entry, and all distractions must be minimized." He firmly pushed her back into her seat as the Alpha King made another announcement.
"I would also like to inform you that there would be another coronation because Ashley is mated to Alpha Denzel’s cousin, Alpha Idris."
Everyone, especially Alpha Idris and Luna Fernanda, were so excited. Four warriors walked in and stood at the aisle with their heads bowed, as Valerie appeared at the entrance.
Alpha Denzel smiled so broadly in front of the crowd for the first time, it was so magical. "She is the one we have been waiting for."
Valerie began to walk the aisles with the white tail of her gown sweeping the red carpet. "She looks like the moon goddess. Is there even a better word to describe her beauty?"
The murmurs took effect once more.
Scarlet had tears in her eyes with her head lowered through it all, and so were those three despicable Lunas who tried to bully Valerie before. No coronation in the history of the werewolf community has ever compared to that of Valerie.
Orion’s gaze was like that of a bottomless pit, as he thought about how to interrupt the coronation, especially when Alpha Denzel’s equally dark gaze, pinned on him.
