Ashley rubbed her temple. "I have a headache. Can I have some water?" Idris quickly poured her a glass of water and fed it to her before saying,

"Valerie said you would sleep it off, but how are you feeling now?"

Ashley forced a smile, remembering everything clearly. She felt a slight discomfort, which could be attributed to the new waves of power swimming through her veins.

"I feel so funny, but after drinking the water, I kind of feel better."

Alpha Idris was glad but still had a major concern, asking seriously. "Are you sure you don’t remember me?" It was difficult to accept that she couldn’t, but Ashley smiled at him.

"Did you believe that?"

A chuckle escaped him as he nudged her. "You silly girl. You scared the hell out of me."

Ashley laughed, finding her frustration amusing. "I loved the look on your face when I said it."

"So can you try using your power?" Idris asked curiously, determined to know how it works.

Ashley stared at the drinking glass, and it was instantly filled with water. Alpha Idris picked it up, but pouring it out, the water suspended in the air.

He wondered what could be done with suspended water. This did not seem interesting to him, so he asked directly.

"Is that all? You can’t use that to help anyone."

Ashley smiled, and the next moment, Idris was suffocating. It was as if the water was rushing down his lungs, and the very air he was breathing was being denied to him.

Unexpectedly, the air began to fill his lungs once again when he thought all was lost, and Ashley would not know that she was hurting him.

Panting, he asked her. "What the hell is that?"

Ashley chuckled. "Did you not ask about the effectiveness of my powers?" It felt good to use this kind of power on her stronger opponent, but then, what if she received the powers in exchange for her wolf.

She quickly communicated with her wolf, Lilian. ’Are you there?’

’I won’t die yet,’ came the quick response, her excitement increased. Her wolf was not affected, and she got special powers as a gift from her junior sister.

She had to call Valerie to thank her, but it was already late. Excitement flung Idris upon confirming this.

"This is amazing, and it would be good if you could do it to a lot of people at once." He imagined Ashley using these powers in a time of war against many enemies.

Alpha Idris was lost for words. Being on Denzel’s team was the best thing that happened in his life.

"I will practice that later, but now, I want to shower," Ashley said nervously.

Back at the Evergreen pack, Idris would be out of the room before she woke up, so it was easy for her to go shower, but now, she suddenly felt shy when it was just the two of them.

Idris knew she was still avoiding him but could not allow this to go on. Her past must have been terrible, but it was time to let it go and embrace a wonderful future together.

"Ashley, we need to talk."

Ashley guessed it was about the mating thing and was even nervous. After what she faced the last time with those brothers, she had decided never to let any man in, but her mate found her, and that was her destiny.

"Is it about the confession? I honestly wanted to tell you, but..." Alpha Idris cut in before she could complete her sentence.

"Look, don’t think that I will ever judge you based on whatever happened in your past. I have my rotten skeletons too, and what matters is the future ahead of us."

Ashley remembered that the first time they shared a room, he had told her about the kind of life he lived before Denzel put him in order, but that was not Ashley’s worry.

She thought for a while and spoke honestly. "Thank you, but sex is painful."

Alpha Idris shook his head. He was a master of that with tons of experience. "No, it isn’t. It’s because you gave it out unwillingly. It was your first time too," he pointed out. Ashley was still not convinced, asking,

"Can you give me time?"

Alpha Idris was dying to have a taste of her but could also not force her. Still, there were many ways to kill a cat, so he said to her.

"Sure, I will, but let’s shower together."

Ashley’s cheeks crimsoned as this was exactly what she wanted to avoid. "Must we?" She used to hear girls talk about how they seduce their men and all and had even suggested it to Valerie but now that it was her turn, her vigor disappeared.

Seeing how reluctant she was, Idris wanted to give up, but his wolf was unwilling. They wanted to bear the mark of their mate and claim her as theirs too.

"We are mates, remember?"

Knowing the rules of the mating bond, Ashley could not refuse. "Okay."

A sigh of relief escaped Alpha Idris, and he ambled to her. Slowly, he began to undress her. "I will help you take off your clothes.

Ashley shivered at the feel of his hand on her skin. It made her hotter than she ever felt and kept wondering what exactly was happening.

When her bra loosened around her breast, she quickly covered it with both hands, feeling embarrassed, but Idris only shook his head. It was just a matter of time before she got comfortable with him.

Her eyes closed tightly, her shivers increasing, when he pulled down her panty. She was extremely nervous, and the next thing she knew, she was lifted in his strong arms.

"Open your eyes, Ash, am I not handsome enough for you?" Idris asked teasingly, her cheeks burned, climbing to her ears. Reluctantly opening her eyes, she felt enchanted when they bore into his darkened gaze.

"Trust me, Ashley, you would be asking for this every day by the time I’m done with you," he said before entering the shower room.

Adjusting the temperature to a comfortable one, he took the bathing shampoo and wet his hands, forming a lather, which he gently rubbed on her skin. When he reached her breast, he took his time to massage both breasts together, expecting her to stop him, but rather, an audible moan escaped her.
