Alpha Denzel quickly texted back, ’Stop wherever you are. I will find you.’ He did not want Ashley to get too close to raise suspicions.

Valerie caught sight of the text but quickly looked away, pretending not to have seen anything.

There were already a lot of fun activities ongoing, and she did not want to ruin the mood. Besides, the name displayed was that of the investigator.

"Alpha, Luna, welcome." The pack members chanted in sing-song voices. Denzel and Valerie’s hearts warmed greatly.

This was the joy of belonging and being loved by one’s pack. Alice ran out of the pack house and hugged Valerie.

"Welcome back, Luna, we missed you so much."

Valerie was happy to see her in good health, hugging her back as she asked seriously, "Have you been training and eating well?"

Excitement laced Alice’s voice as she responded, "Yes, Luna."

"Alice, we shall talk later," Denzel said. Alice smiled and responded, "Yes, Alpha. We are so happy to have you back. The lakeside rogues would not dare to show their ugly faces anymore."

Denzel chuckled and was glad to see her healthy and happy. Alice deserved a special reward, but it was unfortunate that he could not honor her in front of the pack members, as that would open her up to threats.

Looking at the time, he could not keep Ashley waiting for too long and thought of a way to go meet her.

By tomorrow, she would be arriving with her father, so everything had to be in perspective, including their temporary accommodation since the omegas community was still under construction.

Alpha Denzel could not stay for long and said to Valerie, "I will check around the pack. You can prepare us something warm to eat."

He hoped that by keeping her busy, she would not insist on following him where he was going, and to his satisfaction, she didn’t.

"Of course," Valerie agreed.

Denzel did not take the car, as that would make it hard to hide. He trotted out of the pack gates to a distance away until he saw the familiar figure.

Though she was dressed differently, he could tell from her scent that she was the one.

"Take this. What is going on?" Denzel asked Ashley as he stuffed the money in the envelope into her palm.

Ashley pushed it back, but when Denzel plans to give something, he doesn’t take it back, so Ashley explained it to him.

"We don’t need money again now. Your beta brought us enough, and my father is fine. He can walk and talk but is not as strong as before. Raven said with enough exercise, healthy food, and fresh air, his strength would return."

Denzel was relieved and happy that Raven had done her part just as he did his. "That is good news. I will send a car to pick you up tomorrow."

Ashley’s expression suddenly turned gloomy. Perhaps Alpha Denzel must have forgotten.

"That is the problem. Fusion has turned the rogues against us. Even the rogue Alpha has lost control of him. I had to dress as Raven to sneak out to meet you."

Denzel had forgotten about this bit, and the reminder upset him.

It would be better to not leave any suspicions, and that meant not going out of the pack until Alpha Lawn’s arrival, but only he could resolve this matter.

"This is annoying. I just don’t want to ruin the surprise when we are so close. This is the first time your sister did not insist on following me when I told her I was checking a few things around the pack."

Ashley understood his predicament, feeling sorry for involving him. "I will find a way to get him to the pack."

Alpha Denzel did not agree with her. "No, you can’t. Rogues aren’t like the warriors you have in your pack."

Ashley agreed, annoyed at how Fusion suddenly turned out. "I know."

After some thought, Denzel settled on a plan and said to her, "Okay. I will come and get the four of you tomorrow. Just get ready. I will leave here after training in the morning and would arrive by late noon, so we could make it back around this time."

Ashley smiled with gratitude. Everyone knew Denzel as a man who carried death with him, but they had to understand that he was also a lifesaver.

"Thank you for all you are doing for our family. We shall greatly repay you as soon as everything is settled."

This was not the first time Denzel heard this, and his response remained the same.

"You don’t have to pay me. Valerie is my mate, so her happiness is my responsibility. I love her more than anyone could understand."

Ashley was happy that after all the pain, Valerie found happiness above any she-wolf. "We are still grateful, and I already heard the news about the coronation. It’s in five days."

Denzel smiled as he imagined the look on the faces of all those who ridiculed Valerie.

She was now marked, mated, and also had an Alpha wolf. Not the Luna wolf everyone was crazy about.

Right now, they would just die if they knew how strong Valerie had become.

"Yes, I hope that your father can be stronger by then. You know what I’m talking about."

Ashley nodded her head, knowing he was talking about Scarlet and Tristan. The time for atonement had come.

"I am sending a special invitation to Tristan and Scarlet to ensure that they attend."

A smile decorated Ashley’s lip. "Thanks for informing me first. Good night."

By the time Alpha Denzel returned to the pack house, Alice was the one to welcome him. "Alpha, Luna said I should serve your food. She said she’s tired and already went to bed."

Denzel frowned. Valerie would always attend to him no matter how tired she was. Something must be wrong with her. When he reached the bedroom, his heart sank at the state he found her.
