Alpha Conrad was tempted to take the offer and release the names, but would Alpha Denzel keep his word? He was a man of his word, but not when his loved ones were wrongfully and harshly taken away from him.
Not when his heart bled a lot for losing so much. Alpha Conrad had not lost his senses. After all, he was healing again, and he also had an Alpha wolf, making his healing faster than the normal warriors.
"You are not a kind man, Denzel. We’ve known each other since we were kids, and I know what you are capable of doing. In short, I won’t tell you."
Alpha Denzel was not expecting him to say it either. His head ached terribly as he recalled the moon goddess saying that his enemies would reveal themselves to him.
"Bring the traitors forward." Alpha Denzel had a faint smile on his face as he spoke. Alpha Conrad felt ashamed for not being able to protect his loyal spies as promised. He was not able to stand up for the Alphas who stood by him either.
"How many of them have their mates in his pack?" He asked Alessia, who rose up and gave the phone to Valerie to continue videoing from where she stopped.
Six people were moved to the side as Alpha Denzel questioned the remaining people standing with their heads bowed. "What are your reasons for betraying your pack?"
"It’s because they love me," Alpha Conrad said mockingly, annoying Alpha Denzel as he ordered Burke, "Slaughter each of them. They will be cremated together with him, and their ashes thrown in the gutters as Troy suggested," Alpha Denzel said coldly.
The members of the Evergreen pack could not watch as those they called family were being slaughtered from the betrayal. It also planted the fear that no matter the situation, they stand for their pack and trust their Alpha.
No one in their right mind would dare to betray their pack for whatever reason after witnessing this. It was the reason why Alpha Denzel made everything so public.
As Alpha Conrad watched each of his loyal spies, including the four warriors, being slaughtered, he shut his eyes tightly as pain shot through his heart.
The heartless monster called Denzel did not even care that they were his pack members, so what would he not do to those who were not even his pack members?
Alpha Conrad had begun healing again, so Alpha Denzel started another torture, piercing one of his eyes with the spear. A shrill tore from his throat, echoing through the training room as Alpha Denzel snarled.
"Keep your eyes open or they will both be gone, and oh, there are still about two hundred and twenty warriors waiting outside. Anyway, for the sake of Troy, they will be bound by an oath and go back to serve him."
This was the last straw for the camel’s back as Alpha Conrad went mad. He would rather they die than go back to serve the traitor of his beta, Troy. "No. Kill them too."
Alpha Denzel was glad to get the reaction he was looking for. "You have no right to argue. They live free and serve Troy, you die. You know what, today is the happiest day of my life because I get to show off my long-lost sister and my second chance mate."
Alpha Conrad was embittered but helpless. His tears could not be seen as they mixed with the blood. Only his soft moans were heard from the pains administered, as he hoped his wolf would heal him soon.
Nevertheless, the sight of Denzel, Valerie, and Alessia ached him even more. Alpha Denzel had a rare smile on his face. It was peaceful and calming, but the next moment, more stabs followed with blood sputtering wherever it cared to fall.
By the time he was done, the corpse hanging in the air was unrecognizable. A disgusted look registered on Alpha Denzel’s bloody face before he ordered, "Open the doors and cremate them."
Finally, the metallic scent of blood was allowed to escape with the fresh breeze coming through the doors and windows.
The warriors outside, upon seeing this, felt weak in their knees. Alpha Denzel turned towards where Valerie and Alessia sat. "Wait for me."
A few minutes later, he returned from the male changing room, cleaned with a change of clothes. The omegas were already cleaning, and bodies were being cremated as Alessia continued to video everything.
At the same time, Alpha Denzel addressed the remaining warriors. "I will give you the opportunity to make a choice. Conrad is dead, and you can follow suit. Or, you can swear an oath and return to your packs with the promise that you will never be an instrument of betrayal to any pack."
"If you go against this vow in the future, then any Alpha could take your life."
From what they saw before, nobody was stupid as they preferred being loyal. Their vows were recorded and sent around the packs, in addition to all the murders that went on.
"Aless, Val, let’s go," Alpha Denzel called out, adding, "there are other things to take care of."
Burke came to him and said, "Alpha, should I bring the money to return to the safe?" Alpha Denzel nodded, and when the money was brought, Alessia returned it to the safe.
As soon as they reached the pack house, Alpha Denzel was going to shower once more when Valerie rushed to the shower room and locked the door. "How many times will you shower?" she asked behind the door.
At least she knew that Alpha Denzel never hated her so it gave her boldness. Alpha Denzel liked that they could bicker like a normal couple but were they?
"As much as I can. The scent of blood is irritating. I need more water."
Valerie understood that Alpha Denzel was a clean freak, but gosh, what happened there was gory. Everybody needed a hot shower. "Then you have to wait your turn or use another room."
When Valerie stepped out, she was wearing Alpha Denzel’s towel robe, which was bigger than her size. He found it amusing but did not comment as he informed her,
"Congratulations. You can go shop and change the room the way you want. Also, do us a favor and cook something, will you?"
Valerie was stunned. Then it clicked. She was now a free woman. Before she could relish in the moment, Alpha Denzel added, "Be careful. There are still enemies in the shadows."
Valerie nodded her head, but then she thought about Ryker. Alpha Denzel could not have forgotten, right? She dialed his number and at the same time, heard a phone ringing in the room. It was Alpha Denzel’s phone.
Ending the call, the ringing stopped, and she dialed it again. When Alpha Denzel’s phone began to ring again, curiosity drove her to take a look. Was it just a coincidence? Before her hand reached it, a wet hand grabbed it. "DON’T."
