’He called, asking for money from the pack proceeds. He also mentioned being here in a week to collect it.’
The second one read, ’Val, I’m sorry I can’t see you for a while.
There’s so much going on and so much to do because of the construction of the omegas’ community.
Please listen to my brother. He only has good intentions for you, but as for me, you won’t be safe around me.
I trust that my brother will take care of everything, and we can see each other again as frequently as we used to. It’s me, Aless."
Alpha Denzel smiled faintly, discovering that Alessia even disclosed their relationship to Valerie. After a sigh, he took the note to Valerie, but she was rather upset. "Did you force her to write it?"
Alpha Denzel frowned, his temper rising. "You think so ill of me. Read this." He gave her the first letter, and as she began to read silently, her eyes were moist.
She couldn’t believe that a pack member had done that. "What are you going to do?" She asked seriously, hungry for vengeance on Alessia’s behalf.
Alpha Denzel took back the note and kept it safely away. "Exactly what I’m doing. I’m just waiting for a sign. There is a war coming, and I’m ready for it."
Valerie was worried about lives lost during war and reminded him, "It would endanger lives."
Alpha Denzel shook his head. Unless the whole pack was attacked, there was no need to involve the subjects. "Don’t worry. I won’t endanger my subjects. I prefer duos."
Valerie was relieved. Duos were great for the likes of Alpha Denzel, as they never accepted defeat. She was also happy that he treated her like a pack member, though their relationship was undefined.
"Thank you for not hiding things from me."
That night, she lined the center of the bed with enough pillows to prevent either person from crossing over. Alpha Denzel found it funny but did not complain. There was just too much on his mind to think about trivial things like her not wanting to share a bed with him.
Four days later, Alpha Denzel received the signal he was looking for. "Alpha, we retrieved a total of 900 million," Godic said as soon as the phone was answered. Alpha Denzel had gotten 100 million more than what was stolen.
Seems Troy was trying to pay for the stolen money with interest, so he doesn’t face future problems when he becomes the Alpha. Smart move.
"Take it with you to Vegas. Update me on everything going on there," Alpha Denzel instructed, not wanting the money to be brought to the pack to send any clues to Alpha Conrad.
It was a good thing he didn’t know that all the stolen money had been returned to the rightful owner.
"What about Troy?" Godic asked, Alpha Denzel thought for a while and answered,
"He should be in his pack. It’s time to strike."
Thinking about Valerie’s words a few days ago, Alpha Denzel refrained from attacking the whole pack for innocent lives to be lost. He had to find another way to eliminate Alpha Conrad for Troy to take over the pack.
Later, they can arrange for the coronation, and Alpha Denzel would be there to support him as promised. He dropped a note in Alessia’s room. ’Tell Conrad that Valerie is held hostage in my room. That you heard noises.’
When Alessia read the note, she finally smiled for the first time since her return to the pack. Finally, it was over.
She quickly dialed Alpha Conrad’s number, exaggerating the words she read. "I’ve been hearing noises for a few days now. I think Alpha Denzel is holding Luna Valerie hostage in his room. I believe he sexually abuses her."
Alpha Conrad was boiling with rage, feeling that Alpha Denzel had fallen in love with Luna Valerie after rejecting her, now forcing her to do his bidding. "I underestimated him. I thought he loathed her and was disgusted with her."
"That’s what everybody thought, but I don’t think he would admit it," Alessia added fuel to the fire, making Alpha Conrad feel more stupid.
At the end of the line, Alpha Conrad was quiet for a while before saying, "Don’t worry. I have to change my schedule. Get the money ready. I will be there tonight with some warriors. They will take the money away whilst I wait to rescue Luna Valerie."
Alessia’s smile widened. Alpha Conrad fell into Alpha Denzel’s trap. "Well noted. I will be expecting you, and remember to keep your promise to make me the Alpha," she added, giving him a reminder that she was on his side.
"I keep my promises," Alpha Conrad said seriously. Alessia used the opportunity to ask,
"What about the other Alphas involved? You promised to give me their names."
"Hehehe, relax. Get the Alpha position first. And then, you can acquaint yourself with my other allies," Alpha Conrad said. Alessia was disappointed not to get the last information as the smile froze on her face, "okay."
Alessia’s eyes dulled, and this time, for Alpha Denzel to get the message early, she passed it under his bedroom door.
Valerie was the one who picked it as Alpha Denzel was in the shower.
’I passed the message. He said he will be here tonight to rescue Valerie from your hands with some other men to get the money.
I’m sorry I couldn’t get the names of the Alphas involved.
He said I would have to become the Alpha of this pack first.’
"What is that? Are you reading my letters?" Alpha Denzel asked behind Valerie, guilt flashed in her eyes before she stuffed the note into his hand.
"I’m sorry. It was under the door, and there was no name to it." She shrugged, meaning no name meant the message belonged to anyone.
Alpha Denzel caught through her trick, refusing to let her win. "But this is my room."
Valerie’s gaze dropped, and at the same time, she saw how low the towel on Alpha Denzel’s waist was and quickly turned around. Alpha Denzel had a thin smile on his face as he read the letter.
"Are you ready for freedom now?" He asked Valerie, who had a confused expression on her face. "What are you talking about?" She asked.
