"What is he doing here?" Rinus hisses. "He is a witness and I think it may smooth things over with Cain if Tariq came with us" I reply.

"I suppose you are right" Rinus replies.

"Where do we need to go?" Tariq asks. "I'm I'm not sure" I reach out to hold both their hands.

"Malachi" I whisper. "Yes" he replies. "Um how do I get to you? " I ask.

The wind starts blowing and then leaves begin to circle us and poof we were in a cave.

"Not a cave again" Rinus huffs. I begin walking and the men follow me.

"How do you know where we are going?" Tariq asks.

"Um I don't my feet just started moving" I reply.

"I don't see why he didn't just teleport us where we need to be" Rinus sighs.

As he says this we fall through a hole. Tariq grabs me and when we land I land on top of him. "Thanks" I blush. "Are you okay?" I ask. "It's just a scratch it will heal in a few minutes" he smiles. "Tariq keep that up and Cain will rip your head off" Rinus says.

"Nora!" Malachi comes and wraps me in a hug.

"Um my name is Nova" I reply. Malachi frowns and looks at me.

"Perhaps death wiped your memories" he states.

"She is the descendant of Nora" Rinus chimes in.

"You did not come alone?" Malachi frowns deepens.

"You didn't ask me to and even if you did I wouldn't have"I reply.

"I'm here, you wanted to talk so talk" I demand.

"You are really not Nora?" he questions.

"No she is my a lot of greats then grandmother" I reply.

"She has children?" he asks. "That's how that works" I reply.

"You look exactly like her" he says. "Nora my love" he whispers in my head.

"Again I am not Nora, I am her very very very great granddaughter" I remind him. "It was worth a try" he shrugs.

"Before you start your long story can you tell me about this?

" Rinus asks and pokes me. Rolling my eyes I start to sing the forbidden song.

"Stop this instant!" Malachi places his hand over my mouth.

As I look at him Malachi has the same black lines on his face.

"why do you both look like that? Tariq asks as he pulls me into him.

Malachi let's out a long frustrated sigh.

"It appears your friend is my descendant" he says.

"Excuse me?" Rinus snaps. "I am nothing like you" Rinus shakes his head.

"Why do you get like that?" I ask softly.

"It first happened to me long ago, after I lost the first woman I ever loved.

Sorcerers have a lot of magic in their veins, long ago before my mother gave birth to me my kind was weaponised".

" My family specifically were forced to use dark magic.

Something went wrong and my whole bloodline was affected".

"I'm sorry Rinus has dark magic within him?

" I ask. Malachi nods and then proceeds.

"When I lost my first love, I tried to save her with dark magic, but her body couldn't handle it.

I tried to take it out of her and succeeded but everything has a price.

" I asked someone who is long gone to help save her but he killed her instead" he rubbed his temple.

"My descendant did not kill your lover," Rinus snaps.

What was his problem? "Excuse me?" Malachi frowns.

"We both know old Cain wouldn't do anything to hurt a deaf friend" Rinus continues.

Malachi stared at him for a long time. "Malachi" I reach out and hold his hand.

"My descendant is right, Cain would never hurt me we were like brothers" he says after awhile.

"So what happened that night, why did you fall out?

" Tariq says. "I came back and she was dead, I became filled with rage.

I could feel the dark magic consume me. Despite Cain explaining himself and me understanding the rage and the dark magic became one and I heard hurtful things come out of my mouth against my will.

"I wanted to go after Cain but after I buried her all thoughts of Cain darkened in my mind and I felt hate for someone who meant the most to me.

That night we all died" he states. "That explains some, but why am I triggered by Nora's song?

" Rinus snaps. "Rinus whats wrong with you why are you so pissy? " I frown.

"Silence human" he growls at me. Nah because why the fuck did he call me that and growl at me.

I move out of Tariq's arms and stand in front of Rinus.

"Say that again to my face I dare you" I hiss.

"Descendant of Nora, I would move away from him" Malachi states.

"Silence human" he repeats and I slap him hard leaving a mark on his face.

I watch as Rinus frowns and shakes his head.

"Well that was unnecessary" he says. "You called me human, you have always only called me sister what gives?

! Also you were being a dick!" I shove him.

"I don't remember that" he replies. "The more the dark magic courses through you the fuzzer memories get, now to answer your question.

"We are triggered because I gave Nora half my heart" he opens his shirt to show the scar.

"I'm sorry you did what?!" I ask. Was that medically possible?

"When my darkness consumed me I stayed to myself shutting the world out, I roamed the world in the dark aimlessly.

I found Nora nearly void of life. In that moment I was vaguely reminded of the girl I had lost all those years ago, so I tried to save her.

I ripped my chest open and then hers and used a spell to bind part of my heart to hers removing the injured part. " he tells us.

"Wait you saw a bleeding woman and decided to give her half your heart without hesitation?

" Was Malachi a good person? I mean I wouldn't be here if he didn't do what he did.

"Yes, I then nursed her back to health, taking care of someone helped return me to a somewhat normal state.

"When she awoke I gave her the option to leave but she wanted to stay.

As time went by we developed feelings for each other she loved me despite my darkness.

"Move on how did she end up with Cain and you start a war and why am I triggered?

" Rinus sighs. "Nora wanted me to help me get revenge on Cain because my memories of him were polluted.

We decided the best way to destroy him was gather information.

No one would suspect a woman let alone a human woman.

Unfortunately while she was there she ended up falling in love with Cain, it was not a surprise he was lovable" he sighs.

"Then why did you send her?" Tariq asks.

"It seemed like a good idea at the time" he rubs his temple.

"Nora came to tell me what happened and begged me to come amend things with Cain of course my rage took over and I took her memory of me away and left her in a field.

That's when I decided I had enough of Cain taking the women I loved and you know the rest".

"You are telling me you sent the woman you loved into the arms of your dearest friend and she was honest with you and you took her memories of you?

Why?!" I couldn't believe my ears. "Nora wanted the impossible" he states.

"Explain" Rinus demands. "She wanted us to all work together as lovers.

I do not like sharing so I took her memories" he shrugs.

"You couldn't have just told her no?" I sigh.

"It was like a knife to the heart" he replies.

"So later you stabbed her in the heart?! " Tariq exclaims.

"I suppose, I did. I wanted Cain to watch someone he loved die like I did" he laughs.

"The look on his face priceless" he laughs.

"Why didn't Nora remember what you sent her to deliver and why did she come to you anyways?

". "Nora was a part of me she couldn't stay away for long.

I would whisper her name and she would come without hesitation.

Of course when she left she had no memories it's as simple as that.

"Why did you call to her?" Tariq asks. "I missed her but every time she was hopeful for the impossible and we had the same fight".

"It sounds like you kept stabbing yourself in the heart.

.. I mean you knew she loved you and wanted you in her life why keep bringing her into yours?

" I shake my head. "She made my head clear" he whispers.

"Descendant you are triggered because you are part of my blood line and Nova has magic in hers courtesy of me saving Nora's life" he says after some time.

"Why would that trigger me I do not understand! " he yells.

"Rinus you need to breath" I grab his face and have him take deep breaths with me. "Oh the dark magic my family was forced to use was stolen or rather tortured for an extremely powerful entity in the old days" he replies.
