"So you finally stopped avoiding me" Emmett says when I sit across from him.

"You know I have duties as a Queen right?

" I snap. "Mmmhmm so busy hanging out with Rinus and Alara" he says.

I had asked Ares to go do some complicated task so I could talk to Emmett alone.

"What's your problem?" I question. "How could you marry someone else?

" he says sadly. "Emmett..."I start but he cuts me off.

"Nova, lets run away together. We can start a life here, we can do all the things we dreamed of.

I know you are having a baby but I will step up. " he grabs my hands.

"No, I'm not doing that. I'm also not the same Nova you once knew.

" I say softly. Emmett could get explosive at times.

"For fucksake Nova" he yells. "Do not raise your voice at me.

" I say firmly. "Nova please" he gives me a look that used to make me cave.

Was he always this manipulative? "Absolutely not, I'm happy.

I know you won't accept that because you have been holding on to a version of me that is no longer there.

So effective immediately I need to go pack your stuff.

"Are you fucking kidding me? Did he put you up to this? " Emmett snaps.

"No it's how I feel. Now if you will excuse me I'm late for my afternoon snack and walk".

I get up and he grabs my wrist "Nova don't make me ask you twice".

"Emmett if you know what's good for you, you will let me go" I say coldly.

"Let her go or you lose that hand" Ares snarls.

I hadn't noticed him come in. Emmett quickly let's me go.

"I had an interesting conversation with my mother about hue-mans female reproduction" Areas tells us.

"Yes so?" Emmett asks. "There is now an asshole outside yelling that his royal wants Nova" Ares snaps.

"Doesn't a Queen receive guests?" Emmett asks.

My heart starts racing, this wasn't good how did Emmett fuck things up like that and why was he even talking about my ovaries.

"What did you say to Ares mom Emmett?" "Just that you got pregnant fast and how long it takes til a baby is born and how easy it is after"he mumbles.

"Who else was in the room?" I question. "Why?

" he eyes me. "Answer the fucking question or I will leave you alone for Ares to deal with" Ares bares his fangs scaring Emmett into submission.

"Okay okay, it was just me and her" he says.

"Who else did you tell?"Ares growls. "No one I swear" he crossed his heart.

"If I find out you are lying I will see to it your death is painful" Ares says.

"Great, see what you caused" Ares holds my hand and walks to the window.

"Who is that?" I peak outside. "A royal pain in the ass .

.... he seems to be lost in thought. "Why is he.

.." before I could finish someone grabs me and darkness surrounds me. Ares is no longer holding my hand.

Why couldn't anything here be simple and what dumb fuck.

.."Apologies Queen Nova, my master is an impatient man".

"And clearly has a death wish" I mumble.

When my eyes adjust I see a servant from the castle great the castle had a spy.

"Here for you to be more comfortable" they hand me a pillow.

"What a nice kidnapper you are" I say sarcastically.

"He will be up to see you when he returns" they smile and scurry away.

Someone had brought me food but I didn't touch it, I didn't trust it.

"Bride of Cain" the voice greets me. Ugh I already didn't like this.

"My you are gorgeous, and those hips...we always did prefer the curvier women" he continues.

Feeling uncomfortable in everything my usual outfit was one of Cain's shirts and shorts underneath.

"You didn't touch your food, how is Cain's child going to be strong if you don't eat.

" When I don't say anything he reaches out and takes a bite of something, I could hear him chewing.

"See not poisoned" he says. "Who are you and what do you want? "

"Zaros King of the fanged" he says stepping closer.

"As in all creatures who have fangs?" I ask.

"No, the blood lusty vampires" he corrects me.

"That name doesn't really tell people what you are King of why don't you call yourself Zaros King of the blood lust or something" I was sure why I was helping him.

"Hmmm I suppose you are right" he comes closer leaning towards me and opening the curtain.

Zaros was a tall man, unlike Cain he was slim, he had emerald green eyes and dark thick curls.

"Do you fancy me?" he teased when he sees me staring at him.

"I'm actually memorizing how you look because with pregnancy brain I will forget your name".

Zaros makes an unamused noise before leaning against a wall.

"I want you to bare children for me" he finally says.

"There are literally women who can do that for you" I state.

"Not as fast and as many as you can" his eyes sparkle.

"Look Zack was it?" Zaros frowns before correcting me "Zaros".

"Zeke sorry but I'm not doing that, not now not ever and whatever you heard about female humans is not true. " I say bored.

"Really?" he eyes me suspicious. He whistles and Emmett walks into the room I try to keep my annoyance at bay.

"Zaros, it is in your best interest to return me immediately, I can make sure you have a fair fight when Cain rips your head off" I smile sweetly.

"Hue-man the bride of Cain says you lie, is that true?

" he turns to face Emmett. Emmett looks at me and I shake my head "what we talked about still stands?

" he questions. "But of course" Zaros smiles.

I knew Emmett was getting played. "I didn't lie" he says.

My body moved before I can stop myself and I punch Emmett right in the nose then kick him in the balls.

He falls to his knees in pain, adding to the pain I grab a fist full of hair then lean down "You put my safety at risk and that of my child and that is unforgivable".

Emmett winces in pain, staring down at him I feel nothing "Forget Ares I will deal with you myself" I say coldly.

Emmett stares at me in shock while Zaros breaks into a smile "You are fierce, I like that".

"Both of you out now!" I snap. To my surprise Zaros grabs Emmett and leaves "As you with my Queen".
