When I get into Rinus's room he is muzzled.

"Remove that" I order. "Why does he have it on?

" I ask Vato. "The men were afraid he would use his voice" Vato says.

"So you muzzled your brother?" I shake my head.

"It was consensual sister" Rinus finally speaks.

"Are you alright?" he points to the blood on me.

"Yea, your friend Indra decided to take her last breath standing in front of me" I say dryly.

"Sounds like her" he says bitterly. "Who was she?

" I question. "Someone I tried to forget" he said.

"Why?" I question. "Indra is a trickster.

We met when we were young, it was the type of unhealthy co-dependancy.

I brought out her brighter side while she brought out and encouraged my darker side. " he sighs.

"Explain" Cain demands. "A lot of unnecessary death and then nights of passion.

When I was away from her I felt free, like I could breath, think clearly.

I had followed a human back to earth and explored.

Earth became my escape from her. Indra hated that I chose to grow and learn new things and be better. " he explains.

"That's tough, I'm sorry you went through that Rinus" I squeeze his hand gently.

"She said you left her for dead" Vato states.

"I would never do that, I loved Indra not how she wanted me to but I loved her.

She left me for dead, her logic was if we couldn't exist together she would exist alone.

" "How did she leave you for dead?" Ares who was no longer a wolf asks.

"Feminine wiles" Rinus says. "Indra said something about the place it began and ended, a place of pain and despair, a place.

" I inquire. "I met Indra in a cave in some far mountain, far away.

Talon had sent me on a mission" he does air quotes.

"I suppose he was trying to get kill me without doing the work because it was dangerous.

I almost didn't make it." he says sadly.

"I tried to keep it together for my little brothers and Eve so I sang to myself.

Indra gravitated toward me as people do, that's when the chaos started.

" he tells us. "Why were you drawn to her?

" I ask. "Indra is like me a half-blood" he states.

I nod, made sense if everyone seemed to not accept him he would feel comfortable with someone who did.

"She told me I had to fix what my ancestors did" I say.

"Indra was troubled as half sorceress and fate.

She could look at someone and know their past dating far and beyond that individual seeing their ancestors as well.

" Rinus replies. "What was the thing that happened with the black veins on your face?

" Ares asks. "Indra brought out the darkness in me, that only happens when I was with her or she is near" Rinus stretches.

"Is that way Emmet said other sirens are afraid of you?" I mumble quietly. Rinus lets out a loud amused laugh but his eyes are blank. "I'm royal on both sides" Rinus finally says. "Oh okay" I nod. I didn't know if he was telling the whole truth so I would have to verify with Eve.

"Rinus I'm going to ask you something and I need you to be honest" I lean forward.

"But first can you say my name?". "Your name?

" Cain asks. "Sister" Rinus says. "My actual name not what you call me smartass" I roll my eyes.

"Nova" he says. "Can you say it again first normally then whisper it? " Rinus squints at me but nods.

I close my eyes and wait when he says it, it sounds strange but familar like the first time he said it.

The second time he says it, I feel a shiver run through me as I remember the night I ran down the alley.

"It was you wasn't it?" I whisper. "Yes" he says quietly. "What's going on?" Vato questions.

"Do you want to tell them?" I ask. Rinus's eyes find mine and he actually looks slightly guilty.

"I summoned Nova here, paidCresilas to bring her to the castle.

I did not know Cain would fall in love but I hoped it would happen.

" "You brought Nova here?" Cain says in disbelief.

"I will not apologize for it" he says. "Nova are you okay?

" Ares asks. "I'm not sure how I feel about this" I rub my temples.

"Wait is this why you wouldn't let me go back to earth?

" I question. "You wanted to leave me?" Cain says hurt.

"Cain not everything is about you" I snap.

"Besides I was going to come back" I sigh.

Cain repeats his statement to himself. "I am going to have a baby, I don't need two so pull it together.

I get that the idea that I may have wanted to visit earth has you in your feelings but I my family is here" I say.

"You are right, if you wanted to leave you would have" Cain says after some time.

"If you wish to go back, I will come with you" he says.

"I'm curious to see where you come from" he continues.

"You just got crowned King, I'm pretty sure your kingdom would have my head if I dragged you away for years.

"Vato would look over things" he offers.

"No" I say firmly. "Fine if you wish to visit, I will wait here for you. " he smiles.

"I'm not having this baby by myself and I am not leaving the baby, I want my children to have a mother." I tear up. "So we aren't going to earth, I just have to know so I can pack" Ares chimes in. I let out a laugh "God you are something".

"To get this straight Rinus you actively sought out Nova, after hearing about her from Emmett?

Then sang her here and paid the most dangerous creature to a anyone especially a human to transport her to the castle?

You then kept a straight face the entire time she has been here and since you met her?

" Vato questions. "Yes, I told him not to harm her" Rinus says.

"He threatened to cut out my tongue" I snap.

"Well were you being loud?" he asks. "I let out a frustrated scream" I admit.

"Well there you go" Rinus laughs. "Not funny" I snap.

"It is a little funny" he says. For some reason his laugh is contagious and I laugh too.

"How are you okay with this?" Vato sounds confused.

"Oh I will find a way for Rinus to make it up to me" I say when I catch my breath.

Smiling to myself I begin to hum the tune Indra did.

Rinus tackles me gently covering my mouth his eyes are black and the black veins appear again.

"Where did you hear?" that he growls. "Rinus get off my wife this instant" Cain yells.

Rinus lets out the most predatory sound I had ever heard, making my skin crawl.

Cain, Vato and Ares moved away from us. I look and Cain and mouth that I'm okay.

"Rinus" I say softly. He turns to stare at me, I wondered how much of his darkside was in control.

"Don't you ever and I mean ever sing that again" he says pulling us up from the ground.

"What is it?" I ask as Cain pulls me behind him "What the fuck was that Rinus? " he snaps.

"It's hard to control but I would never hurt Nova" he sighs.

"Um hello, why can't I sing it, its pretty" I say.

"Nova that clearly triggered Rinus, maybe don't do that again and its made the room go cold" he points out.

"I didn't feel cold" I squint at him. "It's the song of death, few can sing it let alone know the words, keep it out of your mouth" he snaps.

"It's catchy, and an ear-worm" I state. "Nova, I'm not joking" Rinus says.

"Okay okay" I respond. I then do it again to test Ares theory.

"What the fuck did I fuck say!" the exact same thing happens except Cain throws him across the room making his body leave a mark.

"That's so cool" I mumble. Vato scoops me up and walks me out of the room "Sorry Rinus, love you" I yell smiling.
