Story: Nova
"My Queen, the Prince waits for you downstairs.
" he keeps his eyes off me. "Take me to him" I reply.
As we walk to where Cain waits for me, I notice people avoiding eye contact with me.
I wondered what Cain had done when I was getting ready.
When we get outside, I expect to see a horse but instead I see a black dragon with golden eyes.
"Oh my god" I say when I see it. The guard keeps walking, but I stop "I'm not going near that" I tell him. "Attor, this is the future Queen" I hear Cain say. Attor comes close to me and sniffs me, I stay as still as I can. Attor kind of bows and lowers his eyes.
"Nova, place your hand on him" Cain says. "I want to keep my hand" I whine. "I wouldn't dare to injure my Queen" I hear a voice in my head. "You can talk?" I gasp. "No, the King to be is translating my thoughts to you". "Oh" I turn to Cain who has a faraway look on his face.
I go and place a hand on Attor "Its nice to meet you" I smile. "Likewise my Queen, you may climb onto my back" I hear him say. Cain now comes over and helps me on Attor's back before climbing on himself.
Attor stands and I try not to look down. When he lifts up into the air I scream, "You are safe my Queen" I hear Attor say. Cain wraps his arms around me as he holds on to the saddle. I was thankful for this gesture. A little bit later we finally land at our destination.
Before Cain jumps down, he covers my eyes with a ribbon. "Stay here" he orders, I hear his feet wondered off. After some time, he comes back and lifts me off Attor "I will call for you when we are done, stay close" I feel Attor flap his wings and his presence gone.
Cain then scoops me up and carries me "Where are we going?
" I ask. "So impatient little fawn" he responds.
Cain finally sets me down and removes the ribbon.
When my eyes adjust, I gasp. We were seated on top of a mountain overlooking a rushing waterfall and a lush green forest. There was a picnic blanket underneath me and an assortment of food laid out.
"Do you like it?" Cain interrupts my thoughts. "I love it" I whisper. Cain pours a glass of wine and hands it to me. I take it sipping fuck that was some good wine. Cain places a variety of food on my plate and hands it to me before sitting next to me.
"Have you ever had a date like this before?" he asks thoughtfully. "No" I answer honestly. "Have you?" I ask back. "This is my first date" he mumbles. "You never courted anyone?" I asked shocked. "No, no one had caught my attention" he says taking a drink.
"I might regret asking but how many dates have you been on?
". "You mean in total or by the same person?
" I ask back. "You can tell me both" he shrugs.
"You won't get jealous?" I tease. "How can I not when it comes to you" he replies staring at me.
"Like 12 dates in total, with 4 different guys" I say looking back to the waterfall.
"And how many have you bedded?" his question catches me off guard.
"Eight" I whisper, a low growl escapes him.
"How many women have you bedded?" "I have been around for a long time but just 100" he says casually.
"A hundred?! That's a lot" I exclaim. "I am 1000 years old that number is not even average.
" he says. "So I will be your 101" I say thoughtfully. "Yes and I your 9th".
"You don't care that I am so much younger than you?" I ask him. "How old are you?" he looks at me. "How old do I look?" I challenge. "This is not a good game Nova" he mumbles. "Oh, just tell me". Cain looks at me for a while before saying 20".
I let out a laugh "That's close I am 25". "That is young" he says. "It doesn't bother you that I am so much older than you?" "Would you ask someone else to be Queen if it does?" I ask. "I would not ". "You don't look ancient, so I guess that helps" i smile.
"How old do you think I look?" he smirks at me. "Hmmm maybe like 30" Cain lets out a beautiful laugh. "I haven't been 30 in some time." he says taking my hand in his. We sit in silence for a while as we continue eating.
