Story: His Lucky Blessing

B lessyn had caused a little more problem than she thought.

I never thought she would’ve shown her ass up over here but then again, Blessyn was a fighter.

She was pregnant but not even a baby could stop her and make her think for just a damn second.

It took me at least thirty minutes to get my son to calm down.

Then my baby mama was being so damn dramatic as soon as her husband walked in the door.

The way she explained was if Blessyn had barged the fuck in.

I was over it. Should’ve popped her in the mouth for keeping my son from all these years.

Now I was playing damn catch up with a stranger.

“Larry I’m not sure that it’s safe for my son to be in your care right now. My husband and I think we need a little more time to get him adjusted and maybe you can spend some time with him being supervised,” my baby mama said.

Tamia was a girl I dated off and on in high school.

My mama hated her but back then I thought she was perfect.

My mama ended up running her off and she left to go to school and never looked back.

Shit, we had broken up, but we would still link up for sex while she was in college because she didn’t trust anyone else and I felt the same.

That was almost nine years ago. She wasn’t the same girl that I was in love with.

She was married to a rich ass white man that had my son doing shit like he was a privileged ass kid.

“Don’t take this the wrong way but yo husband can’t tell me shit ‘bout my son, dawg. If you were going to do it this way, then you should’ve just kept me out of his life. I can take care of him fine without you looking over my damn shoulders.”

“My husband is really all Jason knows. He’s only been with you for a couple weeks. You really need to get your home life under control.”

“I agree babe. Jason’s safety is my number one concern,” her husband walked in and kissed her on the cheek.

“I’m not sure if Tamia told you or not but I don’t need you telling me how to raise my son. I have a son and a baby on the way.”

“From the same woman that forced her way into my home and pulled out some of my wife’s hair? Tuh, good luck with that buddy.”

That was it, I had enough of his smart-ass mouth. I grabbed him by the collar of his nice expensive shirt and rammed his ass into the refrigerator. I’ve never openly let a man disrespect me or the woman I love, and I didn’t give a fuck at this moment either.

“We were cool but don’t you ever as long as you fuckin’ live think it’s okay disrespect, my woman.

I’m on edge right now and if you ain’t never seen a hood nigga get crazy, then it’s best to keep yo fuckin’ mouth shut with smart ass remarks.

Y’all think y’all can do and say what the fuck ya wanna but now with me.

I’ll kill both of y’all and walk out right now with my son but I’m a gentleman and a businessman.

” I released him, helping him straighten up his clothes.

“The next time you try it, I’ll have my gun in yo mouth, and I’ll make her watch me scatter yo brains across the kitchen floor.

I’ll see y’all in two days,” I smiled at them both.

I was going to take a break from coming over every day and spend some time with my family.

Now that my secret was out, I didn’t have to tiptoe around.

For the last few weeks, I was spending all my time with my son Jason trying to get to know him better.

It gave me some time away from the house and help me put things into perspective.

If I went home tonight and Blessyn gave me her ass to kiss, I was done and walking out for good and never looking back.

I was too good of a nigga to waste away waiting for a woman to love me as much as I love her.

I was home earlier than expected. Usually, I would walk in late because I stayed until Jason was sleep.

We had dinner as a family and everything.

I thought Tamia’s husband was going to be cool, but tonight’s incident showed the muthafuckas true colors.

He was intimidated that I was in my son's life. He nor his wife could keep me out away from him now. As I entered the house I could feel the difference. Blessyn wasn’t shut up in her room with my son.

She was in the kitchen while Kani sat in his highchair eating strawberries.

“Did you eat already? I’ll be done cooking in a few.”

“No, I haven’t eaten.”

“Do you want something to eat, is the question. You haven’t eaten here in weeks,” she turned around to look at me.

“Yes, I’m hungry as fuck and when we sit down to eat, we will discuss what the fuck happened today. I’m about to shower and I’ll be back down here.”

Blessyn looked me up and down before turning her attention back to the pots.

I took a long hot shower. I didn’t want to show Blessyn my frustrations, but I was going to get my damn point across.

Blessyn’s figures appeared in the bathroom right as I was about to get out.

Cutting the water off, I opened the glass door to see her hands covered in blood.

I almost busted my ass trying to get out the tub and get to her.

“Where is Kani?”

“He’s downstairs in his playpen. All I did was lift him up out of his highchair and I felt a gush of fluid.”

“Shit Blessyn. I gotta get you to the hospital.”

I hurried to throw some clothes on. Blessyn changed into something clean while I got Kani changed and ready to go.

We rushed to the hospital and waited for them to put us in a room.

From the way the blood was flowing from her, I knew she had lost the baby.

Blessyn hadn’t fully recovered from her gunshot wound before she was doing shit.

She was a mother and I understood so once she was able to talk better, I let her be.

“I’m sorry to tell you guys this but you miscarried. I know how hard these things can be and sometimes we can’t prevent them. We’re going to keep you here for observation and if you need to speak with anyone, we have counselors here to assist you.”

In my heart, I knew this was a breaking point for her which is why I had already had Merci on standby to get Kani.

This was going to be a hard time for both of us, and we still had a hurdle to climb.

Blessyn stared off into space as I took my shoes off to climb in the bed with her.

She turned her back so I could pull her into me.

“You know this is not the end of the world. We can make another baby. It may have not been time. Shit, Kani ass ain’t even one yet.”

“Yeah, but I know you’re mad at me and thinking it’s my fault ‘cause of how I acted earlier.”

“That shit that happened earlier can be talked about at another time. Right now, I just wanna make sure you good. I’m not mad that you lost the baby.

I don’t know what your body was going through, but I do want you to know that you don’t have to be a fuckin’ supermom when you with me.

We don’t have gender roles in our home. I can do the same stuff you do.

If I gotta cook, clean, and tend to our son, I am totally capable of doing it. ”

“I know you don’t want to talk about it, but this shit really is my fault.

My gut was telling me not to go knock on that door, but I had to know what you were hiding from me.

I’ve never been insecure a day in my life.

The shit really made me feel like I don’t deserve you.

Now we laying here without our baby growing in my stomach because I wanted to go and snatch a bitch wig off. ”

“I should’ve been honest with you from the jump.

We weren’t talking and I was really on the verge of just leaving and never coming back.

Shit was bad for us, and I understand why but damn I thought we were getting better, and it turned sour again.

Maybe it was due to us being coped up in the house together too long.

Either way, I could feel that we were at the end of our ropes. ”

“I’m really sorry for my part. I haven’t been completely honest either.”

I quickly prayed that she wasn’t about to tell me something that was going to piss me off and make shove her head between the rails in this bed.

“I believe I know he tried to kill us that night.” My heart started beating rapidly in my chest as I waited for her to tell me who. “Khi’s family.”

“Khi’s family, who?”

“He has this aunt that owns a flower shop. She used to be into a lot of shit but ended up doing a little jail time and that changed her life. She has three sons that I think do her dirty work. Khi was close to the middle boy. They were kinda close in age. Her flower shop is nice, but I think it’s just a cover up for what she really into. ”

Blessyn’s story kind of made sense. Who else would want to avenge Khi’s death but his family?

As soon as I got Blessyn out of the hospital and back home, I started putting my plan into action.

I didn’t even talk to Perc about it because I wanted this to be personal.

If a nigga could single-handedly try to kill me and Blessyn, I was going to return the favor, but I was going to make sure the nigga took his last breath.

The rain was coming down so hard that I had to turn the windshield wipers on fast so I could see the business in front of me.

The flower shop that Blessyn gave me the address to was a cover up.

Because it was raining so hard, she didn’t set everything out like most flower shops did and even with all the rain we were receiving she was getting an ass load of business.

Some people came out with flowers, and some came out emptyhanded but either way, the quality of customers was telling me she had some shit going on in there.

I waited for business to slow down before I jogged across the street and entered her business.

“Do you have long stem red roses in here? I’ve been all over the city looking for fresh flowers and can’t seem to find any.”

She turned around with a scowl on her face. She knew who I was, and I knew from her demeanor that the bitch was shocked that I was still alive and breathing.

“Why you so shocked? It’s like you saw a ghost. Do you know me from somewhere?”

“Get the fuck outta of my business before I call the police.”

“I was trying to spend some money. Why you got to mention the police in a business transaction? Now, I’m going to ask you again.” I said as I locked her door, flipping the sign to close and closed all the blinds. “Do you know me from somewhere?”

“I hope you know that whatever you got in mind to do, you will not get away with it.”

“Normally I don’t do dumb shit like this and act out of emotion. I’m a very calculated but you did some flaw shit or someone you know did some flaw shit and I’m on some get back so why not start with you?” I twisted the silencer on my gun.

“You got more enemies in this city than you think. Blessyn ain’t all that innocent either. That bitch has a few enemies too. I hope you didn’t think that killing my nephew and marrying his baby mama was going to solve your issue.”

“Never that. Khi comes from a bloodline of pussy ass niggas. He never gave a fuck ‘bout his girl or his son. I’m tired of every muthafucka that has something to say ‘bout me pulling the trigger on his bitch ass. Yes, I did it. I’ll kill his ass again if I had too. The streets were never his thang and y’all knew that.

” I raised my gun and aimed it in between her eyes.

“You just like a yo daddy. You look truth right in the eyes and will still pull the trigger. He was always fuckin’ blind and I see you are too.

You still being pulled by strings and don’t even know it.

I’ll be glad when the truth comes out and you see that you been fucked with ever since you were a little boy. ”

“Fuck you talkin’ ‘bout?” I asked.

“Oh, nothing. Go ahead and pull the trigger. I know it’s hard for you to kill a woman so go ahead, this ain’t the first time a gun been to my head, son. Just make sure you pay your old man a visit for me and tell him the lady from the flower shop sent you.”

She smiled at me and turned her back to me.

I wrestled with pulling the trigger. She had said a lot that made me want to question her more, but I didn’t have the time on my side.

It was a pussy move to shoot a bitch in her back.

Walking up to her, I turned her around and put the gun to her head.

She squeezed her eyes shut and I pulled the trigger, making sure to catch her before her body hit the ground.

I slowly laid her down and went around her store cutting all the wires that I thought was connected to a camera.

She didn’t have any that I could find but I wanted to be safe.

The small space that she had as an office didn’t display any cameras.

I rummaged through everything before I put my hoodie back on my head before walking out of the door.

It was raining harder than it was when I first went in there.

I looked both ways, making sure the coast was clear before jogging back to the car I had got from a bitch that let you drive her shit for a couple of dollars and some coke.

I’m sure nigga caught bodies in this bitch all the time.

I slipped my gloves off as soon as I got in the car.

One down, and probably plenty more to go but she was the main part of the puzzle.

I had already spent more time than I wanted to with her, but my next visit was going to be with my pops.

Once her body was found, her people would start coming out of hiding so I could body they ass too.

They wanted the old Lucky back and that’s exactly what I was giving them.
