Story: His Lucky Blessing
“ M ake sure y’all don’t get in no cars that I haven’t ordered.”
“Okay Lucky. Can we go?” Blessyn begged.
“I’m just making sure y’all don’t go and do anything stupid in a foreign country.”
“It ain’t like we can drink. I mean we are pregnant.”
“That’s right. And no clubs. Go to the spa, the beach and do some shopping.”
“Bye baby,” she kissed me passionately.
“Can y’all just please,” Merci said.
I helped her in the car and closed the door.
I sent them away for four days. That was enough time to handle my job and be back to my normal self before my wife made it back home to me.
There was a secret in place in my house that no one knew about but me and Perc.
I had over two million dollars inside of the wall along with kilos of drugs that hadn’t been touched.
I left the drug game a long time ago but as long as my brother was in the streets I had my hand in there silently.
We got word that we had a new crew taking over a few of our corners.
Not only was they taking over, but they were also selling their shit for cheaper which was putting us out of business.
This is when I got involved. Perc needed me to be the brains because he would just start dropping bodies.
I didn’t need that type of attention and neither did Perc.
I used the key around my neck to unlock the door.
Sliding it to the side, I walked in and opened the closet to change into my clothes.
Blessyn would’ve asked question as soon as she saw a bulletproof vest and a closet full of black clothes along with mask.
I didn’t want her to really see this side of me.
It was also the safest place in my house.
I had it built just in case someone ran up in my shit.
No one could get in without the key and I had a backup system if the key didn’t work.
I hadn’t had to use it, and I hoped I never would.
This room held all my drug money over the years.
Perc sent me a text that he was pulling up.
So, I locked up my house and hopped in with him.
All I wanted to do tonight was pull up on the block and watch their activity.
It was Wednesday night at the end of the month.
Shit was dry but their product was still moving.
A junkie will find a muthafucka to steal from just to get high.
They looked young which didn’t surprise me.
Selling they shit so cheap was a broke nigga’s way of coming up.
“I can take one of these niggas out right now,” Perc adjusted in his seat.
“No guns.”
“Nigga what?”
“You know how I feel ‘bout that shit. We can take these niggas out one by one without one fucking gun. Look at these niggas man. They weak as fuck. The leader ain’t even carrying no heat. They lil’ niggas.”
“We need to move on at least one of them tonight.”
“Nigga, calm your ass down. Tomorrow night, we’ll grab one of them. I’m sitting here trying to figure out who’s the leader and who’s the weakest link. If you would shut the fuck up.”
I watched the three niggas smoke a blunt together and one served which let me know he was the leader. No one else did shit. He handled the money and the drugs. The rest of them hung around trying to learn but they knew something and that’s all I needed.
“See the two not doing shit. Those the two we gon’ get tomorrow night. We’ll wait until they start heading home because don’t none of these niggas drive from the looks of it.”
“Aight, bet.”
“I sent the girls off today. Have you spoke to Merci at all?” I looked over at him.
“I tried but I couldn’t. She invited me up to her spot and everything but I had my daughter with me. I ain’t ready to get back involved with that girl. Have you seen her sonograms and shit?”
“Nigga, I don’t do that social media shit.”
“I think the baby look like me, but I may be bugging. You know how I get when I be high.”
“It’s either you bugging or it may be your baby.”
“Let me drop your ass off before we get into it. You need to holla at mama too,” Perc told me.
“I’ll go over there in the morning.”
“She tripping ‘bout you being married and you not telling her. She damn near bit my head off ‘cause I didn’t tell her.”
“It’s none of her business what I do. I’m a grown ass fucking man.”
“You ain’t gotta tell me.”
Perc dropped me off to my empty ass house.
I checked the mailbox because we were waiting on the results from her test to see what we were having.
We didn’t want to know right then so we had them mail them.
I threw the mail on the table and took a shower.
Syn had sent me a text of her and Merci.
They looked like they were enjoying themselves.
She sent me a few more pictures of her in her bathing suit with her stomach out.
Me: Stop sending me all these pictures. Send me a picture of that pussy but I want it wet when you send it.
Thirty minutes later, she sent me the picture I wanted.
My baby was a fucking freak and I loved it.
She had my dick hard and she wasn’t here to do anything with it.
I had three days to go without her. I was fucking her in the foyer as soon as she walked through the door.
I hoped she was ready. I sent her a goodnight text and took my ass to sleep.
Dealing with my mama wasn’t going to be easy.
“Perce must have told you what I said?” My mama said with an attitude.
“Mama I was coming I just have several things goin’ on.”
“Why haven’t I met your wife yet?”
“I thought it was best to get to know her without getting you involved. If I would have brought her over here, you would have made her so uncomfortable, and I just didn’t want that. You always try to tell us what we can and can’t do and I’m grown.”
“You married and got a baby on the way, and you don’t think I should know something like that.”
“Do you remember what happened to my last relationship? You ran that damn girl off before I could get to know who she was. All I knew was her name. It was my first girlfriend, and I thought I was doing the right thing by bringing her here and that turned out terrible. I was nineteen years old. I told myself I would never do that again. And then we not gon’ get on how you did Perc and Lexus. ”
“Aight. Okay. I didn’t want y’all with just any woman. Money brings the wrong type of women.”
“Says the woman that loves Lexus.”
“She’s just misguided.”
“Yeah right.”
“I’m happy for you. I know your daddy would be too. Have you spoke to him?”
“Nah and I doubt I will. We are good and I wanna keep it like that.”
“I won’t push it.”
“You need anything from me while I’m here?” I asked her.
My visit was usually brief.
“A few lightbulbs need changing and check the oil in my car.”
I made sure my mama was straight before I went home to get ready for Perc to pick me up.
We had to make a move tonight and get the information we needed.
Again, we pulled up on the block but this time we waited a little later in the night.
If they were anything like me, I didn’t go home until I was completely out of drugs when I started out.
“We move before the sun come up.”
We passed a blunt back and forth. The hand exchange slowed down around four.
Their body language told me they were tired.
I looked at my clock and nodded at my brother to let him know I was ready to make a move.
Perc stood in the cut as I staggered over to them.
My clothes were torn and dirty. My hat was low over my eyes and I made sure I had lint all in my beard. I went straight for the head nigga.
“Aye what I can get for ten dollas?” I slurred.
“Nigga ten? You betta take yo ass on the other side of town with that shid. We ain’t selling your ass shid.”
“Come on nigga. That’s all I got.” I pushed up on him.
He pushed me off, but I went at him again this time, I raised my head so he could look me in my eyes.
“Lucky?” He whispered before punched his ass in the face making him hit the ground. The other two took off running but came face to face with Perc and his extended clip that I told his as not to bring. “Y’all two muthafuckas carry this nigga over to the car and put him in the trunk.”
“Huh?” The skinny one said.
“If you can huh you can hear. I said pick your goddamn friend up and carry his ass to the car.”
“You still got it, nigga,” Perc laughed.
“One hitta quitter,” I flexed.
Perc popped the trunk and they threw their friend in the trunk.
“Aight, y’all get in with him,” I told the two.
“Come on man. I ain’t did shit,” one of them whined.
“You get in the passenger side,” I told the skinny one. “You, get your ass in the trunk.”
I sat behind the nigga as my brother drove to the Industrial side of town. Before we got there, I started asking the lil’ nigga questions.
“Who y’all sell for?”
“Huh?”
“Say huh one more time, I’mma have my brother blow your fuckin head off, nigga. Who are you selling for?” I warned.
“I don’t know the nigga name.”
“But y’all know that’s my block though, right? You let a no named nigga talk you into walking into a territory that don’t belong to him?”
“I was hanging with my friends. I didn’t sell shit.”
“Why is that? You scared?” Perc asked, looking over at him.
“He wouldn’t let us. We were just there to make sure nothing happened to his drugs or money.”
He started shaking so bad that I felt bad for the nigga. I knew he was the weakest of the three. His ass was probably supposed to be home, but his mama worked and couldn’t keep up with his ass.
“What your name?”
“Hendrix.”
“Aye let this nigga out. He looks like he comes from a good home,” I told Perc.
“Man, nigga nah. He gotta die with the rest of em’,” Perc continued to drive.
“Let him out.” Perc pulled over and stopped the car.
“Hendrix, take your ass home and don’t let me see your face again.
This street shit ain’t for you. If I hear anything about this night, I’ll have some big scary men at your house to take your family out.
We clear?” He nodded before he got out and took off running.
“That nigga pissed in my seat,” Perc stated.
“He doesn’t know shit. Niggas like him go do jail time for nothing and kill themselves. He won’t make it long.”
We got to our resting place. We both stood at the trunk ready to pop and give them the business. Perc had his gun ready as he hit the trunk and it popped open.
“Lucky I would’ve never disrespected you, man. I thought you was out the game.”
“Who you sell for?”
“Big Bank from Bankhead,” the leader said.
“Give me the rest of the drugs and money you got.”
He emptied his pockets in the tight space while his friend laid there shivering. Once I got what I needed, Perc let off bullets into their body and set the car on fire. We walked up a few blocks where my shooters were waiting on me. I stared out the window trying to get my mind right.
“My bad ‘bout the gun but there was no other way to handle it,” Perc said.
“It’s cool. Just give me a minute.”
We rode in silence until one of my guys asked me where we were headed.
“Big Bank’s house in Bankhead. I want y’all to go in there and handle his big ass and then take me the fuck home. I’m over this shit already.”
Two days later, I was rubbing on Blessyn’s belly while she laid asleep on my lap. The news was on talking about the dead bodies found in the trunk of a car and Big Bank’s body later found riddled with bullets and burns. I turned it off and carried my wife to bed.
