Of course I have. Do you have any suggestions beyond the obvious ones?
She could hear him laugh at her.
Grrr....
She waited for a few moments before he replied.
You know you are going to just have to escalate right? They will have to look at this for her. Unless we have sent her a new sim card already.
*facepalm* I hate escalations. She has already gotten a new sim card. I will let her know.
She sent the last message and then shut the message window, pulling back up her case notes.
She took a deep breath and put her headset back on, clicking the hold button and then letting the customer know what the situation was.
The awkward crying from the customer that followed made her rub her hands over her face as she waited for the customer to finish her tear-filled rant about how awful Destin's service was.
Elisa rolled her eyes as the customer started sobbing dramatically on the phone.
"I understand how disconcerting this ma’am can be, but we need to escalate to get your phone back up and running."
The customer continued to cry, and Elisa tried to hold it together. She had been on the phone with this woman for over an hour; from making rude accusations and threats, to crying and forcing Elisa to bypass some uncomfortable questions.
"I will also go ahead and give you a ten-dollar credit for your troubles, okay?"
With the credit offer she perked right up, making Elisa realize she had played right into her hand.
The lady thanked her and then hung up the phone, leaving Elisa almost in shock.
She threw her headset down and stood up, walking down her aisle and then back up, stopping at her seat.
She looked at the clock and almost crowed with happiness.
Lunch time!
She quickly finished her notes and escalation, closing her case.
She clocked out for lunch and put her phone in lunch as well, grabbing her badge, her purse and keys and heading out the door.
She was back at the building in almost twenty minutes, a record for her.
Walking into the break room she saw Esme, sitting at one of the tables and staring at her phone.
She plopped the bag down on the table and Esme just turned to stare at her, rolling her eyes and looking back down at her phone.
"What's the matter with you?" Elisa asked, taking out her burger and fries.
"How can you eat that?" Esme retorted, making Elisa laugh.
"Easily," she quipped, taking a large bite of her burger as Esme rolled her eyes again.
"You are so gross Elisa," Esme stated, looking back down at her phone.
Esme wasn’t one to eat burgers. She always brought fresh home-made food from home.
"I know."
Elisa looked at Esme and had to contain herself as the side of Esme's mouth turned up in a grin.
