“They won’t listen to you, especially when I tell them you have been harassing me ever since I broke your pretty little heart.”

Elisa had to keep herself from physically assaulting Eric right then and there.

“Get away from me.”

He laughed and stood up, walking away.

Elisa put herself in break and rushed off the floor, heading to the bathroom.

When she got into a stall, she was breathing so hard that she started to dry heave. Her heart was racing so hard she could hear it in her ears.

She took a deep breath and then another, calming herself as she did.

When she felt like she was going to be okay, she left the stall and went to the sink, patting some cold water on her face.

Taking a deep breath and looking in the mirror, she said to herself, “You can do this. He is just a man. Kick him where it hurts if you have to. Don’t let him see you cry.”

Steeling her spine, she left the bathroom and went back to work.

The rest of her shift passed without issue, thankfully.

Elisa told Gage what happened, and he was rightfully mad, but she told him to forget about it because she would take care of it.

She emailed James and the site manager and HR, letting them know that Eric was harassing her.

She also let them know that he would most likely state that he was being sexually harassed by her as retaliation for their breakup. She reassured them that she was doing no such thing.

She received an email back from HR as soon as she sent it, letting her know that they would look into it for her.

A few minutes later, she received another email from James letting her know that he would look into it as well.

I just hope that they can do something…

When her shift was over, she headed over to Gage’s cube, not willing to walk to her car without an escort.

He got off his call and went to break, walking her out to her car.

“Text me when you get home okay?”

“I will. Don’t worry.”

She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him, the kiss lingering for a moment before she broke it.

“Have fun at the rest of your shift.”

“Right.”

She giggled when he winked at her.

“Go on before I leave work with you and get in trouble.”

She laughed and got in her car, heading home.

Gage walked back up to the building, not paying attention so he missed Eric walk out of the bushes with a baseball bat and swing it at him.

It hit Gage in the shoulder, Gage thankful it was only an aluminum bat and not a metal one. At least it was hollow and not solid.

“Fuck!” He turned around to barely be missed by another swing.
