Gage noted the frustrated look on Danny’s face, his guard rising.

“What’s going on?” he asked as Danny walked him back to the classroom and shut the door behind him.

“Eric is on the warpath. Apparently, his fiancée broke up with him last night, and he is very upset. He has all the nesters on high priority, which means that everyone is going to be getting back to back calls.”

Gage scowled and crossed his arms in frustration.

“When did this happen?” he asked.

“Earlier this afternoon…when he was reminded this class was here today.”

“Fuck…” Gage rubbed his face in frustration.

“I already tried to talk to the other Operations Manager, James, but he isn’t here, and he isn’t answering my texts. He is upset and I suspect that he is doing it because it has something to do with you.”

“Yeah no doubt. Considering his now ex-fiancée is my ex-wife…”

Danny’s jaw dropped farther than Gage had ever seen it drop before.

“She is? When did that happen?”

He looked at Gage as if he was just seeing him.

“That means that Eric was engaged to her the whole time he was with Elisa!”

His face turned red in anger and Gage had to physically restrain Danny from leaving the room.

“Calm down, you don’t want to go do something rash and get yourself fired.”

“I’m fine, I’m fine.”

Gage laughed at Danny.

“You are clearly not fine. Just sit for a minute. We figured out yesterday when she saw a picture my ex sent me. Eric sent her the same photo.”

“What a scumbag,” Danny growled.

“I know man, but don’t worry. I will take care of Eric. You go do your job, and I will try and help the nesters who are being punished for no reason.”

Danny didn’t look convinced, but Gage pushed him out the door in the opposite direction of Eric’s office.

Gage stayed in the classroom since it was almost two o’clock and he didn’t want to be late for work.

Elisa sat at her desk, waiting patiently for a call to come in.

Since two o’clock she hadn’t had more than one call, and that was weird. She knew that the nesters were swamped with calls.

She didn’t usually listen to office gossip, but there was a rumor going around that Eric had been dumped by his fiancée and that it had something to do with the nesters and now he was out for revenge.

Elisa really wanted to go talk to Eric and tell him to fuck off, but she figured that would do more harm than good and she didn’t want Gage to work ever harder than he already was.

She had been able to say hi to him briefly on her lunch when he went to break, but it was only for about five minutes before she had to get back on the clock.

He also couldn’t useMessageMevery much because of the back to back calls he was getting.

When he could reply, it was short one-word sentences.

She sighed and looked at the clock, happy that she was almost ready to go home, but upset because she wanted to talk to Gage.
