He took a seat next to her and asked, "So do you usually have a lot of crazy calls? Or are they usually pretty laid back?"

She shook her head. "Nope, I usually get the crazies. The ones who overreact over the smallest issue with their phones. I usually can help them, but sometimes the issue lies with the phone itself. Seeing as how we do not sell phones, only the service, I cannot help them with that issue. They have to speak to the manufacturer of the phone."

"I will remember that in case I get an issue like that. Thanks."

She nodded. "Not a problem. I like being able to let people know if they have any questions."

"Do you want to stay a 1st level agent or are you wanting to move up?" He asked, making her stop and think about it.

"I know I do not want to work here forever. I would not mind moving up through the ranks until then."

"Ambition, drive. Incredibly attractive in a woman."

He winked at her and she flushed slightly, embarrassed now.

"You think so? I always heard that that was not something guys liked."

She was thrown back to one fight with Eric, the fight so bad they had broken up that night. The next day, Eric had called to apologize to her.

"I'm sorry for what I said last night. Men just don't like women who are too ambitious. It is not sexy."

She frowned just thinking about it.

"Are you all right?" Gage asked, resting his hand over her folded ones.

She snapped back to him and nodded. "Just an unpleasant memory."

He pulled his hand away and she couldn't help but feel bereft at the loss of his hand on hers.

"Maybe we could make some pleasant ones. Would you like to go out with me tomorrow night?"

She stared at him for a full thirty seconds before she blurted out, "Yes!"

Her face flushed fully, and she said, a bit calmer, "I would love to go out with you."

He laughed and he replied, "Great. Can I get your number so I can text you mine?"

He pulled his phone out and unlocked it, putting in the code and hiding the phone when the home screen opened.

She looked at him curiously, wondering what he could be hiding from her.

He quickly went into his photos and changed the background to a picture of his dog Raina, and then leaned it flat again.

"Sorry, I uh, had something I didn't want you to see on there."

She arched her brow at him. "It is your phone, no need to explain."

His face lit up with his smile. "Thank you for that."

Shrugging, she told him her number, him adding it in to his phone.

He texted her a quick "Hi!" and then sent it, telling her, "I have officially texted you."

Giggling, she replied, "I will be sure to text you back."

"I'd like that."

His green eyes were so intense that she had to look away.
