Ten more minutes, thank goodness.
"They should be getting here soon, seeing as how it is almost time for them to clock in."
Esme nodded again and Elisa smiled and waved at her, heading to the break room.
Elisa had just pulled her phone out of her pocket to look at it when she bumped into someone, almost falling over as she did.
Large hands grabbed her arms to steady her and she ended up resting her hands on her rescuer’s chest.
She looked up and was met with the greenest eyes she had ever seen.
"I am sorry, are you all right?" The voice came from the face that held the eyes, breaking her trance.
She stepped back abruptly, now able to see the entire face of the man who stopped her from falling on her face.
"I am, thank you. I obviously was not paying attention."
He laughed, his smile reaching his eyes and putting her under his spell once again.
"It's all right. It happens to everyone."
The shock of what just happened came rushing in, making Elisa's face light, the blush spreading to her chest and cheeks.
"Excuse me," she squeaked, carefully moving around him and rushing into the break room.
She hid behind the dividing wall until he had left the break room doorway, leaning back against it as she breathed a sigh of relief.
When she had regained her faculties, she pushed away from the wall. She walked over to the large fridge that held drinks and grabbed one out, popping open the soda and going to sit down.
She went over to the large group of tables placed in the break room, pulling out a chair and looking at the large TV on the wall.
She didn’t see the TV though; instead the green eyes stared back at her.
With a sigh she looked at her watch, a slight degree of panic rising in her as she noticed how close it was to two.
Grabbing her soda, she rushed out on to the floor and back to her desk, throwing her badge on to the desk and putting her password in to unlock her computer.
She yanked her headset off the desk and roughly threw it on her head, pressing the button to get ready for a call.
Thankfully it was slow, so she was not receiving that many calls.
She pulled up her window and started to play solitaire, smiling as her friend Danny came over to her.
"Hey Danny, how are you?" she asked, leaning back in her chair.
He chuckled and pulled the chair over from the empty desk next to her and whispered loudly, "I am doing good. How are you?"
Elisa rolled her eyes. "Why are you whispering loudly?"
He shrugged. "I don't know, I just wanted to."
She smiled as he leaned back to speak to Melinda who sat in front of her.
Danny was tall and skinny, had blonde hair and green eyes and was a generally goofy guy. She had met him when she was in nesting and they had formed a fast friendship.
He leaned back over to her and stated with a gleam in his eye, "I saw the "incident" in the hallway. You ran right in to Gage on your way to the break room."
Elisa felt her face heat as he spoke, sending him in to a fit of laughter.
