Page 29 of Call Me Yours
One date and you are already all over wanting to talk to him all the time?
She had talked to him this afternoon, so it wasn’t as if she hadn’t been able to talk to him at all today.
When her headset beeped she focused back on her work, happy that the call lasted long enough to end her shift without having to go over or get another call.
She clocked out and set her headset down, grabbing her purse and jacket and heading over to say good-bye to Gage.
She had almost reached him when Eric stopped her, planting himself immediately in her way.
“Can I help you?” she asked, when he didn’t say anything for a good five seconds.
“Yes, you can. You can go out with me tonight for a drink.”
Elisa stared at him.
“You can’t be serious.”
He put on his best charming smile, the one that had originally attracted her to him.
“Yes, I am.”
She continued to stare at him.
“No.”
He scowled briefly but then his smile resumed.
“What you meant was sure, I’d love to right?”
She shook her head.
“No. What I meant was no. Excuse me.”
She stepped around him and headed towards Gage’s desk.
Eric grabbed her arm and stopped her from walking any further.
Elisa turned to look back at him, her gaze traveling down to her arm and back up at him.
“Let go, Eric. Do not make a scene. We are at work.”
She tugged at her arm, trying to get loose.
“You are going to go out with me tonight. I am not taking no for an answer,” he growled, pulling her closer to him.
Elisa tried to tamp down the anger and fear she felt rising, trying to avoid getting hysterical.
“Let go of me. Now.”
“No.”
“Eric, I am only going to ask you once more. Let go of me. I do not want to have to call security.”
He refused to let go but Elisa kept pulling.
She noticed that Gage had seen what was going on when he looked up from his desk and was scowling.
He was still on a call so he couldn’t do anything.
