Story: Pretty Poison
“How was practice?”
“Shitty. How is Colleen?”
“Still very angry about what happened. Frustrated and annoyed would be the perfect definition.” But I believe that her cousin was not the only one who carried the feeling. It was Colleen's senior year, she wouldn't be on the team next year and this was her and Kendra's last chance to be on the same team again. Of performing together, and I believed that both of them were upset by that.
“She will recover.”
“Not in time for Daytona.”
We both had a lot on our minds. I knew that, but I felt like I might go crazy if I didn't disconnect from everything and Kendra was the best way to do that.
"How about a movie today? We can just cuddle and try to relax." I proposed, but I was a little afraid of rejection. The blonde wasn't in a good mood. But, lucky for me, Kendra agreed.
I looked one last time at the blanket spread over my bed. My idea was to make a pillow fort so we could have something different. I needed something different, besides, if I didn't do that, and occupied my mind, I would have questioned Emily as soon as she stepped into the room. However, I had agreed with Troian that we would do it together the next day.
The lights I had gotten with Troian gave the place a special charm and, luckily, she didn't question me about why the hell I was doing all that to see a movie with Kendra. She just accepted and said she would go out to dinner with Becker.
Emily had also left a few minutes ago, saying that she would stop by the library and then go eat in the cafeteria with some girls from the team. I was finishing arranging the pillows when someone knocked on the door.
I took one last look at everything and went to meet my guest.
I opened the door with a wide smile and immediately pulled her inside, locking us inside.
“Hi…” A beautiful smile lit up her lips.
“Hey,mami.”
“I’m happy to be here, happy I said yes to our movie night.”
“I’m glad you did too.” I reached out and took her hand. “Come on, let’s go to my room.” I led her inside, and as soon as I opened the door, I gestured toward the improvised decorations. “Ta-da!”
I watched her blue eyes brighten slightly, and it made me happy to see her more at ease after Colleen's accident. Knowing how close they were, her initial despair was understandable, but now that the worst was over, she deserved to feel more at peace again.
“Wow, you did a good job, huh?!” She joked, but pulled me towards her, placing her arm over my shoulders. “Thanks!”
A delicious kiss was placed on my cheek.
“That's because I haven't even told you what film we're going to see yet...” I teased her.
“And what is it?” The distrust in her voice was palpable, but it was covered in amusement.
“It's a surprise, don't be hasty.”
I pulled her to the bed and left her sitting comfortably there, then I pulled out the pizza I had left under the desk and also thebottle of wine. I arranged everything under the picnic blanket I had spread over the bed.
“Very romantic!” Kendra pointed out.
“I really am, only heartless people won't recognize it.”
She stole another kiss from me. And one more. And one last before we almost spilled the red wine over everything. We ended up calming down after that. We ate amid laughter and slightly bitter memories of the past, but which now seemed too silly.
After we were satisfied, we got better in bed and I put onBring It Onfrom the 2000s.
“I can't believe you chose this movie…” Kendra looked at me, in disbelief and slightly drunk, as she laid her head on my belly. As she did so, she even stopped, lifted up a little and poked the muscle that was covered by a shirt.
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing, just realizing, again, that you're fucking hot. Ripped hot.”
