Story: Pretty Poison

She smiled and left her face next to mine as her hand continued to press around my neck. Her finger thrust me harder and then she added speed to it. I wanted to climb the walls because of the intensity she applied to everything. I buried my face in her neck and tried, almost futilely, to contain my moans, but I wasn't sure if I was being successful. The palm of her hand continued to hit my clitoris and everything intoxicated me so quickly that when I realized it, my legs were already wobbly.

There was a layer of sweat on me, but I couldn't care about it. All I could see was Kendra and all the constellations she carried in her eyes.

I was screwed. If I had ever believed in falling in love because of how good the dick was, it was only because I’d never slept with a woman before. Now that I had, I was certain I wouldn’t trade the chemistry I had with that blonde for anything.

Veronica was sitting on the other side of the GYM warming up. Soon they would have another attempt at the pyramid and she was getting ready while I could only remember Halloween.

She was starting to steal my sanity and I felt like a crazy person obsessed with the girl I was secretly making out with. It was probably just a response to the fact that I was clinging to the idea of being with Veronica. The intensity of the beginning of something new was absurd, especially for two people who had the background and experience like ours.

“Hey, what do you think about having dinner together?” Colleen's voice made me take my eyes off the brunette who was smiling discreetly at me.

“Dinner? Sure, why not.”

Colleen looked at me curiously.

“You seem a bit airy, Ken. You good?”

“Yes…”

My cousin didn't seem so convinced, but she didn't press the issue. Soon Karlee called all the required athletes into the pyramid. As I wasn't part of the group, I sat next to Sid and Troian, who were two others who wouldn't be part of the main attraction of our choreography.

The tension when climbing the pyramid was palpable in the gym. It was a risky time and this year the structure was somewhat different.

The silence inside the place became uncomfortable and, for a moment, something made my body shiver with a bad feeling.

I didn't like what I felt at all.

Karlee and Evan timed the choreography, there was no music, just the coaches' voices and their clapping. The first assembly was carried out without technical mistakes. The problem came when the top girls had to start getting down.

Jaz and Emily got down without any problems, Veronica also landed on the ground gracefully. Colleen fell.

I stood up suddenly, very agitated, feeling my legs weak, but I managed to run to my cousin before her agonized and painful scream echoed throughout the place. I threw myself next to Colleen and Karlee arrived next.

“I'm here, Colleen.” I whispered, but before I could touch her, Evan grabbed me and we noticed that she was clinging to her own arm. Visually there was nothing alarming, but as soon as Karlee held it, letting go of her arm a little, it became clear that it was broken.

The coach told my cousin that everything would be fine. The nurse showed up, but I heard her walk away and Karlee asked someone to call an ambulance.

“It's going to be okay, Colleen...” Thick tears were already streaming from her blue eyes, her jaw tightly clenched. “Everything will be fine…”

But even though I was trying to calm her down with some positivity, Karlee's face said it all: we had a huge problem. We were all screwed without Colleen in the choreography.

The ambulance arrived about five minutes later and Colleen was accompanied by Karlee. Evan was kind enough to take me to the hospital while the rest of the team was dismissed for the day.

I had my head down, resting on my hands, as we waited for some kind of update on Colleen's condition; Since we arrived at the hospital, they had just taken her inside and no one else had given any news whatsoever.

I was nervous about it all, but I wasn't the only one.

The coach kept pacing from one side to the other. Evan was next to me, quiet, as if silently hoping to send some good energy. When an hour had passed since they took Colleen away, I got up.

“I need to make a call.” I said and they both just agreed. I moved a few steps away and searched my contacts for the only one I could call in that situation. It didn't take long for my mother to answer.

“Hi, dear! I'm glad you called, I really wanted to talk to you...” Mom began, but my next words cut her off.

“Mom, I'm at the hospital,” I said quickly, leaving no time for her to ask questions. “Colleen fell from the pyramid. I think her arm is broken.”

“Oh no... Is she being treated?”

“Yes…” My voice faltered as my eyes began to sting for the first time since the fall. “The fall was bad, mom. And I couldn't do anything.”
