Page 17 of The Betrayal You Serve
"Not now, Luc."
A smile pulls at my lips before a manic laugh rips from my throat.
"You're a fucking hypocrite, Scarlett Hunter." I take a step toward her as Leon wraps his arm around her shoulder. "I'm not going to fucking hurt her," I spit.
He scoffs. "Bit late for that."
"Didn't fucking stop you taking what's mine at the first opportunity." My lip curls in disgust. "Or have you been fucking her the entire time I have?"
I had no idea Luca had hauled his ass from the floor until I'm forcefully shoved away from Letty and Leon, my shoulder slamming into the wall, sending a sharp pain down my arm.
"Get out of my fucking house." He continues pushing me toward the back door and I allow it until we get there, then I stand my ground.
"Get your hands off me." I hold his eyes for a few beats before looking back at Scarlett. "She's a lying cunt, Letty. She's not pregnant, she just wanted to hurt you. But you, you were the one to do this." I nod between the twins. "I hope they enjoy you because they might not get another chance when I get my hands on you again."
Both Luca and Leon take a threatening step forward as if I'm actually fucking scared of them.
"This isn't over, Princess. Not by a long shot," I warn before spinning on my heels and marching from the house.

Letty
Silence fills the Dunn's kitchen as we all stare at the door Kane just stormed through.
My heart thunders in my chest and my hands tremble.
There's a part of me that wants to believe him, to run after him and tell him all of this was a mistake. But then I remember the way she looked at him. What he's saying might be true, she might not be pregnant, but he's still fucked her and she still wants him.
"It's okay," Leon says, wrapping his hand around the back of my neck and pulling me into his chest.
"No," I say, pressing my hands against him and taking a step back.
His eyes stay on me as I turn to Luca who's standing only a few feet away, leaning back against the wall as if his body won't hold him up. His shoulders are dropped in defeat and his eyes are clouded over as if he's not even really here.
"Luc," I breathe, taking a step toward him.
He was already freaking out, he really didn't need Kane to blurt out that this wasn't mine and Leon's first time together.
He expels a long breath before his eyes finally lift. When they find mine, a gasp rips from my lips as I find them full of unshed tears.
"I'm sorry," I whisper, taking another step closer to him, needing to comfort him, to tell him that everything is going to be okay. But the longer I look at him, I start to doubt if that's even going to be the case. He looks utterly devastated.
"When?" he finally asks, his eyes never leaving mine.
"Y-years ago. It was just one time, we were drunk. You were with…" I rack my brain but really, Luca's a player and it could have been anyone. "A cheerleader probably."
An indecipherable noise rumbles up his throat before he lifts his hand to run his fingers through his hair.
"I-I don't… I can't—"
He pushes from the wall and disappears into the hallway and then either upstairs or out of the house, I have no idea.
I stand there, my body sagging in defeat as I wonder just how today turned into such a shitshow.
I turn, my eyes immediately finding Leon's.
"I'm sorry," he mouths, and I nod, accepting it. Not that it's his fault.
